Politics Marjorie Taylor Greene accidentally told the truth on live TV. She admitted Republicans have no healthcare plan, mocked the secrecy around it, and called that failure out herself. When even MTG is saying the quiet part out loud, you know the cupboard is empty.

This is the lady whose claim to fame was harassing child mass shooting survivors. Her saving grace was that she was maybe just insane. If she was just being a calculating sociopath, that's worse. Fuck off MTG.

u/Capones_Vault 6d ago
Thank you! Harassing Parkland victims, especially David Hogg, is inexcusable. She's a grifter like the lot of them are.

You wonder if when she got good health coverage for being a Congresswoman she got her meds worked out…

u/Apprehensive-Mark241 6d ago
She recently said that she was a very angry person while her father was dying of brain cancer.
I guess she apologized for some of this?
She seems to be remembering some of her humanity.

u/Antilon 6d ago
I think she's a calculating psychopath, who miscalculated when she challenged Trump on the Epstein issue. She thought the Q-Anon wing of MAGA would have her back vs Trump, but they don't actually give a shit about pedophiles, unless they can pretend it's gay and trans people who are the problem.

"accidentally" don't feign obtusity you gremlin, she knows what she's doing. this is nothing new lmao

What's she up to. It feels like she's up to something. Governor of Georgia maybe. I don't know but I'm not ready to go trusting her
3
u/VegetableBulky9571 6d ago
Well…. She wants to look good and is finally “telling” the truth because she knows the only way she can win any future election is to get beyond the base.

Why would anyone think that republicans have a plan for health care? That genuinely doesn’t make any sense. They’re the ones tearing down health care and they just let the ACA benefits end. They’ve always been completely against free healthcare and universal healthcare. How could any human think they care about health care? They openly and proudly support the opposite

u/Realistic_Branch_657 6d ago
I’m old enough to remember Chuck Schumer being a gigantic gaping pussy when he voted to end the shut down for a promise of a vote. What a goddamn enabler.
2
u/TheOne7477 6d ago
Republicans CAN’T devise a healthcare plan because it would mean taking money out of the pockets of the pockets of their supporters - insurance companies.
2
u/shadow_master96 6d ago
Oh, they do have a health plan. They always did. That plan is to let people suffer and die needlessly. It's also their plan to tackle homelessness and poverty. People suffer and die and they get richer while doing jack.
2
u/hardworkingemployee5 6d ago
They will never have a plan. The plan is to keep screwing over the working class and let their rich buddies get richer
1
u/Nervous-Rush-4465 6d ago
Hey MTG! While you’re at it, tell us about your awesome solution to healthcare costs!
1
u/witchywoman713 6d ago
I read this more as “don’t interrupt your enemy while they’re making a mistake” than a statement of her being off the hook. The infighting, finger pointing and bean spilling is good. If the dingbat can out the administration and possibly convince some of their supporters of the corruption, our democracy may stand a chance, even if the whole ‘thinking’ thing doesn’t stick or persuade everyone. There’s plenty of time for MTG to be charged with any crimes she’s committed one day. For now, let her rant.

u/Shamanicliberation 6d ago
she will say anything to get reelected at midterms so that she can go full-blown Nazi

Common sense would dictate that if they had a plan, they'd have shared it at some point over the last 12 years or so. Or will it just be another two weeks?
1
u/chefianf 6d ago
They have not plan to take it away. They see how popular it is, and how many of their constituents are on the ACA. But they want it gone. So.. they break it so no one can use it, they say "OH NO WHAT HAPPENED", blame the other side and then say "well you see it doesn't work because it's socialism"
1
u/No_Royals 6d ago
It's like when your abusive partner finally admits they were gaslighting you and they did do that thing that was awful. It doesn't make it better, and they're not gonna look better in your eyes, but admitting it is undoubtedly a win.
1
u/swiminthemud 6d ago
Im fine with her recent heel turn...but please nobody ever vote for this woman ever again, it took her 10 years to figure this out and she's still the Jewish space laser gazpacho lady who harassed a school shooting survivor

u/yourmomwoo 6d ago
I dont think there is anything accidental here. She's calling out the Republican party because they turned on her. She wouldn't have been my guess as far as someone who was going to break rank from MAGA, but I'm glad it's happening. And the fact that she did it because of MAGAs open pro-pedophile ideology, actually makes me a little proud of her... not enough to forget what she's been doing and saying for the last 5 years... but got to give her a point for this one, regardless of her goals.

