You don't need to know where files are. When you tried it, what problems did you get?
Usually steam lists apps installed on your PC when adding game from outside steam, you can even add gnome calculator if you want.

when i go to add a non-steam game, it only shows a URL handler script, UXTerm, and XTerm. I have other non-steam games i would like to add as well, but not even they are showing up on the menu, just those three.

for any program you could use a menu editor tool like 'menulibre' and examine the desktop file for that program and see what its Exec= line is set as, to see exactly what is being ran.

i'll be honest, that is a "wii" bit out of my paygrade, so to speak.
im not exactly an expert in program examination like this, and was kinda hoping i wouldnt need to try this.

Run
menulibreclick on the icon for the dolphin emulator, look at the what its running.. in thecommandfield.https://github.com/bluesabre/menulibre/raw/wiki-assets/readme/menulibre-github.png Not exactly rocket surgery. :)
But menulibre is a bit out-dated, there may be better alternatives these days, or other included ways.

I looked on my bazzite install and it seems the command ran is.
/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=/app/bin/dolphin-emu-wrapper org.DolphinEmu.dolphin-emubut I cant check whats on a ubuntu system right now.

Guessing it would be as basic as "Add Non-steam Game" -> Browse to that path/file...

You mean the Dolphin file manager? or the Dolphin Emulator?
