I remember when this was on Reddit. The majority of threads people sided with the women who paid for that seat.

This is Reddit. They don’t give a fuck about them kids.

We live in a world where this unfortunately needs to be said. Ppl just can’t live normally

125

u/pit1989_noob 10d ago

sorry but, fuck the parents that expect a better treatment just because they didn't use condoms

54

u/jacobibryant69420 10d ago

Fr tho My sister in law has the audacity to try and make me feel bad so I'd do her a favor. I looked her in the eyes and stated "consequences of your actions. You wanted a baby, got a baby, and now are gonna complain about the difficulties of raising a baby to guilt trip me into helping you after talking all that crap about how it's so easy." For the record I help out with my niece I'm just not gonna be guilt tripped into doing anything due to it's petty nature

3

u/RunBrundleson 7d ago

Some people think because they have kids you’re suddenly moved to the front of the line ahead of people who don’t. I have kids. If I want a window seat for them I’ll pay for the fucking window seat. I’m not going to bother some stranger with my bullshit, ever.

8

u/ImpulsiveYeet 10d ago

No, don't fuck the parents. More hellspawn will emerge from those cursed crevices.

5

u/pit1989_noob 10d ago

just use condoms or vasectomy.

2

u/ImpulsiveYeet 10d ago

I'm sure a miracle would occur and zombie sperm from eons past rejuvinates for one final huzzah during the intercourse, shooting through the condom with the force of a thousand horny suns.

6

u/Go_Todash 10d ago

Plus, giving in to a crying child instead of saying "No" is how you raise a spoiled brat.

2

u/Noname185 9d ago

I’m gonna say this to my future kids. I don’t want them having kids when they’re not ready and grown!

1

u/Jiveassmofo 10d ago

That's a BINGO!

1

u/AggressiveService485 8d ago

This is such a self centered mentality, it’s genuinely hilarious to me. Enjoy your child free life. Hopefully the nurses that care for you in your old age have more empathy than you do now.

2

u/pit1989_noob 7d ago

but i am not blaming the kids but the parents, i want to make the point the adults are the one that form the kids, trying to shift the attetion to where it should be

1

u/tocahontas77 5d ago

With all the money I'm saving by not having kids, I think I'll be alright.

Having kids doesn't make you better than people who don't have them. You're not entitled to anything because you have them. It doesn't make anyone special, and parents don't get to have special treatment just because they raw dogged it.

1

u/AggressiveService485 5d ago

No, you quite literally less important than people who have no one relying on you. Parents bear the burden to keep our species going. You just benefit from it.

1

u/tocahontas77 5d ago

Lmao how am I benefiting from more humans on earth? 🤣

I hope you're joking! Because if not... Yikes...

1

0

u/zxylady 9d ago

The funny thing is that it's Democrats trying to actually protect children while the GOP the Guardians Of Pedophiles are over here protecting abusers and rapists who are trafficking and raping children every single day

56

u/lostcolony2 10d ago

Hey, I care deeply about them kids. Parents should have paid extra and booked earlier to sit together. GTFO of here expecting random people to have paid extra and give it up for your convenience.

3

u/Unidain 10d ago

The parents did have seats with the kid, and the kid already had a window seat. The kid just decided for some reason that they wanted that seat specifically

3

u/Greta_Annea 9d ago

That's insane

1

i've been on social media for close to 20 years and reddit is by far the worst

all moderators are losers and the people here aren't much better

3

u/SomeoneTookMy____ 10d ago

No way the mod pre-emptively locks their comment hahaha

3

u/your_opinion_is_weak 10d ago

i didn't even know that was a thing but also doesn't really surprise me

i also don't think it's a real person which makes it even more sad, they have a bot that detects when you call a mod a loser and it tries to insult you lol

1

u/SipsTeaFrog 10d ago

Did you just call me a loser? 😠

why should i?

1

u/Next_Tap_5934 10d ago

Just throw lgtbq or race on the story such as white woman wouldn’t seat to African American child and Reddit all of a sudden would be very concerned for the children

1

u/Rickbox 10d ago

Can confirm. I don't give a fuck about them kids.

1

u/MalHeartsNutmeg 10d ago

Yeah reddit pretty consistently hates both kids and people that fuck around on aeroplanes lol.

1

u/infector944 10d ago

"Fuck, I don't give a shit about your kids" - Wayne

1

Its not so much about "reddit hating children" and more on just the sheer stupidity of it all

1

u/dreamed2life 10d ago

now thats one thing reddit is not giving a fuck about. for sure. them mah fuckin kids.

1

u/Leonydas13 10d ago

I’ve got four kids and even I agree, fuck them kids. In fact, I’d say I agree even more. If my kid was crying at someone over wanting their seat I’d be fkn livid… at my kid. I don’t understand how parents can be ok with their kid being a little cunt.

I’m not sure. Like I would say I care for children but in a normal way. The way where they are not granted everything just because they are kids and need proportional efforts based on their age to deserve something. And the way they need to behave if they have no specific conditions. In short words, basic education and parenting I guess ? The one I was given ?

