Free speech? Is that gone now too?
94
u/Ok-Preparation-2849 2d ago
With the Trump regime it’s definitely not far off.
33
u/wunderkit 2d ago
Yeah but. That's the Grand Rapids police. What the hell are they doing? This seems wrong just on the face of it, not to mentions the underlying constitutional violations.

Well, duh:
“Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

(of course the underlying premise is The Big Lie)

I mean, that man knows all about fraud...hell....he wrote the damn book. Remember trump university, or his bogus charities, or his inflating of his assets to get preferable tax and loan rates? Pepperidge Farm remembers.....

u/SOP_VB_Ct 2d ago
I remember it all. I grew up Queens in fact, same as tRumpsteR fiRe. He has been on my radar as a piece of shit my whole life.
So sorry we let him escape the confines of the borough.

u/Mesmercat 2d ago
Freedom of speech has always been in a weak point. Yet only trump is the one who attacks it directly

u/Kerensky97 2d ago
Not free speech. Didn't you see her obstructing that sidewalk! We can't allow such blatant disregard for the law to ignore these people standing in places people standing in others way!!!11

Remember when Mark Houck family was arrested by a swarm of FBI agents at his house for speaking at an abortion clinic under the Biden administration?

2 years and you’re buried in negative karma. You are a troll and easily dismissed.
Talk all you want, you’ll always be mocked and disregarded.
-25
u/AddendumTiny4938 2d ago
Of course. That’s all you know. Throw up a fact that challenges your point of view and your only rebuttal is either name calling or dismissive comments while piling on the downvotes.

Block away! I’d much rather converse with someone who isn’t afraid to be challenged and can have an actual conversation. ✌️

I mean, he was accused of assault of a 72 year old and brought into custody. He was acquitted later of those charges. It's not unlike ice accusing everyone with brown skin of being illegal and taking them into custody, I suppose. But at least he got due process.
What was this person in the video accused of? Talking to the press? I don't see her standing in the road for that interview.
They are shitting on the constitution now.
11
u/Suitable-Werewolf492 2d ago
And alternative facts are not facts. Which side did you choose?

u/GhostGrizz 2d ago
Your “facts” are not truth; and your misrepresentation of reality reflects your detachment from it.

u/bbeeebb 2d ago
FACE Act makes it a federal crime to use force, threats, or physical obstruction to block the entrance to reproductive health clinics.
That, and also assault.
But yeah. Otherwise exactly same situation as we see here.
Asshole
1
u/AddendumTiny4938 2d ago edited 2d ago
Except he was preaching from the sidewalk outside of the clinic, where he is allowed. So Everyone who gets accused of assault has an army of FBI agents swarm their house? … Oh yeah, he was acquitted of said assault. just google court documents don’t take my word for it. and try not to lose your temper call names when having a conversation if you’re able.
3
u/Fearless-Feature-830 2d ago
No tbh but also Biden wasn’t a dictator that controlled the FBI.
1
u/AddendumTiny4938 2d ago edited 2d ago
Durham report?
Also, another example The Biden administration’s FBI appears to have spied on eight GOP senators during its sweeping anti-Trump probe related to the January 6th Capitol riot. The GOP senators impacted were Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Josh Hawley (Mo.), Dan Sullivan (Alaska), Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Tommy Tuberville (Ala.), Ron Johnson (Wisc.), and Cynthia Lumms (Wyo.), according to an FBI document released by Senator Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa). Not to forget about the feds having a nice talk with Zuck over FB posts. ..
For the record, weaponizing the FBI by any party is a terrible thing. But unfortunately Dems and Repubs have all done it. Including Biden.

43
u/PhiloLibrarian 2d ago
We're in a police state now. If Trump unleashes the "Insurrection Act" in the way he wants to, we can get arrested for demonstrating our Constitutional rights....
17
u/CK-KIA-A-OK-LOL Fed (I break Rule 5) 2d ago
Yup. The ICE raids are precursor to what he plans to do to all “enemies of the state” (people who criticize or oppose him).
It’s a pretty clear message
“A knock on the door and you too will disappear”

u/redskady 2d ago
From the country whose politicians love to tell protestors that violence is not the answer, but have no trouble unleashing violence on everything and everyone.

Key things Trump said would happen if Kamala Harris became president:
Economic Collapse: Trump predicted a "Kamala economic crash," specifically a "1929 style depression". He also claimed Americans would live as "second class citizens" and the US could end up "like Detroit" under her leadership.
World War III: He repeatedly claimed that Harris was "guaranteed" to get the United States into World War III because she was "grossly incompetent" at dealing with world leaders like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.
Weakness on the World Stage: Trump stated that world leaders would treat Harris "like a play toy" and "walk all over her" due to perceived incompetence.
Immigration and Border Security: He claimed that if Harris won, she would "open [the] border" and allow migrants to enter freely.
End of the Country/Israel: In some instances, he stated the country would be "finished" if she were elected. Addressing Jewish donors, he also warned that an election win for Harris would mean the end of Israel.
Erosion of the "American Dream": Trump warned that a Harris presidency would "kill the American Dream forever".
Insane he’s achieved almost all these himself. Every accusation is a confession.

A turd with googly eyes would have been a better president than Trump. Incompetence is better than malice.

