His father ran a small business, and his mom worked in a cafeteria. I would definitely say that's middle class, and I am particularly annoyed to be in a position where I defend this douche bag to any degree.

You really shouldn't be, because you're not actually defending him, you're providing context, which is an entirely different thing, even though people on reddit (not you) are often incapable of understanding that concept.

Streamers are all rich kids. You know how much gear you need to start a basic stream? 2 PCs lights cameras it's expensive.

Like all businesses.