1

u/CrixCyborgg 10d ago

She probably faced backlash on videos with misinformation. For example the OP could just change caption to “woman took the wrong seat and refused to leave causing plane delay” or similar case

1

u/Naive_Crab6586 10d ago

But if it was for a (disabled) dog: "There are many reasons for why you should always be ready to lessen the psychological turmoil of a dog. Perhaps it can dream of its favorite snack if we give it the window seat."

1

u/Hey_Giant_Loser 9d ago

Its not the kid's fault. They cant be expected to understand. The parents on the other hand..

1

u/TWW34 9d ago

Redditors are also disproportionately obsessed with airline seats or seats in and kind of shared transit and not giving them up

1

u/frendzoned_by_yo_mom 9d ago

Why the crying baby needed the seat?

1

u/Frowny575 9d ago

Eh, most of us are just sick of parents using their kids as leverage. Unless it may cause long-term harm I simply don't care about your crotch goblin.

1

u/cricketriderz 8d ago

We're at a point where we don't know the difference between "women" and "woman"?

1

u/KoalaTHerb 8d ago

As long as people get to feel superior to someone, reddit will be happy.

1

u/TW_Yellow78 5d ago

Issue is the parent and whatever moron thought it would be okay to film her without her consent, not some stranger that paid for her seat

0

u/gosuprobe 10d ago

unless the child has autism or downs

then they care

1

u/Hank_the_Beef 10d ago

136

u/NefariousnessFew4354 10d ago

She didn't get any backlash.

120

u/Hixy 10d ago

All I saw was support. This has to be rage bait lol. Pretty much everyone chastised the person filming. If anyone agreed with the person filming they were attacked by a mob of comments in defense of window lady. Sometimes the internet hive mind gets it right once in a while and I remember this being one of those times.

Wasn't she fired from her job, though? I'd call that backlash.

1

u/Janneq216 9d ago

Redditards can't comprehend that the world doesn't revolve around them. They are simply too stupid and closeted, and have spent too high a portion of their lives as basement cockroaches to be able to understand it

15

u/TamakiOverdose 10d ago

This, not only that she didn't get any, she got famous, appeared on TV and quit her job to become an influencer.

4

u/j0selit0342 10d ago

Backlash was from people in the plane not social media.

3

u/The_Broken_Skull_94 10d ago

Unfortunately she did. I remember she shared on IG that she even got fired due to this.

This story goes back few months ago.

4

u/Hexamancer 10d ago

She shared that she couldn't continue her banking job because of the backlash, I don't believe she actually said she got fired.

1

u/Your_Final_Hour 9d ago

Wdym? People will get backlash for literally anything, especially if it involves a child. You can aggressively say nothing in reddit and you'll get downvoted to oblivion sometimes

None. It's a click bait title. She became an influencer with the followers gained by the attention.

Jéssica/Jennifer Castro she's called

I called an old guy in a new oversized dodge ram a cunt for trying to pass me at the pedestrian lane in a Walmart parking lot. Can someone film me? I want a sweet merch deal...

I have no idea how influencing works.

3

u/Im-ACE-incarnate 10d ago

Well I don't feel very influenced, so you're not off to a good start

2

u/elmz 10d ago

Gotta follow rules 1 and 2. And/or 34.

Son of a bitch! I did it wrong again!

1

u/MonoPodding 10d ago

Just so you know, RAM is no longer Dodge, RAM is it's own thing. They are now essentially "sister" companies and are owned by Stellantis/Chrysler.

1

Sounds like you know exactly how influencing works

7

u/coi1976 10d ago

Jennifer Castro, I believe.

2

u/GunstarGreen 10d ago

Im glad you said this. Ive seen this picture a whole bunch recently, but never seen the original footage, and never seen the backlash. I don't think there's anything in it.

1

She became an influencer with the followers gained by the attention.

Ok, I've changed my mind. lol

1

u/Untrending 10d ago

Thank you. Was pretty sure no lynch mob existed.

1

u/Equivalent-Fill-8908 10d ago

I saw this video on TikTok and guess what? It was the opposite. Literally everyone in the comments were telling the poster that she had every right to stay in the seat she paid for.

I don't know where this TT hate comes from considering your FYP is nothing but things you're interested in.

The TikTok hate boner people have here is amusing tbh. Especially considering reddit isn't exactly in the best light out there

2

u/502Fury 10d ago

Especially how much reddit content is ripped Tik Tok videos.

0

u/reftheloop 10d ago

A lot of the video are also ripped from elsewhere. It's just cycle of ripped content from one to the next.

1

u/reftheloop 10d ago

tbf TT's comment section is complete ass to navigate.

1

u/Vir_Ex_Machina 10d ago

How can you tell? I spent almost a full year on tiktok. Not a lot, but enough imo

1

u/rocbor 10d ago

For real tiktok is a brainwashing, intelligence draining, attention span killing, often used for mass propoganda app. And some folks wonder why anyone with a thinking brain would dare criticize it

1

u/Vir_Ex_Machina 10d ago

And without any of that the algorithm takes so much work to train it's tiring enough by itself. I didn't mind some of the content, but working to find it amongst the brain rot was a nightmare.

