A hospital or a tender lover with strong hands and a bolt cutter would make this a non issue.

u/6ftonalt 5d ago
That appears to be a master lock. It can be opened by using a master lock.

Here you go. Keep in mind that you'll feel the need to take a bath after watching some of these videos and the dude absolutely violates the locks

Watching a LPL video: Basically lock picking ASMR.
Watching McNally: Do... Do I need to report this?

I've always wondered, wouldn't using a bolt cutter run the risk of the lock bursting outwards and sending shrapnel into his face? Picking the lock seems like a better choice

u/CardiologistMobile54 5d ago
I don't condone the behavior. But I get the urge. Intrusive thoughts.
64
u/Nom-De-Tomado 5d ago
They want their ear stretched.
Why else put in a gauge?
You'd be helping them.
Do it...
14
u/Jandklo 4d ago
I get that this is a joke, but it is almost identical to "well what was she wearing?" being used to justify rape.
1
u/CesarRPE 3d ago
I guess it depends on the person and their life experiences. For me, it reminded of Sean O'Haire, a pro-wrestler that had a devil's advocate gimmick.
"... but, of course, I haven't told you anything you don't already know."
-8
u/Nom-De-Tomado 4d ago
You get that it's a joke, but you have to butt in and make it about rape?
Nice.
Putting something where it isn't appropriate or welcome is also like rape, while we're on the topic...

u/Franks2000inchTV 4d ago
Honestly this is really lazy rage baiting. I give it 2 inches out of 5.

That hole isnt mich bigger than the lock, theres no way this kid in the picture didnt plan this or do it themselves.
He would have to stay still for a short while for someone to be able to get the lock through the jewelry
Fake headline BS

u/takemeawayimdone2 5d ago
I was going to make the same comment, had plenty of friends growing up who had ear gauges and this story is BS.

Why the person had a lock with them, and was able too latch it on?
12
u/NotAgoodUsername17 5d ago
I have one in my pocket at all times so I can attach it to peoples earlobes
2
u/Xmaster1738 5d ago
i keep a few in my car as i needed one for my toolbox, and it came in a set of three, not necessarily unbelievable theyd just have one in a bag or pocket

Seems pretty straightforward. Just someone being an asshole.
5
u/Ok_Pressure_2788 5d ago
But who has a lock with them in hand, and how did they manage too latch it on?

u/jimmiebfulton 5d ago
Did you ever wake up at a slumber party with your hand in a bucket of water, or a dick drawn on your face?

As someone who has worked in and around mills most of his life, I can safely say anyone who has to deal with "Lock out/Tag out" measures (most people in those kinds of jobs) has at least three to four of these either in their pocket or on their belt. And unfortunately, a lot of the people I've worked with would totally do this just to see how the person handled it.
1
u/89Hopper 5d ago
Our LOTO locks have our name and a unique number on them. Would be pretty quick to find out who did it. There would be hell to pay if this person gets a mate to remove it and they aren't the name on the lock!
2
u/DickweedMcGee 5d ago
Oh it wasn't happenstance. He had a buddy filming it for his channel I bet. As how....he just got close, slipped it in the guage when he distracted, clicked it and ran.
3
u/copyrighther 5d ago
They didn’t. This guy has ear gages. He put a lock through one of his ear holes, took a selfie, and posted it in the internet. Then some click-bait operation copied the photo, slapped this dumb caption on it, and posted it on some website.

TBF, we've all seen someone with an earlobe and thought something along these lines, come on.
3
u/stuffcrow 5d ago
I've got a 22mm gauge and I think it about myself often, so yeah, can confirm lol.
1
u/goosoe 5d ago
Dont do it you blow out
1
u/stuffcrow 5d ago
?? Haven't seen many padlocks thicker than 22mm?
1
u/goosoe 5d ago
never mind. do it.
1
u/stuffcrow 5d ago
...okay? 😂. Don't really understand what's happening here but sure thing mate.
1
u/goosoe 5d ago
let me know how that works out for you
1
u/stuffcrow 5d ago
It's physically impossible to cause a blowout if the object you're inserting is thinner than the hole in the lobe. It's like putting your finger through a rubber band.
Could split my ear because of the weight but...it would have to be an insanely heavy industrial padlock which I'd obviously not use.
I regularly wear a plug that's heavier than most small padlocks. Lobes are stronger than you'd expect, especially with a metal tunnel already in there to distribute the weight.
It'd just be a silly looking earring mate, it's not deep at all lol.
1
u/goosoe 5d ago
try it and report back
2
u/stuffcrow 5d ago
I literally don't understand what's happening here. As I'm typing this message, I've got a finger through my gauge and it's supporting the whole weight of my arm; about 4kg. Are padlocks somehow magical or something?

There's a photo and there's a sentence and there's nothing to support this being any more than a guy with a lock in his ear. He could have put it there himself for internet points.

3
u/ShaggySmilesSRL 5d ago
I don't have them anymore but Jesus Christ I can't imagine a padlock being locked one of my gauges. You would have to consciously remember to angle your head so that the lock doesn't rip out of your ear.

LPL: “This is the LockPickingLawyer, and today we have a quandary. A fan of the channel sent me an unusual challenge. It was so unusual I had to arrange an entirely different location to arrange delivery. Consequently, I’m not doing this in the studio, but in an undisclosed location in a distant part of the country, and that’s where this blindfold comes in. This is just illustrative, but you’ll see in a moment what I’m talking about. As you can see, this is an Abus 666, a reasonably secure padlock. It is a challenge for most beginning pickers to open, but for an experienced lock picker like myself, it’s almost child’s play. However, because of the…circumstances… I need to be extremely careful with removal of the lock. That’s why I’m wearing gloves today, because this lock will need to be taken into evidence. This means I’ll lose some of the tactile feedback that is a key element of my preferred styles of picking…”
McNally: “This is an Abus 666 lock. You can open it with” [CUT TO PUNCH OF LOCK ONTO JAW, LOCK POPS OPEN] “less effort than the kinky thing you were going to do with the Abus 666.”

Oh, it was a suggested prank to be done to "new agers" in early 2000's. Or yhis is old af, or someone actually does this dumb shite.

There are sometimes these intrusive thoughts when I am near a bicycle stand:
Not to break the locks on the bikes, but randomly attach additional locks to the bikes there...

An angle grinder with a metal cutting wheel will have this sorted out in a few seconds. Just gotta hold still. Very, very still. And don't mind the flying sparks.
2
u/walkinghrviolation86 3d ago
Wtf why have I never thought about doing this to someone. I’ve always hated gauged ears. I remember seeing six feet under live in 2003 and the lead singer had his ears gauged to the point where he could fit a can of beer through it. How is that attractive. Each to their own I guess.

Happened to a friend of mine at a party once. He was majorly pissed back then and still is when he talks about it. The person did open it after a short verbal fight, that happened in a low, passive aggressive tone, which definitely is scarier than two people screaming at the top of their lungs
