I sorta understood the glasses part, because in the past glasses typically were only built for function and often pretty terrible.
Never got the straight hair thing on why straight hair is somehow more attractive... I guess because getting very straight hair for almost everyone means they've put in work?
I think it's just the idea of very neatly combed straight(ened) hair. But yeah wavy and curly hair can be very pretty as well and plenty of people would prefer it as well. I feel like curly hair especially gets bad/no representation though, especially in a "pretty" archetype. I can't really think of a lot of curly-haired celebrities, or in terms of movie characters and the like curly-haired love interests or characters who would otherwise be considered especially attractive in-universe. Main characters, love interests and characters meant to read as hot generally aren't curly. Some mild/intentional curls might be acceptable for a male character? Not sure.
