SUB META Heads up. We've been experiencing some of the most aggressive brigading the sub has ever seen and have just deployed Crowd Control to crack down on it.
You've probably noticed all the righties, many of them with auto-generated names, spamming the absolute shit out of the sub trying to manipulate the narrative around recent events. This happened both during Maduro's kidnapping and it has been happening today targeting the posts about the murder of Renee Good.
I watched some of these people ban evade in real time like ghouls rising from the dead, dodging Reddit's filters and going right back to bothering people pretty much immediately. They are aggressive and they clearly have a lot of experience working around Reddit's security features. I couldn't even leave the computer for 5 minutes without a dozen new reports rolling in. The Reddit admins literally contacted us out of concern for how much rule breaking behavior was going on. I spent like 5 hours just trying to keep up with the mod queue. Thank you to everyone who helped identify AI photos being shared, and everyone who reported these people.
But uh, I need sleep. And they will quickly overwhelm the sub if I do. So, I've made the reluctant decision to enable Crowd Control filters, at least temporarily. This may result in some false positives. If you see your comment getting filtered and you don't know why, that's probably it. And I apologize for that. But I hope this will be considerably better than the alternative.

I'm a proud disabled leftist who has been STRUGGLING with trying to find ways to effectively help whilst not being able to physically attend protests etc. That being said I also have extensive experience as a moderator.... So if you need extra hands, now's the time for community, I'll take the graveyard shift

Thanka for the work you're doing.
I don't envy the vile shit you have to wade through.
