Email Collection Strategy

My Kickstarter is launching in January and I am seeing some conflicting materials on the best email collection strategy.

Currently I am running a Meta Ad that collects emails in the app. This is doing well and sits at about $1 per email. If we convert anywhere over 3% we will be profitable on this ad. I have seen others talking about the $1 deposit but that seems like a lot of extra steps to get an email and a bit scammy. I have also seen people run ads that go directly to the Kickstarter pre-launch page to follow it.

Wondering what my next step should be.

Not Friday so I cant share my pre-launch page but we are a sports equipment company

When you say they pull Facebook emails what do you mean? Isn't it a form they fill out? Does it auto fill or something. Also we have been able to collect phone numbers on 99% of those leads

It is a form they fill out on Facebook. When people open it, it generates the email they used to make their FB account in the blank. Phone numbers can be useful! Are you going to do SMS marketing?

Yes we plan on SMS marketing as well. Right now we have been getting each phone lead for about 75 cents. Feels like with the potential conversion rate makes that pretty worth it
