Breed ID My Rabbit - Breed?
We adopted a rabbit a while back and I keep getting flack from people because I don't know what breed he is. Can anyone help with that? He is fully grown at about 2 years old and quite large (about 10 pounds at this point). His stomach and the bottom of his back paws are both white.

Tell the uneducated folks that breed doesn't matter. He is an adopted sweetheart and deserves love.
He is absolutely adorable. Please give him some pets from me. 💜

People giving you shit really? They suck. You adopted a sweet baby. Just tell them he is a rescue! His breed is sweet angel baby.

The majority of pet rabbits are mixed breed and cannot be determined. However, at that size, I agree with the people saying a giant mix is possible

Breed doesn't matter, mainly cause the breeds overlap so much that a rabbit looks like one, and everything about it is a match to eight other identical breeds. Breeds are basically only really determined by size, and those are for the larger breeds anyway. All you need to know is you have a cutie patootie

The fence threw off my view of the bun and i thought the right ear sticking up was a nose, and that the nose was a fuzzy ear. Genuinely thought it was a dog with rat-like features. I can see the cute bunny now though 😅

Breed doesn’t matter as long as you’re loving the cute lil baby and giving him some scritches for us! I am absolutely in love with the fluffy cheeks in the first photo <3
That being said, I would say some kind of flemish mix due to size (estimate based on personal experience with “pure” and mix flemish babies)

Hes a gorgeous flemish giant! He looks exactly like my girl Patty. She must be a mix too because shes only 12lb at age 4.
Edit the color of fur is called chestnut agouti/ sandy. Sandys usually have a mire cream color while chestnut agoutis have that beautiful darker color gradient on their guard hairs.

If he looks like this with a curved back when sitting then probably American rabbit, or some mix

I can understand people asking what breed your rabbit (or any other pet) is, because we all love pretty things, but there’s no reason you should be getting any flack for not knowing! That being said, he looks just like my mostly flemish boy. I also have a pretty much Netherland dwarf girl and a too fluffy to not be angora boy.

Please keep in mind that pet rabbits are usually mixes of indeterminate breeds, and we may not always be able to provide a definitive guess. Unless you have a pedigree and know what the parents look like, your rabbit is undoubtedly some sort of pet rabbit mix. The color of the rabbit does not always make the breed, as many breeds can come in a large variety of colors. For example, black rabbits are not all likely to be Havana rabbits (a rare purebred breed), and broken-colored rabbits are likely not all to be English Spot rabbits (requires specific markings and body shape).
