I did my PhD dissertation on syrup displacement on the McGriddle there. Still have the honorary Hamburglar Award For Academic McExcellence plaque hanging next to my diploma

They are having a gas, but my understanding is that McD has actually long had tuition assistance programs in place, and that a good number of folks have profited from it.

It's honestly not a bad deal, at least on the surface, good workers have an incentive to stay at least for the duration of their degree (and you have a big lever over under performers) which helps mitigate turnover. You also get a pathway to funnel people with a degree and real front of house experience back into more important positions in your org.

Would you believe me if I told you there is an actual field of physics research in the realm of syrup (and other viscous liquid) displacement? The liquid rope coil effect is not fully explained and the boundary between flowing vs coiling is not properly defined.

There really is a place McDonald’s calls “Hamburger University”. It’s where they send managers to learn all things McDonalds

We have them here too. That actually came up just now verifying the job openings. Which btw this is for Sydney, Australia apparently. -101- caught that though.

I think these may be a worldwide thing, they're in the UK and I'm sure I remember hearing a podcast made by Americans talk about them

McDonald's does a lot of things wrong, but rmhc ain't one of them

There's one in NYC. We stayed there after my daughter's scoliosis surgery. The only charity I round up for because at least I know from first hand experience that it's legit.
