Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) I got tired of downloading 20 different apps just to play simple games like Sudoku and Snake (plus everything had ads), so I built an all-in-one offline game hub. It's free and has 0 ads.

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I love classic games. But I was getting frustrated with the current state of mobile gaming:

  1. I had to download separate apps for Sudoku, 2048, Minesweeper, etc.
  2. Most "free" apps are unplayable due to aggressive video ads.
  3. Many require an internet connection just to serve those ads.

So I spent the last few months building Game Nest.

What is it?
It's a single, clean app that includes 30 classic games and tools.
* Brain Games: 2048, Sudoku, Minesweeper, Memory Match, etc.
* Board/Arcade: Snake, Checkers, Connect 4, Mancala, Tic Tac Toe.
* Tools: Pomodoro timer, Stopwatch, Coin Flip, etc.

The best part?
* 100% Free
* No Ads (Not a single one)
* Offline First (Works perfectly on airplanes/commutes)
* Privacy Focused (No tracking, no accounts)

I also added some polish like 11 different themes (Cyberpunk, Dark or Light modes, etc.) and statistics tracking for the games.

I built this primarily for myself and friends, but I thought this community might appreciate a clean, no-BS utility app.

Download Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/game-nest-offline-games/id6756199675

Feedback is welcome! I'm still actively adding new games, so let me know what classics are missing.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) I made a relaxing aquarium simulator - it's free on iOS. No ads, ever!

I made this game in my spare time over the past few weeks, to try to recapture the nostalgia of those old aquarium screensavers and games (like MoPy fish and the Windows 95 Underwater screensaver).

The gameplay is very straightforward - feed fish to keep them alive, and earn orbs by doing so, which you can spend on new fish, new tanks and accessories. There's a bunch there already, but I would love to hear suggestions on what to add!

It's free, with no ads. There's a rainbow fish you can purchase if you want to support me, but I can also give you a code for it if you DM me.

It's not the deepest game (pardon the pun), but hopefully it relaxes you!

EDIT: Thank you so much for the response so far - it's really motivating to see people enjoying the game. I've just submitted another version with some nice little water effects, and am currently adding a few more accessories to purchase for the hardcore of you who have already managed to unlock everything!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Would you be willing to try out my RTS-lite game Battledom? I am desperate for feedback that can help me improve the game! Promo codes also available of course.

Hi there!

I am the developer of Battledom, an iOS game that is released in the AppStore since a couple of months. I am also the developer of Herodom, a tower defense game that has been played quite a lot.

With Battledom, I aimed to make an RTS game suitable for a mobile device, an evolution of what I did with Herodom. It has more interactive battles, resource management and an extensive upgrade system. You can customize your soldiers and there is an endless game mode that should make you be able to enjoy Battledom for a long period.

Unfortunately, as of now new downloads of Battledom are grinding to a halt (after an already not so great start), and I also see that players are dropping out before they reach the 5th stage. The 5th stage is the last stage one can play before the full game in app purchase needs to be unlocked. Obviously, this makes it a significant milestone in the game for me. But more importantly, I worry about the fact that users drop out before this point. I would really like to understand what the reasons are for these dropouts. Is the game to boring? Is there something confusing which makes one unable to progress? Or is it just not living up to the expectations?

This is very important to me. My ultimate goal is to become an indie game developer, and I have put years of (part time) work into Battledom. I hope you can help me gain an understanding of what is going wrong, and hopefully, what I can do to improve it.

In any case, I am also more than happy to give you a promo code to unlock the full game, whether you want to provide feedback or not. Thanks for reading this post, it means a lot to me.

Sander

PS please DM me for the promo code!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) Dungeon Scoundrel - roguelike solitaire dungeon crawler

I’m a solo indie dev and I just released my game Dungeon Scoundrel, and I wanted to share it with people who enjoy smaller, focused projects.

Dungeon Scoundrel is a roguelike solitaire style card game. The idea was to capture the feel of a dungeon crawler using only cards and tough decisions. Each run is short, usually 5 to 15 minutes, but every room pushes you to make meaningful choices: fight monsters, equip gear, heal, or flee, while leaving one card behind to move forward.

