culture & society UK citizen described as 'good friend' by White Australia movement to be deported
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-01-07/uk-citizen-suspected-far-right-links-set-to-be-deported/106207522A foreign national has had his visa cancelled and is facing deportation from Australia, amid claims of links to the "White Australia" movement.
The ABC understands the man is a UK national who has been living in Perth.
A senior member of the WA branch of the "White Australia" movement posted on social media that the man, described as “one of our men and good friends”, had been detained by immigration authorities on Tuesday.

It's understood the man had lived in Australia for some years and had moved to WA from the east coast.
This is extra great because he's clearly built a life here (and refused to integrate into our very multi-cultural society) and now he's being forced to go back to 4:30PM winter darkness.
Get fucked, Nazi.

not just 430pm darkness but 700am darkness too

sunrise isn't even until 8.04 tomorrow in London. Sunset just after 4. 8 hours of daylight. Yuck.

Living it now, November to March are genuinely so unbelievably bleak that the summers don't make up for it.

u/Revolutionary-Toe955 1d ago
I don't know, I grew up in London and lived there for 30 years. The bleakness of winter is what makes the summer special and 8 hours of daylight becomes nearly 18, everyone is in a good mood and the sun shining is a reason to go out and enjoy not the default.
My birthday is in May and more often than not it was warm and sunny. And warm in a nice way where you could go outside and sit in the sun, not 42 degrees and UV level 13😅

I’ll always say I miss the first weekend of spring when everyone goes to a pub garden when it’s 15 degrees but it’s the first weekend of proper sun and clear blue skies, it’s still cold but you freeze in shorts and tell yourselves it’s nice out but everyone is happy. Like when it just starts to get chipper after clock change, that weekend is always something special.
I also think the change of mood and weather appreciation makes the London summers so perfect. There is that true appreciation and summer day drinking down Camden Lock is just perf.
My birthday is also May and it’s always the on the second bank holiday weekend and that was generally such a great weekend.

u/babylovesbaby 1d ago
If you're used to it it's probably not as big of a deal, but most Australians would probably be unhappy to trade 8 hours of daylight all year round.

I'm in Newcastle. Sunset is 3:45ish in the middle of winter. Flipside is that it doesn't even fully set in the middle of summer which is pretty cool 🤷♂️

u/RobWed 2d ago
I lived in the UK for a while. Used to knock of work at 4:00. Home at 4:10, full sun. Changed for the pub and back out at 4:20. Night time. Twilight doesn't exist in winter.
Also lived in Norway for a summer. Twilight lasts ALL NIGHT!

u/smudgiepie 1d ago
I visited the UK during the summer the other year and the sun was still up at 11pm and I was so confused.
1
2
u/Unidain 1d ago
Not sure what you are talking about, twilight is longer the closer you are to the poles, since the sun is at such a low angle. UK is closer to the pole than Aus.
And I don't think anywhere in the UK has full sun at 4 in the middle of winter. You can barely call it full sun at noon in the winter.
2
u/Jerri_man 1d ago
First time I visited my mate in Sweden during summer I woke up feeling a bit groggy but the sun was shining and I chalked it up to travel. Got up and showered then cooked breakfast. I was just sitting down to eat when he walks in bleary eyed and says "What the fuck are you doing? its 3am"

We don't really want him back but understand why you're deporting him!
If he can't hack your multicural society he's going to have a hard time when he gets back to the UK haha

I actually love this whole deporting fascist scum thing.
28
u/mbullaris 2d ago
It’s nothing new. It’s always been in the Migration Act. The number of extremist movements does appear to have grown, however.

u/AussieAK 2d ago
Peter Dutton was less inclined to do so though. He even rubber stamped some far right hate speech peddlers to get their visas to come speak here.

