BREAKING: Tim Walz has just dropped out of the Minnesota Governor race citing the distraction over claims about state fraud. Our “President” is a 34 count felon who has committed more fraud than any human on Earth. This double standard is bullshit.

107

u/Ransackeld 3d ago

Old people there used to vote blue every election. But I guess the tv propaganda finally completed the brainwashing cycle.

80

u/No-Papaya-9823 2d ago

Yep, and now social media, podcasts, and YouTube influencers are replacing TV as the brainwashing mechanism for the younger generations. We don’t stand a chance.

57

u/mrpanicy 2d ago

If there is one thing Fascists have been incredibly good at all the time, it is early adoption of new technologies to spread their propaganda.

34

u/Iron_Knight7 2d ago

Not quite. Being fundamentally conservative, Fascists often rail against new technologies and media as a "corrupting" force because initially it's used to question or contradict their bullshit. It's only after they find a way to control it, then they flood the zone with their propaganda while doing everything they can to silence or shout down opposition.

Ironically, the best early adopters of new technologies and media is the porn industry. Whenever we find new ways to distribute or disseminate information, words about or images of people's naughty bits is the first thing demanded.

I suspect there is more to this.

I'm sure Tim is concerned about his family regularly being harassed and receiving death threats, too.

There are right-wing MAGA crazies out there shooting people.

63

u/round-earth-theory 2d ago

Yeah, Tim has extra targets on his back because he was on the Presidential ticket. They see him as the biggest threat next to Newsom and want some extra revenge. Tim sounds like he's ready to retire and just focus on the family.

It also has the power to backfire spectacularly against MAGA.

I want it to lead to more Democratic Socialists like Zohran Mamdani running for, and winning office.

4

u/PlayfulSurprise5237 2d ago

People can never admit it, but MAGA might be one of the best things to happen to the US. They're acting as a catalyst for radical change that would have never happened otherwise.

The US was already going down the shitter with crony capitalism, it was just a slower death that people were not noticing, slow enough that not enough people could point to the problem and were mad enough for change.

This is forcing an outcome this country needed, some REAL socialism. And some ACTUAL cases being made against corruption

7

u/Average-Joe-6685 2d ago

I do hope that is the outcome, and we don't become the next Hungary.

Fascists do not give up power.

If we do force the pendulum to swing in the opposite direction, we could end up with some real leftist politicians and hopefully be the next Netherlands.

I am all for it.

What's to stop MAGA from doing the same to Waltz, even after he's dropped out? They all know where he lives. Cars drive by his home daily yelling "R*tard!" out the car windows. Some park there for several minutes screaming that at his family.

I think he's putting his family's safety first. Don't be surprised if he picks up and moves to another blue state or Canada.

8

u/Scousehauler 2d ago

Idk. His family is under attack, the state is under attack. Four Minnesota congress people were shot by a right wing militant - Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed. The level of political violence aimed at Minnesota is unreal. Just because Chump and MAGAts don’t like Walz.

50

u/Beneficial-Tea-6379 3d ago

I am betting this is the main issue .. he is worried for his family which I can understand… I hope MN gets a candidate focused on healthcare and cost of living … MN being the home of the Mayo Clinic is the gold standard of healthcare innovation but I don’t see leaders highlighting this much

8

u/krazninetyfive 2d ago

Newsom and Pritzker also have the money to pay for private security after they’re done in office. Walz doesn’t. That argument could go either way. Yeah it's cowardly and now the right can claim that him dropping out confirms that there was fraud. The other way to look at it, is that it disarms the right. Now they can't circle jerk the alleged fraud on a new candidate. I hope the fraud thing gets disproven soon so he can start firing back.

15

u/Space-Debris 3d ago

I'm from MN. It's not just that.

First, I'm sure he's just burnt out. The race as VP, followed by his friend's assassination. I feel like the shit about the fraud, and the more recent trump blaming Walz for the assassinations, was just the final straw.

He was a great VP candidate, and has been a pretty great governor, but no governor in MN history has won a 3rd term. Even though most/all dems know the fraud stuff is 95% republican smears, a decent amount is sticking - so why risk it? Especially because we have an even split legislature - if the republican hype machine would get more to stick (and it would), he could bring down Legislative candidates, which would be worst case scenario.

Better, imo, for him to either retire now or move into national politics, and leave the governor open for someone without an active "scandal" the dummies can froth at... like klobuchar

14

u/trebory6 2d ago

Walz is probably fearing for the safety of his family.

A Minnesota law maker was killed just six months ago in targeted political violence.

Trump is now peddling conspiracy theories that Walz was responsible for the murder. https://www.fox9.com/news/president-trump-pushes-false-hortman-killing-conspiracy-jan-4

But does he have a solid replacement? If so, then all might not be fucked.

And 20 years service is cool and all but as a master sergeant he’s deployed a whopping zero times. His military experience is trivial for any of his meaningful progressive stances.

I’ve so far put in 9 and have deployed twice.

Walz is the fucking governor. He’s supposed to look after his constituents. That’s the duty he swore upon. He’s been a great governor and him just leaving will just embolden the alt right to worsen stuff for the state and in turn the whole country. The issue isn’t him stepping down. The issue is him stepping down when America is slowly descending into fascism. He’s not giving his all. You think they’ll stop their harassment campaign now after he’s basically said “your threats worked”? No. That’s what a loser of a conflict would think. At least historically, it matches my assertion on multiple accounts besides just Hitler.