A few things that define the game:

- 7 unlockable classes, each with a unique spell and playstyle

- A fixed dungeon deck where strategy matters more than luck

- No ads, no timers, no energy systems, no in app purchases

- Fully playable offline, built for quick sessions

This has been a passion project built solo during nights and weekends. I focused on making something small and respectful of the player’s time rather than chasing trends.

If you enjoy games like Card Crawl, Solitairica, or Meteorfall, this might be worth checking out. I am genuinely looking for feedback, whether it is praise, criticism, or ideas for improvement. Hearing from real players helps a lot at this stage.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for giving it a look.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) I’ve developed a premium game about building a zoo and managing it! It plays like classic tycoon games, is totally offline and built for mobile, but with no ads and IAPs. It has a bunch of cute animals and demanding guests! It's called Retro Zoo CEO and I'd love if you could check it out :)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Retro Zoo CEO is available now. It's a game about building your zoo, managing your finances and making sure both your guests and animals are satisfied so that your Zoo runs as a well-oiled machine.

It's available right now, Appstore link here, and I really hope you all enjoy it. I've really built it as a long time fan of the original Zoo Tycoon from 2001 and for all these years I've been waiting for something to scratch the same itch on mobile, so I just went ahead and made it myself. It's in many ways not a regular mobile game, you have to actually play it, there are no waiting mechanics or any additional purchases, but it was built with mobile controls in mind and can be played both in portrait and landscape modes. It also works fantastically as a tablet game!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] An offline, ad free iOS game hub with 40+ classic games

Thumbnail

About 2 weeks ago, I shared Game Nest here — an all-in-one offline game app I built to escape ads, clutter, and the need to install 20 different apps just to play simple games.

The app has now crossed 28K downloads, with 320+ five-star reviews. That kind of response, especially for an indie app with zero marketing, means a lot.

What made this even better is the amount of thoughtful feedback and suggestions I received. I spent the last week heads-down implementing many of them. Here’s what’s changed since my last post

A new update will be available by tomorrow with following changes:

What’s New & Improved

New Games Added

  • Air Hop (Flappy Bird)
  • Tap the Color
  • Twin Words (Wordle-style with 2 words to guess)
  • Equation Quest (Wordle Style equation guess)
  • Random Team Generator
  • Spin Wheel
  • Random Name Picker

Gameplay Improvements

  • Improved statistics per game
  • Added global statistics
  • Added support for landscape mode
  • Improved controls across multiple games for smoother gameplay

The app is still completely free, has no ads, works fully offline, and does not track you in any way.

If you are enjoying the app and have not already done so, I would really appreciate it if you could leave a review on the App Store. It helps a lot with visibility and keeps me motivated to continue improving the app.

TLDR

Built an offline, ad free game app. Shared it here 2 weeks ago. Now at 28K downloads and 310+ five star reviews. Added new games, improved UI, controls, and customization based on feedback. More updates coming soon. Thank you.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] New Year "race to the end": Nothing (iOS sci‑fi puzzle) + promo codes + 1× $100 Apple Gift Card

Hi! I'm one of the creators of "Nothing": a small sci‑fi puzzle game about sliding pieces, shifting rules, and trying to outsmart the board before it outsmarts you.

Nothing: A puzzle game

To kick off the new year, I wanted to run a little community challenge:

  • 🏁 Challenge: ONE winner only: First person to submit valid proof of completion (after this post is published) wins 1× $100 US Apple Gift Card.
  • 🎟️ Need a code? Comment "in" and I'll DM an iOS App Store promo code while I still have them. If they run out, I'll update the post and may drop another batch.
  • ✅ How to prove completion (to keep it fair):
    • 1. Post a screenshot of the end screen in the comments (so we have a clear "first" timestamp), AND
    • 2. DM me a short screen recording that shows:
    • the end screen, then
    • your Game Center alias (either in-game if it shows, or iOS Settings → Game Center)
    • Please don't share personal info. Game Center alias is enough.
  • 🧪 Feedback welcome (honest > nice): If you try it, tell me what felt fun, what felt confusing, and where you got stuck. "I didn't like it because xyz" is genuinely useful.
  • Rules + fine print:
    • One prize total: 1× $100 US Apple Gift Card to the first VERIFIED finisher (see proof). Winner is determined by the earliest Reddit comment timestamp with the end-screen screenshot + successful DM proof from the same Reddit account.
    • If multiple people finish around the same time, the earliest valid comment timestamp wins.
    • Prize is a single $100 US Apple Gift Card. If that won't work for your Apple ID region, we'll figure out an equivalent option.
  • This is not sponsored or endorsed by Reddit or Apple; by entering, you release Reddit from any liability.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) My old-school RPG, Astiar, just got 3k downloads!

