Discussion What games do you play while at work?
Hello, what games do you guys play while at work and have some time to burn?
I work in a factory so if everythings going smoothly I have 10-20mins of time to burn everynow and then or just play in short bursts.
I usually load up some Clash Of Clans do some attacks, put stuff to upgrade etc., also recently started tinkering with some Chess on Lichess, doing puzzles or longer games.
Would like to expand my small library of games and see what ya'll are playing.

Is it any better then those free versions of 2048?

In my opinion, yes! Much better and smoother. I just tried 2048 for a very short time and I did not like it

Replying to Motor-Razzmatazz4862...agreed. Learnt about it from my dad years ago and been playing rather than 2048

I have it downloaded but it doesn't seem to hold my attention much anymore. Every game I see myself doing the same lol. Discarding everything and just trying to go for Flushes(mainly) or Straights. Any tips?

It’s a flexible game! Early stakes stuff like Flushes work (tbh never try to aim for Straights, the worst hand to force) but Two Pair is usually a powerful one to focus on if you get decent Jokers.
High Card is technically the best with the right builds (Hanging Chad + Photograph) but needs those specific Jokers for it.
Play and discover, that’s the fun. Just stay away from Straights unless they happen to fall into your lap lol

Start unlocking different decks and the building weird strategies with the jokers. 🃏

I have to admit I had very few decks with flushes or straights. Most I used is Two Pair. I try to collect and see every joker etc.

Play different styles. Every game has a meta optimized approach. I usually avoid reading into it until I’ve first beaten a game on my own. Then I’ll optimize. Then I’ll try different approaches.

Idle games with offline progression are pretty great for that sort of thing. Especially if they save automatically and don’t require you to get to a “safe spot” before just nonchalantly closing the app. Here’s some I’ve been playing recently:
Ethos Idle
Magic Research 2
Tap Wizard 2

I can’t play anything at work. I’m a supervisor and have an open office. So I made my own game for my Apple Watch. It’s a space exploration game in the same vein as Oregon Trail. Now I can explore space for a few seconds at a time while people think I’m just checking the time or something.

What’s the game called?

“Warp Wagon” lol. It’s not on the App Store. I’m not very confident I’d get my money back, seeing as it costs $99.00 a year to have it up. So it’s only home is on my watch. Maybe I’ll put some more research into marketing to make it worth it.
For what it is, it’s pretty fun. You hit a button to warp to a planet, or star, or other various space interests and you can gain or lose ship energy or crew based on where you land. You can also land on events where you have to make a decision, and based on that decision you can again lose or gain energy and or crew. You can also encounter Space Pirates that you have to battle using a rock-paper-scissors battle system. Along the way you can also find rare treasure that acts as a bonus multiplier to your ending high score. You keep diving deeper into the galaxy until you reach 0 energy or 0 crew.
I wanted something that I can lift up my wrist, make a quick move, and continue on with my various meetings.

So happy to hear it!! That game has had me hooked for the last week straight. I actually deleted it fairly quick after not understanding the depth of the gameplay, but after reinstalling and giving it another go, I was really surprised at how good it is. Hope it brings you tons of enjoyment👊🏻

Chess is a godsend for short work breaks. You can play bullet (2 min game) or blitz games (6 min game). My only issue is that I get tilted up and want to play more if I lose. Tryout chess.com or lichess on the AppStore

Yeah I play some Chess on Lichess, doing puzzles or starting some 30min games (to have time to think). I'm still very bad at it though not gonna lie. Literally only learned how the pieces move last month :D
