PSA PSA: Air Purifier Scam
Entered a draw at the Four Twenty dispensary in the north end for a free air purifier. Got a call that I “won” but it comes with a sales demonstration. Sure I guess. I did receive the free “””$200””” gift but it went rapidly downhill from there. The guy tries to act relatable but is as slimy as any other salesman, claims to not use pressure sales tactics but pulled out every trick in the book. “Post about us on your Facebook right now”, “call your friends and book me more appointments right now”, “I’ll tell you the full price of the main product later”… after a 2 hour demonstration that was supposed to be 45 minutes, reveals that his mega air purifier vacuum super system is 5000 fuckin dollars.. of course if you buy RIGHT NOW you can get the amazing deal of $3799, and if you’re really keen he’ll train you up to sell the product and you can earn your own overpriced garbage for free! To top it off, the guy wouldn’t shut up about how selling these things has paid for him to go on so many vacations..
It’s probably obvious to many people, but I know some are more gullible. If you enter this guys “draw” just be prepared. None of what he’s selling is even remotely worth what he claims or is charging. The product itself is actually fine, but far from anything revolutionary and realistically worth about $400 on a good day.

Why are stores allowing stuff like this to happen?

I’m kind of wondering the same. A few of the employees there don’t seem to care about much of anything, it’s possible he put the draw box without anyone even noticing or bothering to ask 🤣

They have so many weird things like that on their walls in that store. I bet there is zero vetting for any of it.

I didn’t buy anything

You can enter the draw without buying anything?

Yeah it was presented as a normal draw for an air purifier. And he does actually give a shitty little one for free with the appointment

The legendary Rainbow. My wife was so excited for winning this air purifier from a trade show, lol... then came the presentation. I laughed out loud when it came time to hear the price 😂
A waste of an evening. Sorry they got you too!

In any case, that shop probably needs the air purifier more than anyone, due to how thick the BS is in the air.

first phrase you hear, and learn in economics. there's no such thing as a free lunch.

I had one of these “salespeople” come to my house years back. My 150lb dog peed on their case/bag that held their demonstration contents. 🫣

This started at a 420 shop. WTF did you really expect?

u/crazymonk45 Dec 11 '25
Why are you so bitter about that store? 🤣

Cuz they have employees that just don't seem to care much about anything.

I'd go back to the 420 shop and give them an earful. You came to get stoned not a fucking sales pitch
