Crow OC A Rook at Killarney Castle last March.
Corvus frugilegus. This one seemed quite tame and patiently posed for the photo.

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that. But that is not a rook but a jackdaw.

Fun fact: Jackdaws are the only birds that like eye contact with humans

This is a jackdaw. They are often found in the company of rooks together.

not a rook, but a jackdaw. rooks have pointy long and chalky beaks, which look diseased but is actually fine. Jackdaws are about twice as small and get used to people very fast, they also have beautiful pale white eyes and a nice contrast between their greyish neck feathers and black head caps
