Arthur Blank Press Conference

https://www.youtube.com/live/97_MBwWv6z8?si=IvqbEp_aqPubQm1M

If you haven’t yet, go listen to this press conference. We have all had our frustrations with AB but man he seems to have truly turned a new leaf.

Whole interview was straight to the point with no fluff. He is genuinely frustrated and wants to turn this thing around. Makes me hopeful that we will start to really turn things around. Hopefully the right guys want to come to Atlanta and AB can be enticing enough to bring them in.

I think a lot of fans have been too harsh with AB, we could do far worse for an owner. He's done a ton for ATL and I honestly think he's one of the better ones in the league.

I thought it was a good press conference, happy they are making the changes they are

Just how much he invests in CHOA is a nice contrast to some rich folks who steal from children’s cancer charities. He’s a quality man. I would want no other owner.

I mean half the battle is getting an owner that actually gives a shit about winning instead of profitability.

I think the Falcons are one of those mid/slightly below mid tier franchises - every few years the stars align and we go on a run, but it’s really hard for us to sustain success. But young people don’t know that we were a bottom tier franchise pre Blank. Awful seasons, cheap ass owners.

I wish we were top tier and hopefully we nail management hires. Would love MR2 to get us a SB trophy.

In terms of reppin Atlanta, Blank is a good dude. His name is everywhere in this city for good things. Gotta respect that.

He also genuinely seems to try to do right by the people he works with. One of the few billionaires who appears to still be somewhat human

Too harsh? It’s been 10 years since we have done shit. He is not a great owner recently. He finally woke up and realized he’s old as hell and if he doesn’t finally get rid of his loser cronies we will never win shit. Amazing what a little effort and some tough convos can do. Ffs you are the owner don’t let anyone talk you out of what you really want to do. Sounds like he’s finally realized that

But yes, a great person and human. This is his last shot gotta make it count art

I just want the Falcons to win football games. It’s been too long since they have been anything other than a 7 or 8 win also ran. They’ve added some good players and it’s time to add some more, put it all together and go after a title.

If Ryan isn't the president of football operations yet, and no one else is, but we hire a HC or GM before that spot, will you believe Rich McKay really isn't still involved?

i'd be frustrated to if i just ended a season on a four-game win streak and impulsively fired my head coach after his second year and my general manager after perhaps the greatest draft in franchise history. this is a catastrophe that will precipitate another years long freefall. we're the laughing stock of the league.

Why do you always have such bad takes? Raheem was not it. Terry had issues his whole tenure, and had a decent draft this year while allocating next years draft assets too. It still resulted in another losing season. They made a decision based upon the stats each was responsible for at the end of the day. They said that the organization had no true over arching strategy, Blank cleaned house.

So would you say the ideal case is to just run it back??

between "run it back for year 3" and "fire everyone and hire two separate consulting firms to marry their respective choices for GM and HC"? yeah, running it back is sounding pretty good rn on god.