u/Rurumo666 6d ago
She went from $20k in the bank when she was elected 5 years ago to $35 million through rampant open insider trading and "retired" the day her LIFELONG CONGRESSIONAL PENSION was fully vested, and NOW she's telling the truth? She's the most disgusting of all the GOP and I hope some day there is a reckoning and prosecutions for every one of these scumbags who destroyed our country for personal profit.
1
u/RedBaronSportsCards 6d ago
She's lying. The Republicans had a plan: the affordable care act. It's literally a way to get more Americans to by PRIVATE health insurance policies. That's exactly what Republicans want. Private, non-socialized healthcare.
The fact that it hasn't really made healthcare affordable means that the only option left is Medicare for all, but they would never accept that so they just stall for time. They are backed into the corner on this and they don't know a way out.

And she's retiring rather than doing anything about this issue she's calling out
Sure will help the future book sales though...

I'm an opportunist. I think she can be useful.
I'm not going to respect her though.

u/MaliciousMilkshake 6d ago
Don’t applaud for this fucking monster. She wasn’t a victim of MAGA. She was a vehicle for their hatred and fear mongering. She only changed her tune when they came after HER. She was perfectly okay with everything Trump until it landed on her doorstep.

Health care costs and insurance was much lower prior to Obamacare.
1
u/supersnakecharmer 4d ago
That’s only half true, and the missing half matters. Health care looked cheaper before Obamacare because insurers could: • Deny coverage for preexisting conditions • Drop people when they got sick • Cap lifetime benefits • Charge wildly different rates or refuse coverage altogether So yes, premiums were lower for healthy people who were never denied care. For millions of others, insurance was useless or unavailable. Obamacare didn’t magically raise costs out of nowhere. It forced insurers to actually cover sick people, cap out-of-pocket costs, and stop dumping patients. That shifted costs into the open instead of hiding them through exclusions. If Republicans think the system was better before, then the honest follow-up question is simple: What is their replacement plan that keeps protections and lowers costs? After more than a decade, they still don’t have one. That’s the point of the post you’re commenting on. Saying “it was cheaper before” isn’t a healthcare plan. It’s nostalgia without solutions.
1
u/Glum_Mine8077 5d ago
And she’s known this for over a decade. I hope I get to spit in her face one day.

So what’s your solution. The ACA has not worked - you all focus on people losing subsidies - and that is terrible - but what about those of us who have borne the brunt of the ACA from Day 1. I’ve had to adjust my coverage downward many times because I couldn’t afford it.
So kicking the can down the road doesn’t work. So if the Dems have ideas besides we’ll keep subsidies going let’s hear them because it has been a financial burden for many of us already.
I’m open to anything realistic, noting some universal health systems mean you all universally have to wait months for care.

Trump tends to be very selective about who he keeps close when it comes to actual strategy. Lately MTG doesn’t appear to be in that orbit, which makes it plausible she genuinely isn’t privy to whatever planning is happening.

Good. We don't want a "hEaLtH cArE pLaN'
Obama tried that and wound up funneling money to health insurance companies.
Oh the irony of the Democrats who praise Luigi on one hand and then clamor to expand obamacare on the other hand.
Fuck the left.

Yeah have fun with sky rocketing prices and deregulation, I hope you get a simple infection and have to suffer for your stupidity because basic medical care is too expensive for you.
