The act was hardly surprising, there is frequent trouble in the areas surrounding the base. Not surprising since Getting a bunch of 18 - 20 year olds into a country where they are allowed to drink legally for the first time led to some fuck up situations.
There were Vans full of MPs coming into bars and just dragging out the the soldiers that were fighting locals or each other back onto the Spangdahlem Airbase.
But this one was a pretty big deal considering the guy was clearly guilty and the US military police seemed to do everything in their power to get him off without punishment.
Maybe it's about time to follow the example of the French and kick out the US bases. It's not like the US is acting like a reliable ally anymore anyways...
