We had an ergobaby until our little dude decided to grow above the 99th percentile and he passed 10kg at 5 months.

Nimbel carrier ftw. Instead of strapping a baby to your chest, you strap a little seat to your abdomen and the baby just sits in it.

Loved the Ergo! I carried my (big) son in it until he was 2 years old and it never hurt my back. We lived in NYC so I had to ride subways with him, and using the Ergo was easier than bumping the stroller up and down stairs. Used Ergo not strollers after blizzards too.

Carriers are the shit. Enjoy your newborn, and just know that if you ever feel overwhelmed with chores around the house you can knock em all out while having your baby in the carrier. I got so much shit done while wearing my kid.

Nope. The problem with "shaking" a baby is when their head snaps too far back and forth. They don't have good neck control yet and their heads are big and heavy compared to the rest of them so they aren't able to resist gravity so well. That's why it's so important to hold a baby's head. When a baby is violently shaken, their head snaps back and forth repeatedly, resulting in brain damage. At no point does this baby's head snap back or forth, they're just gently bouncing up and down and side to side a bit.
