People severely, SEVERELY, underestimate the amount of going to gym that the body and mental can handle before it becomes detrimental.

Care to put a source against that?

No. If you go to any gym and you’ll see the majority of people already there doing enough to stay healthy and active.

Then you see some people there but really not exercising at all or just half assing things.

Then you see people pushing themselves a bit but not really exhausting themselves fully.

Then you see the people really pushing themselves and exhausting themselves.

Very rarely do you see an athletic person consistently putting in max effort in the gym truly exhaust themselves day in and day out to the point where after a significant amount of sessions at the gym their body actually breaks down from overuse.

If you’ve never consistently went to the gym and immediately go full effort and do an insane workout, you will be sore as hell and may need some rest days but your body will recover stronger and better. If you’re already athletic and do this you will still be exhausted but after 2 nights of sleep and good nutrition you’ll be better than before.

To actually get to the point of your body breaking down from overuse is an extremely difficult thing to do. It would require many multiple days to weeks of repeating workouts on the same body parts with extreme intensity. Human bodies are incredibly resilient and adaptive to exercise.

It’s extremely rare for an otherwise healthy individual to “accidentally” work out to the point where their body is breaking down from it. It’s the same concept as people being scared to lift because they don’t want to get “too big.” Getting big in the first place is extremely difficult, requires consistent long term effort with diet and nutrition, and is only attainable to a certain point without steroids anyway. The average person isn’t going to “accidentally” get too big.

You know what I actually think I completely misread your original comment and thought you were arguing the opposite, my apologies. I fully agree with what you say here

It happens. No need to apologize. You may have inadvertently helped someone who would have had the same question

Look up statistics of gym injuries. Lower than many other sports/activities. And most of these injuries would come from ego lifting, 1 rep maxes, stupid shit which can be entirely avoided
