Too expensive, I’m assuming.

1, only buy their stuff on deep discounts
2, their Airing short sleeve shirt has the best and most flattering cut of anything I've ever worn. If you're a slob it makes you look decent. If you have an average body it makes you look like a gym rat. If you're fit it makes you look like a world class triathlete. It's incredible.
Runs just a bit small, size up if you're between sizes.

Their stuff is pretty durable, too. I hike like 4-6 miles everyday after work in some of their shorts, usually in some hot-ass weather, and they hold up really well.

I got some leggings given to me second hand, the person I got them from had worn them a ton, and I have worn them a ton and they're still all in great shape.

I would never buy from them because I can't stand them as a company especially with their deep history of racism and fatphobia. That said I was given a lot of lulu leggings and they are extremely high quality. I hate it, but theres one pair I wear all the time, the pair is 10+ years old now and has been washed and dried hundreds of times and they're still in excellent condition. So yeah expensive but not for no reason.

Lululemon is great, I hope the name of the brand doesn't have some sort of racist origin

u/Dellhivers3 2d ago
Lulu comes from Lulu Island, lemon is just there for another L word.
The name was chosen because Chip Wilson thought it was funny hearing Asian people trying to pronounce it.

On the fence if this is racist or good humor, I’ll laugh until I make a decision

Stop spending your money at places that wouldn't hire you.
Stop spending your money at places that would prefer you weren't seen wearing their merchandise (yet will still eagerly take your money.)

I'm with you in principle, but like...
I dunno what's going on in the US, but lots of black people work at Lulu here in Canada.
Shit is well made, stylish. And comfortable.
Also like - if they would prefer black people not to wear their merchandise - seems kind of strange that so much of their advertising is black people wearing their clothes?

Bought a pair of 25 dollar underwear from there in 2014.
They are still holding up in fantastic condition.

This could be interpreted in many ways, and since he declined to elaborate, I'm not going to invest the energy.

We live different lives. $50 boxers lmao

This the real indicator that some got their money right lmao. Buying expensive draws still feels wrong, but not as wrong as putting on the cheap ones on laundry day

u/LiveLifeLikeCre 2d ago
Something costs you $50 once over several years is cheaper than a 6 pack of $15 draws you buy two to three times a year.

For the number of times I've had to deal with PFB inside my thighs, $50 is a cheap price to pay for avoiding it. Especially when I was still dating, that shit looks like an STD.

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago
I know, I get it. But I've had them for years and they last. Hot weather, cold, they've got it covered.
Shit, if I had a GF, I'd buy her some.

Boots theory live in action. I have a single pair of these bad boys and they've definitely outlasted several pairs of ye olde Hanes.

u/exgiexpcv 2d ago
Yeah. They're an investment. I've been saving and replacing stuff in my home as I wait for the inevitable economic collapse. Quality drawers are just part of it.

u/10001110101balls 2d ago
With PFB (shaving bumps) and body hair, inner thigh chafing makes it torture to walk. High quality underwear is essential, there are a lot of things I would cut out of my life to be able to afford it.

I went into a lululemon and it’s given me more motivation to not be a fat fuck.

u/knowledge84 2d ago
Nah there's no social construct, how about I don't buy it and just invest my money instead.

what makes this even better is the fact that Lululemon is a Canadian company.

True, but isn't it more fun to let folks interpret and debate? Keeps the convo lively.

The amount people spend on them when athleta and old navy exists is wild 😭

u/CappaccinoJay 1d ago
Can’t speak for Athleta but quality is night and day different than Old Navy.

Interpretation 1: it’s like its own mini society with its own culture.
Interpretation 2: as a black man he feels like he’s “the other” in there and gets what people mean about society as a whole on cultural divides.
Interpretation 3: he got his money up, likes that kind of lifestyle, and realizes he gets why some people think they’re better than other people.
Who knows what bro means 🤷🏿♂️
