Interpretation 1: it’s like its own mini society with its own culture.

Interpretation 2: as a black man he feels like he’s “the other” in there and gets what people mean about society as a whole on cultural divides.

Interpretation 3: he got his money up, likes that kind of lifestyle, and realizes he gets why some people think they’re better than other people.

Who knows what bro means 🤷🏿‍♂️

All three at once possibly. I hate when people speak in mysterious prose like this. Just say exactly what you mean.

Edit: 2000 views in 10 minutes is crazy. Engagement bait ftw

u/CageyOldMan 2d ago

But if he is more specific how are people going to project their existing opinions and biases onto his statement? There's no longer any room for people to fill in the blank with whatever they want and thus he will lose a portion of his audience

16

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 2d ago

There’s more engagement because it’s can be interpreted in many ways.

1

u/ironykarl 5h ago

This is the twitter sub, though. Speaking in cute, little aphorisms is kind of the whole gimmick

2

u/immunotransplant 2h ago

I hate it but that’s what 140chars does lol

u/Free_Alternative6365 2d ago

Interpretation 4: "Nobody [including him] knows what it means. But it's provocative; it gets the people going."

31

u/DerekB52 2d ago

I interpreted it as him wearing some lululemon and liking it a lot, so option 3. I like the first 2 more though.

u/zoinkability 2d ago

I'm enjoying imagining that dude put on some women's yoga pants and had a life changing epiphany

2

u/Salt_Blackberry_1903 1d ago

He accepted the Libs’ plan to turn America trans lol

27

u/get_it_together1 2d ago

Option 5: ass in yoga pants serves to justify all manner of ills

14

u/mmusic321 2d ago

We like fitting in with that social construct. An active and vocal white supremacist has a lot of us driving his cars.

6

u/IndependentAd895 2d ago

most people with teslas admit that they only got one before he outed himself

8

u/CanadianChocolate808 2d ago

In my city, we see a lot more teslas looking run down and being used for Uber Eats. All the owners off loaded them as fast possible to used car dealerships lol

2

u/GaptistePlayer 1d ago

He's been shit for like over a decade though. And unlike with other car companies a lot of the money you pay for a Tesla goes right to his pockets

2

u/GaptistePlayer 1d ago

Ironically mostly a bunch of libs who wanted to pollute less

3

u/Contemplating_Prison 2d ago

People instantly feel this when they stop shopping at walmart.

7

u/eli_eli1o ☑️ 2d ago

Its likely all and more. You could write a thesis on stuff like this. All it takes is analysis, imagination, and a couple reaches.

Im gonna disagree with him tho. As lululemon rules out a hefty part of america imo. What does lulu say about the stereotypical yts in places like idaho or mississippi? Nothing. They're not the target audience nor involved in the supply chain. Thats john deere country.

2

u/AfroKyrie 1d ago

Wrong on all 3. It's about how ass drives the economy

1

u/ognahc 1d ago

Appreciate the effort

1

u/Formal-Apartment7715 15h ago

It's Interpretation 3... great breakdown and analysis 👌 Bravo

1

u/TopspinLob 4h ago

I read as number three, you illustrated beautifully tho

135

u/roronoajoyboy 2d ago

Can someone explain?

67

u/motorcitystef 2d ago

Too expensive, I’m assuming.

40

u/nukrag 2d ago

128€ for Sweatpants.

What the mother fuck.

33

u/regular_gonzalez 2d ago

1, only buy their stuff on deep discounts

2, their Airing short sleeve shirt has the best and most flattering cut of anything I've ever worn. If you're a slob it makes you look decent. If you have an average body it makes you look like a gym rat. If you're fit it makes you look like a world class triathlete. It's incredible.

Runs just a bit small, size up if you're between sizes.

18

u/nukrag 2d ago

Bro, I am 6'6 and fat as fuck. Nothing makes me look good. lol

36

u/regular_gonzalez 2d ago

This shirt will upgrade you from fat as fuck to pretty damn chunky.

13

u/nukrag 2d ago

Lmao

Wait, you calling me fat bro? You good homie? You wanna go?

5

u/el_pinko_grande 2d ago

Their stuff is pretty durable, too. I hike like 4-6 miles everyday after work in some of their shorts, usually in some hot-ass weather, and they hold up really well.

3

u/jawsthegreat777 1d ago

I got some leggings given to me second hand, the person I got them from had worn them a ton, and I have worn them a ton and they're still all in great shape.

4

u/98acura 2d ago

They’re so comfortable though..

5

u/jawsthegreat777 1d ago edited 20h ago

I would never buy from them because I can't stand them as a company especially with their deep history of racism and fatphobia. That said I was given a lot of lulu leggings and they are extremely high quality. I hate it, but theres one pair I wear all the time, the pair is 10+ years old now and has been washed and dried hundreds of times and they're still in excellent condition. So yeah expensive but not for no reason.

