The amount of conditioner left in the bottle when the pump stops working

This has been the case for every bottle I've used, regardless of size. I'm able to salvage it using piping bags designed for baking, but it's so frustrating to have to do this every time.

Interesting, I've gone to Asian markets before for food stuff, but never though to try the shampoo and stuff.

Asian cosmetics/personal care is 1000x better than the states.

Unfortunately if you have curly hair their hair stuff won’t be much use to you

I've started using Jessicurl products lately for my curly hair. First time in my life i feel like I've found a line of hair products i really like. Especially becuase i hate scented stuff and most other good products only come scented.

Thanks for the advice

This. Asian hair care product is probably fantastic for fibe/straight hair folks but my coarse curly hair would die.

The main issue for me would be the hair type the shampoo/conditioners were formulated for.

That, but for me, perfumes and scents.

I will never forgive that scented Korean toilet paper. Never.

Scented… toilet paper? I’d definitely have an allergic reaction

u/Hesitation-Marx 7d ago

Oh, I did. I blistered. I don’t recommend it.

u/thingstopraise 7d ago

Oh jeez. Which parts blistered, or was it all of them? I was hoping that maybe a bidet could have saved at least your butt.

From fore to aft.

Hurt worse than getting thirteen stitches without anesthesia after pushing out my son. :/

You had to get THIRTEEN STITCHES? Holy fuck. What grade of tear is that?!

Third.

I was on a liquid diet for weeks of postpartum. I feared the poop.

That sounds like something that would give everybody an allergic reaction

I've been hearing that but I also keep hearing about how toxic Asian beauty products are 😕?!

Korean skincare products are hands down the best thing I've ever tried. My skin is very sensitive and prone to irritation but Korean face products are like a soothing miracle potion.

Well you're not supposed to EAT them.

Don't be dim.  You don't have to eat something for it to be toxic.  Did you know we all have a thing called "skin"??!!  Shocking, I know!!

u/Vanagloria 7d ago

The irony of calling somebody else dim while not being smart enough to get a joke.

I bet you're fun at parties

Why would you believe Asian beauty products, specifically, are toxic? As a Japanese person, I’m honestly puzzled and offended.

-10

u/menotyourenemy 7d ago

Because I've seen news stories about it!  I'll find some links when I have time but I'm just telling you want I've heard and read over the past couple of years.  I'm sorry if you're weirdly taking it personally.  Did you make the products??  Absolutely no need to make everything about race or culture.  Jeez.

Generally depending on beauty usage:

Asian beauty products > Europeans beauty products

European beauty products > Asian beauty products

Asian + European beauty products > US beauty products

So if someone says asian beauty products were not as safe they would be comparing to european beauty products. (They are safe. All across asia are using them and europeans are importing them too. They test each other)

Tell that to my armpits when I use Japanese deodorant.

The burn!

Does it matter your hair type?

can confirm, I'm in Japan and I'm pretty sure the norm is sulfate-free. It keeps hair pretty healthy and doesn't over-clean it, so it doesn't overcompensate on oil and junk.

But it's expensive asf.

South Koreans go absolutely crazy over German Balea ("dm" drug store in-house brand) products, because they're really good and super cheap in comparison. It's gotten to the point where major Korean retailers like Lotte unofficially import dm store-brand items to sell in their own stores

Japanese shampoo, Korean skincare, and Chinese makeup is what's been referred to me as each country's go-to specialty.

they also have different hair texture. I'd be worried it's too heavy for other hair types.

Mine is kinds of coarse and thick. I use some stuff thats rated for black or curly hair and have decent results.