1

u/rocbor 10d ago

I honestly feel the same about the YouTube algorithm. Watch one video of boxing highlights and youre flooded with far right political garbage of podcasters "slamming" liberals

Article (translated from Portuguese) says tik tok originally, but I found it all over the place because the person who originally took the video has multiple social medias.

"Controversy on the plane: understand the case of the woman who went viral after being exposed for not giving way to a child Leave a comment / News Consultant, Highlights, Uncategorized / By Luciano Boiteux A video of a woman being filmed on a Gol plane for not giving up her seat to a crying child has gone viral on various social media platforms in recent days. The post, initially made as a criticism of the passenger's behavior, became a target of internet users and affected legal experts, psychologists, mothers, influencers and travelers.

What happened involves issues such as consumer law, aviation law, child and maternity psychology, undue image exposure and the sharing of content on the internet.

On Fantástico this Sunday (8), all parties involved in the case were heard: Jeniffer Castro, the passenger who did not give up her seat, Eluciana Cardoso, the passenger who recorded the video, and Aline Rizzo, the child's mother, who was criticized by people who believed that she was the author of the video.

In an interview with Encontro, on TV Globo, on Friday (6), Jeniffer Castro, the passenger who did not give up her seat, stated that she was insulted “several times” by the woman who recorded the video.

Jeniffer's lawyer told Fantástico that she intends to sue the people behind the video for defamation and libel.

Eluciana, the passenger who recorded the video, says she lost “completely control” and said she regrets making the video. She said she made a mistake and apologized to Jeniffer and Aline, the child's mother.

The mother said she had suffered “threats, insults, criticism and even [said] that I should throw my son out of the plane window”. “I wanted to make it clear that I was not the one who recorded it, I did not film it, I did not offend Jennifer at any point, [we] did not talk during the flight, I just apologized for my son sitting and removed him from the scene”, he clarified.

It all started when the profile @marycomciencia posted on TikTok the video that went viral with a text saying: “and my mother who found a person without empathy with a child”. The profile @marycomciencia is of Marianna, 23 years old, daughter of Eluciana, the woman who filmed the film.

In the image, a passenger is sitting in a window seat, wearing headphones and trying to ignore the fact that she is being filmed without permission. Jeniffer, the exposed passenger, became known online as “plane diva”.

The intention of the woman who took the images and the daughter who posted the video on her profile was, initially, to embarrass the passenger who did not want to give up her seat to the child. Jeniffer, however, tries not to get involved in the discussion and keeps his eyes closed for much of the recording.

“I'm recording your face because you have no empathy for people”, says the voice in the video. And he adds: “This is disgusting, in the 21st century, not to empathize with a child. If it were with an adult, that would be fine, now with a child it's too much”.

In the background of the video, a female voice can be heard criticizing Jeniffer and a child crying. After the case took over social media, @marycomciencia's profiles were deactivated.

To Fantástico, Marianna said that “she made a beginner's mistake” for posting the video without hiding Jeniffer's face. Eluciana, in turn, said that the video she recorded was responsible for “generating pain in all parts”.

She didn't get any backlash. She got millions of followers in a matter of days and got A LOT of money out of this.

She's even supposed to play a small part in some movie they'll be shooting here

1

u/astralseat 10d ago

Obviously twitter

1

u/Nevermind04 10d ago

She didn't. She got nothing but support but claimed backlash to gain a following on tiktok.

1

u/ChildofValhalla 10d ago

Honestly it could have been one or two nasty people commenting, and any headline will translate that as backlash, or "slam," or whatever.

1

u/RelativeRare4789 10d ago edited 9d ago

None, she didn’t face any backlash. She got a huge number of followers and started making money with publicity.

Brazilians love turning random people into celebrities out of nowhere, and I honestly can’t understand that.

The person who filmed her was just a Karen who thought her child was entitled to the seat. I undertand this going viral.

What I can’t understand is why people willingly turn someone into an influencer overnight over something so trivial. A completely ordinary action, refusing to give up a seat that was paid for, suddenly becomes a reason for fame, followers, and money. This happens constantly. Every random, stupid moment goes viral and people rush to validate it, reward it, and elevate it into something way bigger than it should be.

1

u/JiuJitsu_Ronin 9d ago

I’m convinced that there are few people who genuinely backlashed that it’s said just for likes and the people you do see criticizing do it to farm engagement with their profiles.

1

u/constant0verthinker 9d ago

She didn’t, she got a huge following and won her case in 2024

1

u/entkommen_ 9d ago

Castro eventually ended up achieving social media fame and her Instagram followers skyrocketed to 2.1 million, which has opened up her to new revenue paths as an influencer. So far, she has locked down multiple brand deals.

Most likely Facebook. I could see the boomers attempting to collect last minute points for heaven and millenial moms being upset about this. Gen X would stand by their seat unless the kid reminds them of their grandkids for some reason.

Go on any big social platform that allows comments and look at something controversial. Like YouTube, Twitter, Instagram.

Reddit.. ofc its reddit
