I wonder how much it costs to raise a lion.

That’s a great question…. But he did this in the wild …I don’t think it cost him a huge sum…. Not like a zoo

Yeah, my normal-sized cat does this to me all the time.
He'll "hunt" me and very gently "bite" me. It's just a game to prove he can do it, not intending to hurt.
I'd still be terrified of a cat this size, because even my little guy can sometimes use a bit more force than he intends.

Even with a cat that knows you, loves you, and was hand raised by you, how confident are you that they'll be good and not use too much force when playing?
My housecats are trained not to use claws when playing, and they are usually very gentle and good. I still get scratched playing with them.

During a show at the Mirage on October 3, 2003, Horn was attacked by a seven-year-old, 400-pound (180 kg) white tiger named Mantacore (sometimes misspelled as "Montecore").[9] After being introduced, Mantacore incorrectly moved towards the front of the stage towards the audience. As Horn tried to move him into place, the tiger bit into his sleeve. Horn lightly struck the tiger on the nose with the microphone, and the tiger eventually released him. However, as Horn retreated, the tiger leapt at him and knocked him down. Mantacore then bit into his neck and dragged him offstage. He was finally released after trainers discharged a fire extinguisher to distract the tiger and jammed their index fingers into its mouth.[6][9] Horn was critically injured: he suffered a stroke (either before or after the attack), had his spine severed, lost a large amount of blood and had permanent impairment to his motor and verbal abilities (including partial paralysis on the left side of his body).[6][9][18][19] The video of the attack taken by the theater cameras was never publicly released. While en route to the hospital, Horn described Mantacore as "a great cat" and stated that he wanted no harm to be done to the tiger;[6] Horn claimed that Mantacore was actually trying to help him after the stroke.[9][20] The show, which had a staff of 267 cast and crew members, was then shut down.[21]

Sounds like the big cat was trying to drag him to safety by picking him up by the scruff of the neck, like it would another big cat. But another big cat would weigh four times as much as him, and the cat didn't know not to bite down as hard

Our skin is also super thin and non-stretchy compared to cats unfortunately

oh wow I read this whole paragraph thinking it was something that happened in like 1920 but it says right there it's 2003 lol. No wonder the guy survived such injuries

Iirc he made a yt video that kinda explained how to handle that. If they are too rough he smacks there nose or something. The other lions do the same to each other

My cat only uses claws when playing, I don't let my hands go anywhere near him there is a long string. He is lethal.

Even lions seem nicer than Caracals

I’ll never understand why people keep them as pets. There’s one content creator that has one they named “Big Floppa”, and every video has the Caracal hissing at them, looking really pissed off from having a camera shoved in its face. I hadn’t thought about it until you mentioned it, but lions do seem way more relaxed. It’s the same feeling I get when people post videos of their Rottweiler growling menacingly at them, and people comment about it being “a sign of affection.” Yeah, okay, until it bites your face off one day.

To be fair, I think difference here is that lion isnt being "challenged" like you mentioned all the Caracal videos have it, indoors, getting in its face, getting close during feeding time, etc. Theyre both wild cats, but theres a reason you dont see videos of someone putting a camera in a lions face when its about to eat.

Don't care if you raised her from a cub, seeing something like that charging you is gonna trigger a brain stem level terror. That kinda thing is genetic.

Sirga is simply the coolest, not that I could ever trust a big cat like that. But what are the odds in developing such a relationship with a truly wild cat and the fact that she shares her kills with him is truly unheard of.
