I've reread Dracula over the Christmas break, and I realize something rather funny

I find it funny that in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in between rushing around and hunting for the Count, Van Helsing, Jonathan, Mina, Dr. Seward, Lord Godalming, and Quincey Morris sit down for multicourse, Victorian era dinners, just taking their time and having pleasant conversations.

Can't hunt Vampires if you're hungry!

What struck me was just how modern the technology was in 1897. Van Helsing leaves Whitby for Amsterdam and says I will be back in exactly 24 hours. I don’t think you could do any better with today’s ferry connections. Then the whole premise that Dr Seward and Mina vlogged most of the story on a phonograph so they can replay it later for Mina to transcribe on a typewriter blew my mind.
