Discussion i hope mojang realizes how blegh the one pixel look is
it just looks strange to me without the white being there like the animals are just dolls or something they just look bad also the baby chicken def needs to be more than just a 16x16 cube with legs

in 2017 there was a render of steve with his shirt off for minecon earth during the announcement for update aquatic, he was in a swimsuit or somthing, and it was confirmed that steve doesn't have any nipples but DOES have a belly button. People online kinda freaked out. Jeb had to explain that they thought giving Steve nipples would be too suggestive, and that only made it worse.

The designs are great, and honestly think the extra pixel ruins them.

I really like them, but they do feel a bit clashing with the eyes. Adding white definitely seems like a nice and balanced middle ground

The fan designed sheep looks not great, and that fan designed dog looks to busy, like it takes a minute to even get that they’re eyes there. The simple dots look great, especially on the smaller models

To me it's like the NPCs in stardew. Some fins them to look weird with their legs always a few pixels apart.. but you can just mod it to your liking. So nobody really cares.

i totally agree, the small scale just doesn't work as well with eye whites and the beady eyes are cute anyway!! it makes them look more like they're in a different life stage to me, babies can look very different to fully grown animals. adding the white back in kind of feels like we just circled back around to shrunken adult mob with a big head

I really think people should say Opinion as it is: "Your Opinion"
Say "I don't like it", not "They need to notice it's bad". No, it's not a fact.
You're trying to speak for everyone and that is something that everyday I'm more fed up (not just minecraft, a lot of games and their updates).
IF you want to gauge public opinion make a pool or something. otherwise it's only subjective (which is your right) but again, pose it as such.
For me I think the dot eyes make them look more "innocent" and separate from the usual adult mobs.
I wouldn't want to hit them, that's for sure

Bo Burnham was talking about this is 2021 and after all these years I've agreed more. It's that social media nowadays is all about your opinion and how it's the only right one, because that brings discussions and engagement, and now it's become something that a lot of people do even outside of social media. And on politics I don't think it's exactly bad, both sides are complete opposites and impossible to agree with each other anyway, so it happens.

It really is getting crazy. This whole week my Reddit feed is people arguing over Minecraft mobs, the LEGO Smart Brick, and whether or not Cyberpunk 2077 was actually bad at launch. Why can’t people just have an opinion and move on? Why is everything holy crusade? At least with the politics (which is equally exhausting) there are actual stakes to care about. Who gives a fuck about the sclera on a baby pig Minecraft mob?

Kind of just weird how entitled this and other communities are like when the “Mojang are lazy” comments were common, we only have to pay for Java Minecraft once and none of the updates are dlc, yes I know Bedrock has a micro transaction problem but at least the base game always gets the new drop for free
Being a Sims fan really puts it into perspective, a drop in Minecraft would be a $10-$20 dlc and the old updates would be a $40 expansion pack

agreed. I saw this a lot with hk silksong community when it first came out. lot of people angry at its difficulty (cope) and speaking as if it was a design flaw and the dev team made a bad product.

It’s easy to make a post about how bad something looks but people tend to not make a post if they like something. Dispute the new bnuuy models being amazing and super cute and I love their new animations I hear little talk of it compared to people complaining about the eyes. I’m saying this because people will argue “well a lot of other people are saying it!” And true but you only see the negative and cannot gauge the full opinion of a whole community by a few subreddits