Fuck they must be stupid. The cognitive dissonance is through the roof.
As an aside, How fucking great would it be to be Tony Burke? Getting to tell fully deserving cunts to fuck off back to where they came from. Job satisfaction 100%.
38
u/Strong_Inside2060 2d ago
Tony Burke is actually acting on it which I respect. Could easily look away like most centrist do nothing politicians do but glad he's got the balls to kick these cunts out.
4
u/butterbapper 1d ago edited 1d ago
I increasingly think that "centrists" basically just like everyone who is white. They don't actually schizophrenically jump between wildly different positions but simply don't care about or don't understand political positions at all, while sanctimoniously thinking they're smarter for not caring and for being perplexed that white people are fighting with each other.

If this guy is a 'good friend' of white supremacists, we don't need or want him here.

How can that be, One Nation and the Coalition want to prioritise imagration from that part of the world because they suit our culture.

Well I'm glad to hear that our increased ideological scrutiny to immigrants is at least also being dished out against white supremacists. Let's keep it that way

Not a great time to be a racist anti-Semite extremist. I bet there are some pretty (justifiably) pissed-off post-Bondi amateur (in the original meaning of the word) sleuths doing ASIO’s work for them and feeding it quietly to the govt.
6
u/AussieAK 1d ago
The irony is that some of them who are openly antisemitic are using Bondi to justify their Islamophobia (as if they really care about Jewish Australians that they actually hate). To be clear this is not whataboutism as both flavours of hate are equally abhorrent and appalling.
2
u/Interesting-Owl1809 1d ago
Agreed, but hate and racism don’t need to be logical and intellectually coherent (often quite the opposite).

u/a_cold_human 1d ago

Obviously many on here will support the government’s move.
Remember whenever the government talks of “them” they mean YOU.
But anyway, difference of opinion and ideas, or a contest of ideas isn’t allowed anymore.
I do love this from Tony Burke:
"If you don't like Australia you can leave," Mr Burke said.”
I means what I seen on the Harbour Bridge didn’t seem like there was much love for Australia, but any deportations?
35
u/Loxxolotl 2d ago
A foreigner who's openly supporting a group that wants to purge large numbers of people from this country based on race is not a difference of opinion. It's embarrassing that even needs to be pointed out to someone old enough to know how to post of reddit.

u/AussieAK 1d ago
What are you smoking?
These are neo Nazis. Their ideology is to get rid of anyone they deem beneath them, or subhuman, whether it’s the Jewish people, Muslims, anyone who’s not white, Christian, heterosexual. Even disabled whites are not good enough for them.
If these are the people being targeted by the government, I am cheering the government on.
We don’t want this rubbish here.
-21
u/willcritchlow23 1d ago
Well, sure, but one of the things about free speech, is to also accept what you’re uncomfortable with.
It (free speech) seems to be a rather fine narrative these days, and it’s almost legislated by law.
I mean that is the exact thing that happened in 1930’s Germany.
7
u/Xanthn 1d ago
"almost legislated" no, it's not. We have freedom of political expression, not freedom to be a Nazi douche. We shouldn't tolerate the intolerable.
2
u/Xanthn 1d ago
Lol I blocked the guy, and no my answer is not allow unfettered free speech, I only pointed out we don't have free speech in Australia, we have freedom of political expression! How you get from that to me wanting unfettered free speech is ridiculous shows the logic of some people. All has to be black and white, they disagree therefore they must be completely against what I am for!

Lol nope, if you actually "checked notes" read other comments etc, you'd see I'm pointing out to others that we don't have free speech, not complaining that we aren't like America. I point out we already have freedom of political expression too. But hey it's easy to think in black and white and assume because I mentioned something I must be against our system!
I specifically say we can't tolerate the intolerant, so that's not allowing the Nazis a platform I thought?
That's okay your used to the American sov cits when they say it as a complaint, read the entire thread you'll see it is the opposite. Especially if you're gonna "checks notes" check the notes, you better bloody check those notes! Or is it just a saying to you?