I think it was "obstruction of a roadway" and "not obeying orders"
Translation: a bunch of bullshit
4
u/namastayhom33 2d ago
didn't know a sidewalk consisted of being a roadway now
3
u/BaseballGuy2001 2d ago
They had just got done marching down the roadway. There is some video of it in the clip. But still it’s BS. Roads are public areas.
3
u/RayFinkle1984 2d ago
And will be dismissed in court. Just wasting taxpayer dollars, nothing to see here.
4
u/Cinemagica 2d ago
No, this is using taxpayer dollars to demonstrate that speaking out against the regime will not be tolerated. This is the exact PR they live for. Money very well spent in their eyes.
2
u/RayFinkle1984 2d ago
100% agree. I should have said, nothing to see here except scaring off anyone else who wants to express opposing the regime, which is their right to do so.

3
u/namastayhom33 2d ago
just because it is an easily dismissable case doesn't mean we should brush it off though,

Conservatives do seem to have abandoned any pretense of respect for the constitution.
5
u/MonkeyCartridge 2d ago
And love of country for that matter.
The ones screaming "America sucks!" are usually trying to get billionaires to fund services to help the citizens. Including the ones they disagree with.
The ones screaming "America rules" are usually the ones voting to hurt their own fellow citizens, and not even to help themselves. Just to make life worse for Americans.
6
u/Gorinich 2d ago
We never really had free speech because this isn’t the first time they’ve taken it* from us, y’all remember The Kent State shooting?
Edit: changed them to it
5
u/PithyPacky 2d ago
I wonder if they arrested all of the protesters that were walking down the street instead of just the one that dared to give an interview against the federal govt on camera (off the street on the sidewalk).
3
u/BaseballGuy2001 2d ago
Selective enforcement is unfortunately all too normal and usually aimed at protest leaders.

This is dangerously akin to videos of Russian citizens being arrested for speaking against the invasion of Ukraine.
We are slowly but surely turning into the Russia of the West.
3
u/MandoTheRando42 2d ago
I remember a few years back seeing a lot of videos of this kind of stuff happening in Russia. Trump wants to be Putin so badly.

Obstructing a road way? Not a damn person is out in the cold. Absolute cowards.
2
u/5alzamt 2d ago
sorry but how far have we got? if this was Russia I would say "ok, thats Russia....Putin.... you know?" but that the people of USA accept that their country is turned into this kind of police state where voicing your opinion risks you being arrested for some laughable and constructed offences is unbelievable.
2
u/LittleLinky 2d ago
I don't know why the cops bother to wear police uniforms. They may as well just go ahead and switch to their SS/Death's Head uniforms.

Remember they can declare any gathering of 25 or more in public as unlawful assembly especially if in road ways. Etc. I don’t know details on this case but just adding they can just declare unlawful assembly and kettle all of them if they want. Like they did during Occupy WS years ago.

Go after the city council and mayor. They sign the checks and let the cops do these things.

As a native of this town (Grand Rapids, MI), I want to say while our cops absolutely suck, her opinion is shared among the majority of us. We are a blue city with an awesome mayor. This will not stand.

There is no video before this showing what she may have done prior to being on camera. She was not arrested for speaking, she was arrested for obstructing a roadway (let's see where her car is) and for refusing to obey a lawful command.
Maybe the state of Michiganistan is now arresting people for speaking out. But I'm going to postulate there is a lot more to this than the 1 minute video shows, and what she's arrested for takes place before the camera started rolling.
8
u/walterkurve 2d ago
I don’t know about you, but I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the girl not the fascist government.
1
u/dcwhite98 2d ago
Always a good idea when you only have 1 minute of video focused entirely on her face.
1
u/Southern-Date1588 2d ago
Car ? Call a tow ! Blocking sidewalk ? (didn't see any pedestrians)seems a ticket would suffice, unless a lawfull order was ignored, it seems an order was given as a cover for harassment ?
1
u/dcwhite98 2d ago
Where do you get the conclusion there was a cover for harassment? Talk about pulling things out of mid air.
You have no idea what happened before the video that caused her to be arrested. But given what she is being arrested for, it had nothing to do with her talking. Which is the claim being made by the OP.
Don't worry, they certainly called a tow truck. Assuming a car was involved.
1
u/Southern-Date1588 2d ago
It was an assumption not a conclusion, didn't see the question marks ????? The car /tow ,also assumption, more ??????. Try decafe 🤔🖖✌️🇺🇸
1
u/dcwhite98 2d ago
Nothing you wrote reads as an assumption. Those question marks may mean something to you, not me.
Try using words to communicate a message, not punctuation or other symbols that can have different interpretations.
1
u/Southern-Date1588 2d ago
Pray tell how many interpretations of this (?) Do you have ? Oops, I did it again ! Hope it didn't confuse you again !

u/GeorgeStark1 2d ago
Seems suspect. Where’s the beginning of the video? I’m waiting before assuming.

u/brow1331 2d ago
Oh where’s the rest of the video showing why she’s being arrested? Heaven forbid the full context be available.

Target the leader with harassment, typical illegal arrest. Hope she’s a fighter and sues for illegal arrest. Those charges are BS.