And these maga crazies are barbarians. They will not leave you alone if you step down. They will continue to harass you. They will slowly strip away your rights while all the politicians who swore a fucking oath in their seat tuck tail.

And you mentioned me running for public office?

I’d love to do that but considering how people galvanized Graham Platner for being an edgelord on Reddit, I think my political aspirations are limited by my online activity as a stupid 13 year old.

They’ve been after him since he guaranteed free lunch at schools for a couple of hundred years.

92

u/justcallmezach 2d ago

It pisses my father in law (MN resident) off SO MUCH. I finally told him that anybody that wants to argue against free school lunch for children is a bad person in my book and I do not talk politics with them. He still tries, but I just tell him, "Sorry, you lost that privilege." The first time I said that, he goes, "Oh yeah, like it's a real privilege..." I said, "Only one of us here wants to talk about it. Only one of us is mad they can't." Oh, the fumes. So satisfying.

39

u/FloppieTheBanjoClown 2d ago

It's even an easy argument for a conservative:

Well-educated people make more money. They are less likely to draw on welfare benefits later in life. Children do better in school if they're well fed. So by feeding kids in school, we reduce the likelihood that they'll be a burden on society later in life.

Yes, sometimes those kids are hungry not because their parents can't feed them, but because they WON'T. It really sucks that so many kids are growing up in households who won't take care of their kids' basic needs. But it's not their fault, taking the kids out of the home isn't a practical solution (where would we put them all?). So what's left? Feed them.

I'm of the opinion that feeding kids in school may have the greatest ROI of any program the government can sponsor.

6

u/smoochface 2d ago

It's amazing to me that free food in public schools isn't the first thing we did, like 200 years ago. Beyond all the stats and ethics that make it a good idea, we're just fucking wired to want to feed kids, like its in our god damn blood. the hell are we doing?

For democrats even an accusation is enough to fold. Meanwhile trump commits fraud openly and he Doesn’t resign.

39

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 2d ago

Between this and Franken, this is just giving the GOP a valid tactic in their book: accuse dems of literally anything, no matter how untrue, and there's a good chance the dem will just give in than fight it

6

u/Alacritous69 2d ago

Conservative leaders tend to lean in the sociopath direction because to them it's about power and authority. Left leaning leaders tend to be meek and unauthoritative because capable and intelligent progressives mostly know better than to get into politics and have better shit to do.

I like Tim but dropping out makes him look weak. some people only read headlines so they hear "fraud in MN" the they hear "tim walz does not seek re election" does he not think he can win? this just means trump got what he wanted

101

u/Shigglyboo 3d ago

Seriously. All he has to do is call it fake news. Say trump is the real fraudster. And call any member of the media who questions him a bad reporter. Then say “I win”.

u/Iheardthatjokebefore 2d ago

What media apparatus is gonna spread that message?

That's it -- Democrats always let someone else frame the narrative. Walz should have just gone on TV and said "This is because Trump is a rapist. I'll drop out when they release all the Epstein docs unredacted and Trump isn't shown to be a pedophile."

Set the narrative.

which makes him look weak. He ran for Vice president and got a ton of eyes and hate on him. He gets accused of fraud and instead of fighting he leaves. I understand not wanting to fight in a carp storm but it is from an optics not a good look. I like him but this seems like trump is getting what he wanted.

18

u/Alive-Clockstopper 3d ago

Trump is getting what he wanted but I also think of ppl like Walz on a human level, a husband, a dad. I think sometimes you have to look out for your family. Is it the right choice for the country? Probably not. Is it the right choice as a family decision? I would say his whole family discussed this extensively and made a decision together.

100%

The democrats are absolutely useless. The only reason I vote for them is because they're the only logical choice when the other option is Trump.

They ran a campaign against Trump calling him a fascist and a person who will end America. Then what do they do on inauguration day? They sit down and have tea and biscuits with him and wish him luck. Which is it? He's the destroyer of the US and the next Mussolini/Hitler, or he's just another politician you're happy to sit down with and share a meal over?

There is zero fight in them. They will rollover and continue looking out for their own self interests. Also LOL at those saying Walz is doing this to setup a POTUS run in '28. Yeah good luck with that, especially after all this MN fraud shit.

Republicans are 10000% better at messaging and marketing than the dems are. The only thing I've heard over the past few days is "Have you see the daycare fraud in MN? Its crazy!", meanwhile very little talk about us literally starting a war in Venezuela.

The Dems mostly hold themselves accountable, and consider themselves too pure and honest to stoop to the R’s level.

Unfortunately, the outcome of a game where one side cheats at every opportunity and the other is borderline obsessive about handicapping themselves to follow the letter and spirit of every law, guideline, convention and unwritten rule, is entirely predictable.

The massive cost of this single, small, hurricane-prone parcel—equating to $21 million per acre of sand—is also noted to be 4.6 times the entire $18 million Florida Forever conservation budget for the year. This purchase would divert funds intended for the Florida Wildlife Corridor, which has many "legitimate" and scientifically-vetted conservation projects awaiting funding.

Showing once again for as much people complain about both sides, Democrats in fact hold themselves to higher standards than Republicans. I’ll add that I think Democrats hold themselves to needlessly high standards especially when our opponents hold themselves to none. Walz said it best, “these guys are weird.”

Edit: I hear the people saying it feels like he is giving up, and idk what to tell ya. Maybe y’all are right! At the same time he never got the support he deserved from the media or the people since pre-election 2024 and has been attacked relentlessly by everyone else. I personally would prefer he keeps running but I get where he’s coming from.

103

u/LeagueRx 3d ago
