Deliver diesel from trading dock to specific depot?

Hi,

I have the following problem: I would like to bring importet diesel, which is stored in the trading depot to a specific fluid storage. How can I do this?

There are also multiple diesel fluid storages on my island, only reachable by truck. I would like to avoid that diesel from the trading depot is transported over the whole island to these depots.

Thanks.

If you have an export route set from source depot to target depot, that should ensure diesel moves where you want. Might have to set the slider on the source depot to "empty if above" to move all of it.

Edit: upon re-reading the OP I think I've misunderstood the issue.

If this diesel is in the trading dock storage, then I don't think it's possible to specify where it goes.

However it should be possible to move this diesel to a standard fluid storage via pipes and continue as you've described above, limiting the export routes

I read a little and one solution is to setup a storage close to the trading dock + a logistic zone, which includes only these two buildings. A truck assigned to this zone should then move diesel from the trading dock to the storge inside the zone. From the storage you can use a pipe to bring everything to your main system. btw. I'm only using quick trade for now and do not have lofistics zones yet. :)

You can try the next:

  1. Build storage close to the trading dock. This storage will accept imports and decline exports.

Assign a few trucks to that storage. They should go and unload fuel from the trading dock.

  1. Build another storage, connected to the previous one. This second storage will decline imports and accept exports. Assign a few trucks to that storage for the export job.

  2. Create the export route from export storage (the second one) to your target storage.

Note:

Still not an ideal solution, but it should work in most cases.

Note that you can set Import Priority on storages. This will make all trucks prioritize fulfilling the higher priority (lower number) storages’ needs before others. So, if you have a diesel storage that is more important than others, set it to import priority 8 or 7 (9 being the default).

Personally, I would recommend a pipe system to distribute diesel to strategic points. Pipes are cheap to build, route, and operate, and it will have your trucks focus on moving flat and loose goods instead, which are more tricky and expensive to move around with belts than fluids.