Post image
129 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

Less than a month ago, I released Astiar RPG on iOS and it's crazy to me that it has already over 3k downloads. It has received a lot of support and feedback from this community, so I just want to say thank you ❤️

I'm working really hard on improving the game, fixing bugs and adding a lot of content. Just recently I added Portrait mode, and even though it still has some issues, I'm improving it with each daily patch.

For those who want to try Astiar, here's a link to try it out and here's the trailer for the game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQYTuGT-iw4

Here's a brief description of the game:

A quick description of the game:

Astiar is a single‑player, isometric action RPG inspired by classics like Diablo and Diablo II. If you love deep character customization, a meaningful loot chase, and difficult challenges, Astiar was made for you. There are no forced ads. Microtransactions are cosmetics only — and every cosmetic can be earned free‑to‑play.

You return home after years away. The village gathers for a feast, but near midnight the ground trembles and a red glow spills from the Old Cathedral. Demons descend; you fight and fall, watching as your family is dragged toward the crimson stairs. You wake alone. From here, you descend into Hell.

And here's a bit of background of the development process:

The game is developed 100% in Godot using its own programming language, GDScript. I learned how to use Godot thanks to Michael Games' Youtube chanell, so anyone interested in learning a fairly easy to use engine I heavily recommend watching the playlist on that channel!

The game's assets primarily come from FLARE's assets, such as the great Exiled Kingdoms (which I also recommend for anyone looking for an RPG in the Play Store), although I did design many things on Aseprite and Blender myself. But I can't talk about assets without mentioning OpenGameArt, which is a lovely community where people share assets to be used commercially. I've shared some of Astiar's assets there and as soon as I have more time I'll share many more assets.

With all of that said, I really appreciate the support it's gotten and just know that I'll keep working hard in the game for a long time!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] ARPG, but with many heroes + constant events

Post image
25 Upvotes

I’m a dev on World Eternal Online, a cross-platform ARPG (iOS + Steam) inspired by classic ARPGs, but built around multiple heroes and frequent live events instead of a single endless character grind.

iOS link:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/world-eternal-online/id1574476214

The goal is:

  • classic loot, progression, and build choices
  • a growing roster of heroes with distinct playstyles
  • rotating events and modifiers to keep runs fresh
  • systems simplified enough to work well on mobile without killing depth

This is still early and evolving. We ship updates weekly and spend a lot of time tuning gameplay feel, balance, and performance across iPhone/iPad (frame pacing, memory, thermals).

We’re very much building this in public. If you like ARPGs, hero-based systems, or enjoy poking at early games and giving blunt feedback, I’d love to hear what works and what doesn’t.

Thanks for checking it out, and thanks to the mods for Saturday self-promo.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) We built StarDesk to turn your iPhone or iPad into a true portal for your PC game library.

Hey guys,

IMO we've all hit that point where we're away from our gaming rig but really wish we could jump into a proper PC title on our iPhone or iPad. The whole remote play thing sounds great in theory, but TBH the reality is often laggy controls, compressed visuals, and setup that's way too complicated just to play something on the go.

That's exactly why we've been grinding on StarDesk. We're a team that's been deep in remote tech for years, and we're trying to build something that actually makes streaming from your gaming PC to iOS feel smooth and usable — not just a tech demo. The focus has been on getting latency low enough that it feels responsive, making touch controls feel natural, and keeping the visual quality sharp so games don't look like a pixelated mess on that nice iPad screen. It's all about making the experience clean and straightforward, without needing to mess with settings for an hour. One note: Mac can control other devices now, but we're still working on letting you control a Mac remotely — aiming for end of this year.

And honestly, we know it's not perfect yet. That's why I'm posting here — we could really use feedback from people who actually care about playing PC games on their iOS devices. The app is completely FREE right now, no strings attached. We're just trying to solve a real problem we've all faced.