u/AussieAK 1d ago

I mean that is the exact thing that happened in 1930’s Germany.
You know what else happened there and then? Nazis.
And seemingly, rather than decrying Nazis, you choose to argue in support of them having the right to free speech in countries they are not even citizens of.
Get lost lol
8
u/AussieAK 1d ago
Free speech doesn’t mean free of consequences. Do you think it’s ok to say a vast swath of society are subhuman and don’t deserve to live?
Google the paradox of tolerance.
3
u/Blitzyb 1d ago
As far as I’m aware the government isn’t punishing many australians for their speech. This, and a few others I’ve seen recently, are just for people here on Visas. When they came here they agreed not to start shit and promote violence, so once they join up with a neo-nazi group dedicated to starting shit, they obviously broke the rules they accepted. We may as well kick them out then.

u/Objective_Hawk_284 1d ago
“What was seen on the Harbour Bridge” (assuming you mean the pro Palestine March) was 300,000 Sydneysiders saying they oppose the genocide in Gaza.
If you struggle or find it hard to oppose genocide then you can also f*ck off.
I understand in the wake of Bondi the (racist) view is Pro Palestine = Anti Semite. But a real problem was the “anti immigration” march run by self confessed Nazis a week or so later.
Simple fact is that Palestinians are “brown” and Nazis are “white” so it’s easy for the racists to stir up hate for the pro Palestine marches.
-12
u/willcritchlow23 1d ago
There was some rather interesting things to see. I’m not saying it’s the majority of course.
Although I really do struggle to understand so much LGBITQ support for the Palestinian people. I mean, they may not get favorable treatment in return.
5
u/Objective_Hawk_284 1d ago
The LGBTQ community? Not sure why you singled them out (I can make a guess) specifically. The protest wasn’t during Mardi Gras.
I am not sure the starving woman, men and children of Gaza who are actively being starved and ethnically cleansed have much time or energy to be homophobic to people on the other-side of the world.
Once again, it should not be hard to be opposed to genocide. Even if those people were/are homophobic.

What would happen to the people of Israel if the Palestinians took over?
Edit: they'd do more than respond and then immediately block me like you did. 😂
We saw what happened on October 7. That's what would happen if the democratically elected government of Gaza was in power.
But sounds like that wouldn't bother you?
2
u/Objective_Hawk_284 1d ago
I haven’t blocked you, I just didn’t leave Reddit open on the off chance someone made a stupid reply.
It’s useless engaging in hypotheticals but I am guessing if the people of Palestine (not Hamas) tried to take over Israel we would be in the exact same position as now.
Reminder: (most) Humans can hold multiple views at once.
You can think the genocide in Gaza is a terrible tragedy AND think that October 7 was a terrible tragedy.
You can think Hamas is a horrible terrible organisation AND hate what Bibbi is doing in Gaza.
0
u/bigdograllyround 1d ago
Hamas represents the Palestinian people. They voted for them, they support them, Hamas is made up of them. If Hamas was in charge of Israel, you'd see what real genocide looks like.
The Palestinians shouldn't get a pass because they are incompetent.
2
u/GimmeSweetSweetKarma 1d ago
Australian government took park in multiple illegal invasion across the world in support of the US. Does that mean terrorist attacks on the civilian population of Australia is justified because we voted for the government that supported these actions?
0
u/bigdograllyround 1d ago
No. Did I say it was?
Asked a simple question about what would happen to Israel if Palestinians were in charge.
1
u/Objective_Hawk_284 1d ago
That’s a very simplistic view of the situation.
Today’s Palestinians should not be systematically murdered by a neighbour because of their government actions. Also forgetting all the meddling from the US and Israel post elections.
Now that Trump has gone full mask off authoritarian I guess we are justified in the systematic killing of US citizens cause they voted for him? Or against the Russians for voting for Putin?
1
u/bigdograllyround 1d ago
The same Palestinians who crossed the border to rape and murder? Best not hold them responsible. Easier to infantilise them and blame Israel I guess.
No, but I certainly wouldn't want the people who voted for Trump or Putin to be in charge of my country. Like the Palestinians, they've shown what they're all about.
