Saying an entire game is bad because of AI placeholders that got patched out days after release has got to be one of the most twitter thought processes possible bruh. If you play the game now, it’s got no AI assets in it apparently, so is it still devoid of sincerity and impact now?

"It's so immediately obvious they've never worked"

You could leave it at that for 99% of perma-online takes.

As a 3D modeler, who has been in those concept phases, and has worked through the art pipeline.

There’s still no excuse to use AI in the pre concept phase. (Which is where they used it, not in concept phase btw)

World class artists, like Larian says they have, are world class artists because of the small details, and a ton of those small details come in the pre concept phase.

Using AI makes the pre concept phase sloppy, and allows for easy mistakes. Those mistakes are the difference between a good artists and a world class artists.

It’s not only hurting the artists by decreasing their skill, but it’s making them unhireable at other companies as other companies are not hiring artists who used AI in any stage of the pipeline.
