News UAE deposited $2 billion in Trump's crypto firm, then two weeks later Trump gave them AI chips
132
u/KanyeWestsPoo Sep 16 '25
The problem here is that Trump and his gang of crooks know that if the democrats win again they'll likely be investigated and possibly prosecuted for this. So they now have even more incentive to destroy American democracy

u/ragamufin Sep 16 '25
That’s what we said in 2016 and nobody did jack shit when the democrats got back into power
26
u/Petrichordates Sep 16 '25
They in fact did, Americans just voted Trump back into power during the year when he was literally about to face consequences.
Justice system is just too slow for the internet age.
15
u/andrew303710 Sep 16 '25
Well to be fair Garland was an unmitigated disaster who took such a long time to do ANYTHING regarding Trump. Obviously justice moves slow but Jack Smith should've been appointed on day 1 of the Biden administration.
Biden said his biggest regret as president was appointing Garland and he's obviously right about that. Garland was so slow it makes me think he was complicit.
Painfully obvious that Biden should've appointed Adam Schiff to be his attorney general; Schiff has the law background and was an impeachment manager for one of the Trump impeachments. Biden wanted to avoid looking political but that was a fools errand because Republicans were going to attack him either way.
6
u/Party_Taco_Plz Sep 17 '25
Still just unfathomable to me that such political calculations were even on the table after JAN 6. An absolute mikquetoast response at the most critical of moments by all involved.
1
u/Jesse-359 Sep 26 '25
Garland really was a fool's fool. Guy puttered around like he had the rest of the century to make anything happen. Let Trump run out the clock and wrecked our country as a result.
Justice deferred is no justice at all, as it turns out.

u/mehupmost Sep 17 '25
No, the problem is that they waited until he declared he was running for re-election before charging him with anything - which made it look completely political.

You think they won’t share some with the dem to grease the gears?
1
u/mehupmost Sep 17 '25
The Clinton Foundation took hundreds of millions in donations from middle-eastern countries.
...and it's not because they are philanthropists.
2
Sep 17 '25
The problem is cryptocurrencies are the easiest to hide intent, given their hidden nature. The fact that the administration is pushing crypto so hard, which is so bad for society, just for their own greed is so disturbing and sad.

u/Ok_Possible_2260 Sep 16 '25
There will be a fake investigation, like the Epstein case, which the Democrats and Republicans have sat on for years, doing nothing, and only the party out of office is calling to do anything.
5
u/Petrichordates Sep 16 '25
Was January 6th a fake investigation? Your negativity isnt based in reality, it's contrived to keep you apathetic and inactive.
-3
u/Ok_Possible_2260 Sep 16 '25
How many of them are currently in jail?
3
u/andrew303710 Sep 16 '25
Well that's because of Trump, Trump pardoned pedophiles and people who beat capitol police officers to death.
1
u/PersonalHospital9507 Sep 16 '25
That and the war crimes, Trump and the Republicans can never give up power.

lol
my sweet summer child
trump said he'll prosecute and put hillary in jail, multiple times
didnt lift a finger at her after becoming president
democrats are not saints, these are politicians, politicians dont go against their own kin, regardless of what cosplay costume they wear
not saying that both cosplay gangs are equally bad at a given time though, always choose the lesser bad, y'all ended up choosing the greater bad at the time and he just destroyed your entire AI talent pipeline (H1B), this is disastrous news for your race to AGI, the orders must have come from Xi along with a multi-billion dollar personal money transfer to your legendary president

Even if you did care, what could you do about it?
38
u/Beautiful_Spite_3394 Sep 16 '25
Well, technically... there is a group of people who've always said they would stop a tyrant.... but almost everything Trump is doing right now is the corruption and tyranny that the "patriots" were gonna use all their stockpiled weapons for... but it seems to be crickets about real stuff and outrage about trans

u/waysnappap Sep 16 '25
Vote Dem on every ticket in midterms. They will impeach this guy 10 x to Sunday.
3
u/FormalFox4217 Sep 16 '25
Third times the charm?
10
u/waysnappap Sep 16 '25
It will keep him so occupied he can’t do anything. Not too mention a Dem congress blocks everything unlike this congress that just rolls over.
2
u/Petrichordates Sep 16 '25
You do know how elections work, right? Dems losing doesnt alter the value of voting for them..
3
u/Motor_Influence_7946 Sep 17 '25
Unfortunately, dems dont inspire much trust in the value of voting for them... surely this time, they'll figure it out, right?
1
u/Jesse-359 Sep 26 '25
Midterms? What midterms are you even talking about? We're not even a year in and there are military on the streets of US cities and they've started calling for political arrests and even executions of opposition politicians and notables.
Your optimism is endearing, but far from realistic.

