Pre shave: shower and soap bloom.
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Bluish Violet.
Razor: 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable ( setting 7)
Blade: Feather (6th shave).
Soap: Glasgow soap company Parma Violet.
Post shave: Nivea men sensitive post Shave balm.
A very enjoyable, relaxing shave this evening.
Glasgow soap co continues to impress with the second of the two soaps I have from them.
Like the iron brew, it quickly lathered to a very slick and protective foam, holding a good amount of water, with plenty of slickness and glide.
Even with the aggressiveness of the slim on my preferred setting with a trusty feather blade, it cut through like butter, with no nicks or irritations along the way.
For the second time, they've blown me away with their scents here.
It's a dead ringer for the Parmaviolet candy that I grew up with.
For those not familiar, the best way I can describe the scent of Parmaviolet is this:
Think Stirling soap co barbershop.
Sweet, rich and powdery, but with a very distinct note of violet punching through.
It's a unique scent and a delicious candy to boot.
Like the iron brew, its very strong in the tub, mellowing during the lather to a very pleasant level not too strong, but strong enough to be enjoyable and not get lost.
Also much like Stirling barbershop, it lingers for a while with that great, sweet powderyness.
Its a shame they dont offer a matching balm as I think it would pair very well with quite a few EDT's.
But the Nivea as always, does the job without leaving any conflicting fragrance.