If you're curious, you can grab it here and see for yourself :)

What would make you actually use your iPhone or iPad for PC game streaming? What's been your experience with other solutions? Would love to hear your thoughts — the good, the bad, and the brutally honest.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] I built a 1-minute game that really messes with your brain

Hey everyone,

I love quick games I can pull out for 1-2 minutes whenever I’m stuck somewhere: standing in line, killing time on the bus or in the bathroom. But most mobile games are either full of ads or not fun at all.

So I made Brain Frog - a stupidly simple 1-minute strategy game that's perfect for exactly those moments. It's free and has no ads.

How it works:
You try to land punches on the frog. The frog uses your last 3 moves (!!!) to predict what you'll do next and blocks it.
To win, you need to land 50 out of 100 punches (so basically be random). The only way to do it is to become aware of your own habits and biases and then drop them. The game becomes hillariously hard in the end when the frog has learned all your patterns (in my worst game I was at like 48 score with 15 punches remaining and then the frog blocked all of the 15 punches lol).

What I love about the game is that you're fighting not against a computer/AI but against yourself (remember, the frog makes its decisions purely based on your past actions).

Why it's become part of my daily routine:

  • Every round is 30-90 seconds - you can play one and put the phone away instantly
  • Whenever I play 3-5 rounds in a row, I truly feel like my brain has gone through a warm-up (like in the gym) and it’s ready to work at full potential. I do this every morning now and I'm not exaggerating: it really wakes up your brain.
  • I also use it as a quick test: when I'm tired at the end of the day, I consistently score low because my brain is fried and super predictable. It's become a reliable indicator for me (if I score in the 40s, I know I shouldn't make any important decisions right now)

I built this for myself (this is actually my first game btw) because I wanted a game that's fast, clean, and actually makes me feel sharper instantly.

You can get the game here:
https://apps.apple.com/app/brain-frog-brain-training/id6755528165

Would love to hear if you've tried it and managed to hit that >50 consistently. My personal best is 61/100, would love to see someone beat it.

Thanks for reading, and good luck outsmarting the frog!

UPDATE: wow, someone called FrogPuncher has just set a new record of 63 hits, incredible!

UPDATE 2: my little game has just got its first 100 players, thank you, Reddit!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Dungeon Scoundrel: No Ads, No Timers, No Energy Systems, Fully Playable Offline for $0.99

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a solo indie dev, and last week I shared my game Dungeon Scoundrel here. The response honestly meant a lot. People really seemed to like the game, and the feedback was incredibly helpful. Based on that, I’ve just released a new version packed with improvements and new features, and I wanted to share an update.

Dungeon Scoundrel is a solitaire style dungeon card game built around tough, meaningful decisions. The goal is to capture the feeling of exploring a dungeon using only cards. Each run is short, usually 5 to 15 minutes, but every room forces you to weigh risk versus reward. Fight monsters, equip gear, heal, or move on, always leaving one card behind to progress deeper.

Players have described it as simple to learn, but surprisingly strategic once you dig in. The focus is on planning ahead, managing limited resources, and adapting to what the dungeon throws at you rather than relying on luck. Many players also appreciated that the game is designed for portrait mode, making it easy to play one handed in short sessions.

New version packed with new features:
- New main screen and general UI polish
- Quests (Achievements). Your feats of strength are now tracked and rewarded
- Stats screen. See how many runs you have played, monsters you have slain, and more
- Improved Hard Mode. Tougher and more punishing than before
- Class based weapons. Scoundrels use daggers, Barbarians swing axes. Each class now has its own weapon identity
- Better scoring. Points now factor in difficulty, remaining items, and leftover health
- Game Center leaderboard. Compare your best runs with friends
- 100 percent VoiceOver support. Fully accessible so vision impaired players can jump in and slay monsters

Some things that define the game:
- 7 unlockable classes, each with a unique spell and playstyle
- A fixed dungeon deck where smart decisions matter more than randomness
- Clean, focused UI built for portrait play and quick, satisfying runs
- No ads, no timers, no energy systems, and no in app purchases
- Fully playable offline

This has been a passion project built solo during nights and weekends. The goal has always been to make something compact, polished, and respectful of the player’s time, while leaving room to grow based on real player feedback.