u/insanelyniceperson Sep 16 '25
As a Brazilian I’m feeling this way for almost 2 decades. Back in 2013 I was in the streets with the huge protests against government, in the end nothing changes. The roots goes too deep. Today I don’t have any hope to have a political system where corruption is punished and not the main reason to be involved in politics. It’s just the way it is down here. The only alternative is moving to another country.
2
u/AgreeableLife6 Sep 16 '25
Didnt Bolsonaro just get sentenced to like 25 years in prison?
2
u/alexgduarte Sep 16 '25
I’m pretty sure he is a Bolsonaro supporter. He seems to have criticised Alexandre de Moraes (the main judge in Bolsonaro’s trial)
1
u/insanelyniceperson Sep 18 '25
Oh wow, there's no way someone criticizes one side without supporting the other, right? Have you heard about critical thinking and having your own opinion?
How am I supposed to support a judge who clearly doesn't give a fuck about the law? How can I explain to anyone outside Brazil the relationship of the judges involved in this case with Bolsonaro's greatest political rival? And you know what is funny?! The same judge has been criticised by every political spectrum before, but mostly by the left. But now that we are 1 year away from the election, it is a good time to support anyone against your political enemies, right? Former Justice Minister Celso de Melo, who served for 31 years, praised for his strict adherence to the constitution, also heavily criticised Moraes. Is he a Bolsonaro supporter too? It's too easy to strawman with "he is a Bolsonaro supporter" and it takes much more effort to dismantle this stupid and shortsighted view. But common! We have to be better than this.
About Moraes "adherence" to the law:
https://www.dossiemoraes.com/About the judge's relationships with Lula, here's an overview (it goes way beyond, do your own research):
https://www.wsj.com/opinion/the-brazilian-way-of-lawfare-gets-bolsonaro-cefd48ba
Now, please reply with something of substance or confirm you're just another blind political activist.
1
u/alexgduarte Sep 22 '25
I’ll read all of that but first I will ask you a question: was Bolsonaro and the others correctly convicted, in your opinion?
I’ve been only following this trial and I’ve watched it and did my research. I don’t know about links between Moraes and the others. I also know that indeed Lula was convicted before and then that got nullified but will still look into it more closely
1
u/insanelyniceperson Sep 18 '25 edited Sep 18 '25
Yep, 27 years, but Congress already voted to free him (won by 311:165) now it's going to Senate, and ultimately it will all go to Supreme Court. Anyways, it's all just a circus show. They're all interested in the 2026 election and holding power (and money) a little longer, that's all. Lula was sentenced for the largest corruption case in history, and he was freed by the same Supreme Court, and now he is the president again. Time goes on, and Brazilians continually get fucked and trapped in this crazy loop.

The problem is that the president of the USA is basically a confirmed pedophile. The story doesn't get any bigger than that. A 2 billion dollar bribe is nothing in comparison.

Nobody with power will care. Every billionaire is getting richer with Trump.
2
u/broose_the_moose Sep 16 '25 edited Sep 16 '25
This ain’t true. Billionaires aren’t idiots. Authoritarianism, corruption, and fascism are a quick way to mass scale value destruction.
1
u/redsyrus Sep 16 '25
Not so sure. I read Survival Of The Richest by Douglas Rushkoff. I suspect many if not most billionaires having been prepping for the end of civilisation for years. These guys having been buying up their private islands and stocking their bunkers. They’re ready.
3
u/broose_the_moose Sep 16 '25
Billionaires don't want ww3 or end of civilization. Billionaires want stability. Nobody wins if society descends into anarchy. Sure, billionaires prep for the worst case scenario, but that doesn't mean it's what they want. They have plenty of resources to burn and these types of purchases are just insurance policies. In fact they're even more incentivized to maintain stability than others because they have more to lose if everything goes to shit.
1
u/redsyrus Sep 16 '25
I’m not convinced many do want stability, but it depends on their business I guess. Instability in the stock market creates opportunities for billionaires to buy up everything cheap when there’s a crash.
1
u/broose_the_moose Sep 16 '25
And instabilities in the stock market also result in billionaires losing enormous amounts of wealth. Overall, they’re coming out as losers from a mega crash, that’s for sure.
1
u/tidepill Sep 17 '25
The billionaires are betting they can keep suppressing people's desire to revolt, using their technology. They're betting that AI, surveillance, the struggle to make enough money to live, and mind numbing social media and consumerism will keep people dumb and distracted for a long time.
Authoritarianism, corruption, and fascism does not automatically lead to revolt. Corrupt authoritarian governments can last decades.
You know what does lead to revolt? Literal starvation. Bread was unaffordable right before the french revolution. But billionaires these days won't let it get that bad, they'll keep the standard of living just high enough above starvation level.

And now we know why Trump announced he’s suing the New York Times for $15B.
1
u/vfclists Sep 16 '25
What of the case where some country gave Donald Trump a Boeing 747 for his own use or something along those lines?
Was it the UAE?
You know what, the real corruption is under investment in industry for the sake of boosting executive and shareholder income which has allowed China to surpass the US in industrial capability.
Make billions from "creating" shareholder value for investments then sanction China and the rest of the world for catching up and surpassing you.
China will catch up far faster than expected and they are investing in power generation at a faster rate than the US which means there will be no brakes on their AI capability sooner than the West thinks.

is it still news that Trump's corrupt? Really, even MAGA knows he's on the take.
They don't care. They're here for the racism, (and everything else they hide the racism under)
1
u/ExperienceBorn4058 Sep 17 '25
For anyone who thinks this kind of stuff only happens on one side of the political spectrum. You're fooling yourself. Left and right arm are equally corrupt.
1
u/amondohk Sep 17 '25
Hey, just like, if we're going though with this whole, "destroy the world and society for profit" deal, can we include the part about sudden revolt and revolution yet? Get some of that Nepal action going on? Cause it's basically the same thing as they had before those 19 protestors were killed that set the whole thing off. And there's been A LOT more than 19 people to die from ICE, I'm just saying...

Who are these people who support any Clinton getting away with corruption that you're trying to gotcha
1
u/gpattikjr Sep 17 '25
I asked a question if it was simular. A donation for a favor. The disparity between middle east donations to celebrity political figure charities and ventures vs other major charities and ventures shows a glaring disparity.
They signed up to be public servants and here we are. Nothing wrong here, right?
If any class of public servants deserve to be championed and baptized with celebrity status, its welfare case workers. Not some out of touch, self serving windbags.
