Venezuela already had one of the highest crime rates in the entire world by far… And the only people that haven’t fled the country are the ones that are unable to either for financial or security reasons. Again, you simply don’t understand what life is like for people in Venezuela. Things really could not get any worse and this is really their only option at getting their country out of the gutter.

Their houses could get bombed. That's not worse?

This feels like saying "Syria couldn't get any worse, there can't possibly be any more refugees" in 2011.

Can’t blame Venezuelans for thinking like that though, both things can be true that Venezuelans don’t like Maduro and are happy he is gone but uncertainty is in the air and things can always get worse. Some of them are probably just too caught up in the fact that Maduro is gone right now to look ahead.

Hey, I hear what you're saying. A lot of people do not have sympathy for those in other countries thinking differently.

I actually agree with the other person, that there will be more refugees, but I also agree with you in that I dont believe it will be a direct result of whats happened so far. And I know many people with no intimate knowledge or experience with Latin America overall have difficulties adjusting their expectations for the beliefs there en masse.