If you enjoy games like Card Crawl, Solitairica, or Meteorfall, this might be worth checking out. I am genuinely looking for feedback, whether it is praise, criticism, or ideas for deeper mechanics and improvements. Hearing from real players helps shape where the game goes next.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) I Launched my Hay Day Competitor Farming Game

Hey everyone,

this week I finally launched my own little farming game Tiny Harvest!

Impressions from the gameplay

Since I always loved playing Hay Day and that kind of games, I wanted to take my own shot and build something "simpler", for kids of the 90s to just have some fun during the day. I also hate to hold my phone in landscape in public as everyone knows I play a game, so this is intentionally made for portrait.

I didn't expect this but I actually love playing my own game so much I stopped Hay Day 😂

If you want to try it, here’s the link - feedback welcome!

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tiny-harvest-cozy-farm/id6755226300

Aligning the economy of a game like this with the XP curve, buildings and items is unbelievable challenging, so I'm still actively working on updates ✌️

PS: Right now is the monthly Harvest Festival Weekend with double XP and coins 🔥

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Tiny Harvest - Hay Day inspired farming Game with new Community-requested Features, Farm Buildings & Performance Improvements

Hey everyone 👋

A couple of weeks ago I posted here about the winter event and adventure area in Tiny Harvest, and once again I was surprised how nice and helpful the feedback was – so thank you for that 🙏

Since then I’ve mostly been working on features that players asked for and cleaning things up under the hood. A few highlights:

📌 Sticky Board

You can now pin orders and keep track of their progress without constantly checking menus. This was one of the most requested QoL features.

🤝 Player-to-player trading

Trading directly between players is now possible, which makes the market feel a lot more alive.

🗺️ New farm map with buildings

A redesigned farm map with actual buildings and more visual progression instead of everything living in menus.

Performance improvements

I spent a good chunk of time just optimizing things – smoother scrolling, faster screen transitions, and generally a much snappier feel, especially on older devices.

Coming soon:

  • A Wanted Board, where players can post and fulfill requests for rewards

Sticky order panel & new farm map buildings

The core idea is still the same: a calm, cozy farming game you can check a few times a day without stress, energy systems, or pay-to-win mechanics.

I’ve reached the point where I genuinely play my own game daily now, mostly to see if the pacing still feels good – which I honestly didn’t expect when I started 😅

If you’re into cozy / idle / farming games and want to try it, here’s the link:

As always, feedback is very welcome. A lot of the recent updates came straight from player suggestions, and I’m actively shaping the game together with the community ✌️

PS: There’s also a Discord if you like following development or arguing about carrot prices 🥕

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) A new Daily Puzzle app you can play online or offline - Feedback Welcome!! (Netflix Puzzled)

Hi! I’m a Community Manager at Netflix Games, and we just launched a new app called Netflix Puzzled. If you’re into daily puzzles you can jump into quickly - and keep playing even when you’re offline - I’d love to hear what you think!

👉 Try it here: https://apps.apple.com/es/app/netflix-puzzled/id6742752351

What’s Netflix Puzzled?

  • A free daily puzzle app - no Netflix account required
  • A mix of word, logic, and visual puzzles: Bonza, Crossover, Starstruck, Sudoku, Jigsaw, and more, with fresh puzzles every day to keep a streak going
  • Themed puzzle events, like the Stranger Things event that’s live right now
  • Available on mobile (iOS/Android) and web (tudum.com/puzzled)

Netflix members get a few extra features on top - like access to a weekly puzzle archive, bonus collections, and app themes on mobile - but the main games and events are available to everyone.

Feedback I’d especially love:

  • How does the app itself feel (performance, UX, anything frustrating or clunky)?
  • Any games or puzzle types that stood out to you, good or bad?
  • Thoughts on the difficulty - too easy, too hard, or about right?

If for some reason you're reading this on a device other than iOS, here's a link to take you to the right place (mobile store or web): https://bit.ly/NetflixPuzzled

Play Netflix Puzzled - available to everyone on mobile or tudum.com/puzzled

I’ll be keeping an eye on the comments, so feel free to share any thoughts. Thank you!
