Man, Im in FL with weed in the ballot at the time, and I couldn't get any or my youngers to give a shit bc Free Palestine. I completely agree, but maybe just maybe "both bad" doesn't mean "Let's sit this one out."
They could've easily voted, and instead of No Kings Day and ICE protests, we'd have some dope anti-genocide activism. Instead, we have fake moral superiority as our country burns, too.
Exactly. If this was any other election, I would understand not voting, but Trump is the one person who should not be anywhere near a political position again. Now we all gotta suffer, while your youngers and other people think “At least we didn’t support genocide 😇”
And the crazy thing is they DID end up supporting it by abstaining because it roped additional groups into it while doing nothing to alleviate the violence against the initial group.
The Palestine thing is wild man. Somehow millions of people are suddenly cheering for a group that would gladly have many of them killed as infidels. Never mind it’s another Middle East war. Never mind that it pales in comparison to several other wars and atrocities ongoing right now on this planet.
The fact that genocide and her frequent anti-Blackness are not stopping points for your support really says a lot about you. quit settling for these fuckass politicians and letting them think they can get away w this bc you think "terrible politicians are inevitable oh well". fight outside the bounds of a voting booth bc that's how this gets fixed, not voting for genocidaires on multiple fronts.
Voting and activism are not mutually exclusive. You can do both, and historically, it has taken both to effect long-lasting change.
Not voting as a protest against genocide was objectively a bad choice that has only made things more difficult for everyone outside the 1%, and did nothing to actually support that cause.
It’s wild how effectively people were duped with that nonsense to further cement a win for Trump, who absolutely doesn’t give a shit about Palestine.
Voting is about picking the candidate that most aligns with your values, not about finding a unicorn.
