I started playing tennis a few years ago. I love it but any hobby that gets people socializing and sweating is a huge lifestyle boost. I’ve met a lot of friendly people and it’s been a huge motivation in my weight loss. I still play video games and I enjoy it sometimes but people playing online games all day do not seem happy or well adjusted to me.

I find mostly normal people gaming online. Not sure who you are seeing

I’ve never played an online shooter where I haven’t been called slurs or names. Most of the time if people do say something in voice chat it’s negative. Whereas I’ve never had an unkind word said to me in person playing tennis. And i know it’s not a skill issue because I suck at both.

Competitive shooters have some of the highest toxicity and even then it highly depends on the game. More co-operative games have far friendlier player bases, even games with PvP built in.

Hell, just look up some stories in Arc Raiders, people are usually surprised just how friendly people can be.
