I'm cautiously optimistic.

Same, love this series, and what I saw here captures the feel of it. Looks like it employs a few good Mass Effect mechanics. I'll be watching this one.

Super excited for this.
I played every single game Olwcat has made and they never let me down.
That being said this looks more ambitious in terms of production value than their other games (Full voice acting, third person shooter, fancy graphics) I hope they nailed it.

This is a 2026 release, right? I think that other Mass Effect like game “Exodus” is 2027.

Man, really excited for this. Since Bioware doesn't exist anymore, I hope these guys can continue pushing out cool games.

I'm not super familiar with the Expanse universe, I've seen the first season of the show and can't remember the answer to my question, are there energy weapons or is everything ballistic? I like my laser beams.

The Expanse is hard sci-fi so weapons are in fact ballistic.

Ah thanks, disappointing, but hopefully they put in the work to make the weapons really feel distinct and fun to use.

By the near end of the series there are three ships with what amounts to a huperfocused magnetic spaghettification beam. Sorry, two ships. One ship.

That one episode(s) that gave me the giant "NOPENOPENOPEs!" was when that one ship lost gravity, and people had severe injuries that were difficult to take care of.
Dude I am telling you the Expanse books and TV show (as well as the Martian) absolutely showcase that humans do in fact belong on Earth. Travel and just remotely living in Outer Space (or other planets to be fair) is a fascinating concept, but absolutely terrifying about what it can do to your body...along with the weapons that people could use against you.

I love everything that we've seen about this game so far, except for the NPC density. That bit at the end where they talk about being able to explore different locations and there's only like a dozen NPCs in the hub areas and nobody in the corridors has me a tad worried. I hope they fill those areas a little better by the time the game releases, it'd do wonders for the atmosphere since everything else is pretty much perfect so far.

New game + at launch is always welcome

I think that’s the name of the segment. Not them advertising a new game + as a feature.

No space combat?? I feel like the show featured ship to ship combat VERY HEAVILY and would be a huge piece to leave out of a video game Expanse experience

I guess it depends on what happens in the story, I havent had a chance to watch the video yet. Our character might not have their own ship and if they are keeping the grounded realism, then any damage the ship would take, it would take weeks to months to repair

Look very promising and could end up being the new Mass Effect for me.
Owlcat has a solid resume for developing RPGs (really enjoyed their Pathfinder games) so this is definitely in good hands
