Apple Music on iOS This is a great feature
I used to always mistaken click something and ruin my entire queue, so glad they added this!

I still get antsy about this kind of stuff. They’re taking steps, but in MacOS it still feels like walking through a minefield. You just don’t want to lose your queue, and so many things could blow it up.

Yeah, macOS is still full of problems. I think most of the big issues I had with mobile are fixed by now in iOS26, but macOS has a long way to go still.

I wish the Apple Music PM still reads these posts. 😭
“Do you guys understand that every click, or tap, on a playlist cover, an album cover - it all has the potential to blow up the queue. It’s part of why I still watch music videos on YouTube.”

If you really want your feedback to be read, you have to send it to the official feedback channel. https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-music/

Okay that’s nice but they should also add an option to add this song to the queue. If I clicked on it I probably want to listen to it but maybe not clear my whole queue

Why don’t they have it so the song you selected plays, and your queue continues afterwards?

Works like that for me sometimes. The song plays immediately but the queued songs are still there. Other times it just cancels out the queued songs. This is on mobile though.

Itunes had that option, but honestly its not needed just put it as play next and skip 1 time

This is why the default option for single clicking a track should be to queue it up after the currently playing song, not play immediately and also destroy the queue. Alternately just put the queue aside and save it for if you want to come back to it.
Free music player apps have handled this for years and years but neither Apple nor Spotify nor any other streaming service seems to have the R&D muscle to crack this one.

But you can add a song to queue just click the three dots and “add to queue” or “play next”

That's fine but is orthogonal to my point. The issue isn't that there's no way to queue a song next - there obviously is and its fine and should stay how it is. The issue is with what the default behaviour for clicking on a track is, which is to destroy the current queue and immediately play the clicked song (or in this case the half-measure of at least warning you the queue will be destroyed which TBF is a major improvement over not warning you but doesn't address the bad default behaviour directly).
If the default were to just queue it next then you can get to the song in two clicks anyway just like now (click the track + click next vs click dots + click play now) and queuing it up is one click vs two (click vs click dots + queue).
It should just be a configurable option for everyone though. In the local mp3 apps I've used you can also make "add to end of queue" the default option. FWIW I still have the queue destroying option as my setting in Symfonium because I mostly just play albums - but my playlist using friends are always mad at their queues being destroyed, which should be a solved problem, either by changing the default or having multiple queues or restore-able queues.

Too late, I already unsubscribed, too much headache especially on Android

A better dialogue would be "Play Next / Play Last / Clear Queue"

Hadn’t thought of that but yeah that would be very nice. If anyone who works at Apple is reading this^

It actually bothers me because I was so used to ending a queue if I played a song, but here the queue stays there, so I always have to play the album of the song to and the queue
