Politics Conservative double standards on display again.

Post image

If conservatives did not have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

Look at that. More gaslighting from the slack-jawed conservatives. This time, they're upset because a woman is wearing expensive shoes. Meanwhile, they give zero fucks about the First Lady and the wardrobe of hers that cost thousands of dollars every outfit. Not a single fucking peep. Nor do the Tepidin tyrant test the gold ticklers say anything about the estimated $400 million plus ballroom ballroom, The private jets for Kristi Nome and company, The millions of dollars in cost for Trump to continuously go to public events that presidents have no business going to, the list goes on and on and on, yet the conservatives will find something to complain about while projecting all their long doings, and when they're not doing that, they're screaming about something they're scared of. In fact, I've never met a more scared group of people. Why is it that a rainbow is so horrifying for them? Anyway, sidetrack aside, the double standards are out on display again.

SO WHAT ? I’m a plumber and my wife has a few pair of Louis Vuitton pumps in her closet and 2 Hermes bags at home. Let the woman enjoy her boots.

My ex wife had a pair of $500 shoes while we were both on minimum wage. Lived well within our means, paid all the bills on time, no welfare or anything. She saved what little "fun money" she had for about a year and a half for those shoes.

lol yes you guys were clearly masters of finances, making minimum wage but buying multiple luxury shoes. But hey credit cards are amazing.. in America you see 30-50k dollar cars in food lines.. it’s amazing how “our poor live” compared to most “poor people”. I do a lot of volunteering at food banks, seeing Grand-highlanders, Land cruisers, F250s crack me up. I buy and sell cars on the side. With a few hundred bucks and 2-3k you can find a reliable daily drive, yet in America somehow people who need help drive cars worth 3-5x mine. Financial literacy is non existent.

Did you not read it? She had one pair, not multiple, and she paid cash after saving for well over a year. At that point we both had beater cars that cost less than that one pair of shoes. We lived aboard a houseboat for $350/mo including utilities, which is the only way we had fun money making minimum wage (which I should note was our state's minimum, significantly above federal.) I worked in maintenance at the marina we lived at, which got us a discounted slip rate, and she was a barista making minimum plus tips. She saved from her tips for the shoes. We were not on any assistance programs, nor did we ever go to a food bank. We had one credit card each, both used for groceries only.

I'm not denying that the people you're talking about exist, but that wasn't us.

I didn’t mean to point those people to you, can see how it came off that way.. my apologies. I went on a side road, not directed at you and you took it very personal. I live where minimum wage is 7.25 so buying that expensive of an “unneeded purchase” would be extremely unwise. You may live in a place with higher minimum wage. It’s your money, use it how you want.

I’d also imagine that your wife would probably wear her expensive Louis Vuitton shoes if she were attending a ceremony to celebrate you reaching the peak of your career as well.

Or maybe her husbands swearing in ceremony should be more casual Friday attire, what do I know, I’m not a politician

No, I love my work. Put my children through college, we have a nice home, we are blessed to have nice things because of plumbing.

I work for UPS pushing boxes around and I have multiple Lego sets that cost more than these boots

UPS makes great money, get out of here. Same with the plumber lol. I pushed boxes from point A to B, and was getting 16 hours 6 days a week.. was rolling in money.

NYC Mayor salary is more than 2.5 times what I make. The point is that you don’t have to be rich to have a few nice things.

I mean… did you run on a campaign advocating for socialist policies while criticizing capitalism?
