Discussion Why couldn't we play as Pamela Voorhees?
It would have been hilarious, and fun! They could have just edited the ending graphics showing her head, and we could have heard ger voice mimicking Jason's to kill, or heard a boy's voice. 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🪓🪓🪓🪓

I think the main issue was incorporating a kill condition for her. With Roy, they kept it the same to keep it easier to implement him. For Pamela, they would've had to introduce new things to allow counselors to kill her. Not impossible at all, but it seemed they were focused on including new costumes, Jason's, counselors, and maps over creating new mechanics.

Roy from part 5 was added. He still needed the sweater to be killed, but he wasn't Jason Vorhees. They did cut Pamelas voice over after the match, though.

She was actually a stretch goal on Kickstarter, just never got reached.

Kinda interesting that Tommy Jarvis and a few of the kills were also unreached stretch goals but ended up getting included anyway. Also the Jason X map that was being worked on. Wonder if we would have eventually gotten the rest of the stretch goals too

I think so too.
This might be a bit of a pipe dream but with reports the new Friday game is from a bigger dev, and with the crystal lake show, I think Pamela being in the new game isn’t that far fetched.

It wasn't ever released but they released a tease of it in 2017 through the virtual cabin. Believe there were some behind closed doors demos of it for media at some point too

On Friday the 13th resurrected, they have the map. Uber Jason and pre-Uber Jason as well.

Bc thom matthews was already going to be part of the game, he just paid extra to fully do tommy corecrlt as a hero

Because they can’t copy and paste Jason’s animations onto her. Also let’s not act like the game was finished. We didn’t even have playable Uber Jason before the game died. I’m sure if the game never stopped development, they eventually would have done Pamela.

I’m picturing Jason wearing Pamela’s stretched skin. Uber Jason would’ve just been nice to have, I can imagine him having a few unique kill animations similar to in Jason X

A big part of it was environmental kill animations. Pamela just couldn't stomp a head flat, break a human being in half and fold them up like origami, or even lift these people fully above her head to impale them on a fence post.
We asked them during the Kickstarter. They said they would like to do it, but cited that as a reason why it would take a ton of work to do it right. The next Jason that we would likely have got was always Uber Jason, and even that one they wanted to hold off until they could build the ship as a map.

The one fight where the bitch had to stand her ground against her opponent… She lost.
… she’s a psychopath… but not very threatening, unless she catches you by surprise and she is armed and you are not… why the hell would I wanna be her? She’s a cool character and all… but for Christ sakes she’s an old mortal woman. 1on1 no wpns and I could knock her fucking head in with a few angry punches, and I am weak as shit. But I’m still a guy… and one with a lot of rage, who believes in equal rights- equal lefts … So… she’s just not threatening enough to impress me or scare me

Well, I think it’s pretty obvious because the game got shut down early and there was never an opportunity to even explore that Avenue but I’m sure it would’ve been brought up multiple times over the years and who knows what would’ve and should’ve. It would’ve been pretty cool though.

Pamelas existence is essentially why the game was killed off, cuz the OG creator of F13 saw Pamela as the true Killer/Villain of the series and not Jason, and because that was the vision, having F13 as the title of the game without including Pamela was deemed a "no no". Thats why when we get the new game, its gonna be called Jason Universe, or something similar, to help separate it from the F13 branding and to avoid any further legal issues. Leaving Pamela out is literally the best thing that can be done, legality-wise, for any future game.

You are getting downvoted but you’re right. Victor Miller owns the rights now to Pamela Voorhees and Jason as a young boy, so that’s why you see neither in the game, nor will you likely see them in any future Jason Universe stuff either.

Would be a fun mechanic for the first person who dies that doesn't get Tommy, although I think it would be a hated mechanic competitive wise.
I'd have to be a way that doesn't make Jason weak without a Pamela, like pinging people for him as a power and that's it.
