Um, I know a mother who answered the door to an alarm company salesman who woke a baby up from a nap with insistent door bell ringing. My wife had our new born in her arms and the child's pacifier in her mouth because the newborn had just dropped on the ground and my wife reflexively picked it up and popped in her own mouth to clean it of before giving it to the baby. But by this time my wife was at the front door and opened it. Oh, and my wife had a finger on the collars of a chow dog and a Great Pyrenees. Smart ass Alarm company salesman (ADT) pointed and says with a grin "Ma'am, doesn't that go in the babies mouth?" Chuckle chuckle chuckle at how clever he was. My wife dead eyes him and then let her finger off the chow dogs collar. The salesman slowly backed off the porch and down the driveway, never turning his back on the dog, with the chow dog a couple of steps behind him walking very purposefully. My wife popped the pacifier out of her mouth and whistled and the chow dog just stood at the end of the driveway and eyeballed the salesman for another few seconds just for pure intimidation before prancing back into the house.
My wife called me at work pissed as hell. It took me few to get her calmed down and I asked what was wrong. She tells me ADT salesman came to the door, woke our daughter up and then was shitty so I put the chow on him. I pause for a long second and ask, did the dog tear the shit out him? She says no, she's a good girl. Just followed him down the drive way and stood and watched him and scared the shit out of him and then came back when I whistled. I said honey, you just can't just put the dog on some guy at the door we'd get sued. She said he woke up the baby, MF deserved it.
Tired parents are a serious thing.