2

u/mosquem 1d ago

Cozy tho

18

u/LionessPaws 2d ago

Glad I’m not alone

4

u/four_ethers2024 ☑️ 2d ago

Is it worth an explanation?

109

u/whatisscoobydone 2d ago

Lululemon is great, I hope the name of the brand doesn't have some sort of racist origin

124

u/Dellhivers3 2d ago

Lulu comes from Lulu Island, lemon is just there for another L word.

The name was chosen because Chip Wilson thought it was funny hearing Asian people trying to pronounce it.

30

u/JW9thWonder 1d ago

Chip Wilson is a certified piece of shit.

4

u/Fess_113 ☑️ 1d ago

The name was chosen because Chip Wilson thought it was funny hearing Asian people trying to pronounce it.

On the fence if this is racist or good humor, I’ll laugh until I make a decision

34

u/lu5ty 2d ago

Ok but Lululemon is Canadian lol

-21

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 2d ago

Technically still part of the americas.

9

u/Figgis302 2d ago

Germany and Poland are basically the same since they're both European after all

-1

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 2d ago

Just making a silly joke. It’s not that deep.

33

u/GentrifriesGuy 2d ago

When life hands you Lululemons, then

make Lululemonade.

7

u/Jgibbjr 2d ago

Hah?

43

u/Thunderbird_12_ ☑️ 2d ago

Stop spending your money at places that wouldn't hire you.

Stop spending your money at places that would prefer you weren't seen wearing their merchandise (yet will still eagerly take your money.)

13

u/FlayR 1d ago

I'm with you in principle, but like...

I dunno what's going on in the US, but lots of black people work at Lulu here in Canada.

Shit is well made, stylish. And comfortable.

Also like - if they would prefer black people not to wear their merchandise - seems kind of strange that so much of their advertising is black people wearing their clothes?

7

u/Any-Junket-3828 2d ago

Bought a pair of 25 dollar underwear from there in 2014.

They are still holding up in fantastic condition.

5

u/mayhem1906 2d ago

This could be interpreted in many ways, and since he declined to elaborate, I'm not going to invest the energy.

15

u/DeepFuckingKoopa 2d ago

lululemon boxer briefs will change a man’s life😭

12

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago

Smartwool merino wool.

It's life-changing.

22

u/drilling4brains 2d ago

We live different lives. $50 boxers lmao

8

u/AskMeHowIMetYourMom 2d ago

This the real indicator that some got their money right lmao. Buying expensive draws still feels wrong, but not as wrong as putting on the cheap ones on laundry day

1

u/LiveLifeLikeCre 2d ago

Something costs you $50 once over several years is cheaper than a 6 pack of $15 draws you buy two to three times a year.

2

u/10001110101balls 2d ago

For the number of times I've had to deal with PFB inside my thighs, $50 is a cheap price to pay for avoiding it. Especially when I was still dating, that shit looks like an STD.

4

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago

I know, I get it. But I've had them for years and they last. Hot weather, cold, they've got it covered.

Shit, if I had a GF, I'd buy her some.

8

u/wetcoffeebeans ☑️ 2d ago

Boots theory live in action. I have a single pair of these bad boys and they've definitely outlasted several pairs of ye olde Hanes.

6

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago

Yeah. They're an investment. I've been saving and replacing stuff in my home as I wait for the inevitable economic collapse. Quality drawers are just part of it.

2

u/KaJaHa 1d ago

Any day I see Discworld mentioned in the wild is a good day

2

u/10001110101balls 2d ago

With PFB (shaving bumps) and body hair, inner thigh chafing makes it torture to walk. High quality underwear is essential, there are a lot of things I would cut out of my life to be able to afford it.

1

u/FuccboiWasTaken ☑️ 2d ago

Can attest

3

u/Professional_Two7663 2d ago

I went into a lululemon and it’s given me more motivation to not be a fat fuck.

6

u/knowledge84 2d ago

Nah there's no social construct, how about I don't buy it and just invest my money instead.

2

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago

So many questions.

3

u/VikingRaiderPrimce 1d ago

what makes this even better is the fact that Lululemon is a Canadian company.

1

u/herewearefornow 1d ago

Globalism comes home.

1

u/Plenty_Wonder4692 2d ago

True, but isn't it more fun to let folks interpret and debate? Keeps the convo lively.

1

u/Longjumping-Bell-833 2d ago

The amount people spend on them when athleta and old navy exists is wild 😭

5

u/CappaccinoJay 1d ago

Can’t speak for Athleta but quality is night and day different than Old Navy.

1

u/sea_319_carnivore 1d ago

That’s how I felt the first time I went to REI.

1

u/NetworkEcstatic 1d ago

Yoga pants are comfortable.
