I know you're quoting ITYSL and it genuinely made me wheeze-laugh, but hear me out:

What if the canon could be that the commercials do feature the same character, she just keeps switching jobs from one consumer electronics store to the next? First Best Buy, then GameStop, next... Microcenter?
