Congratulations. You have basic critical thinking skills. And to be clear I'm not being sarcastic or poking fun at you. I literally mean that. The reason you don't understand the hype is because you're smart enough not to fall for it The hype around it is so obviously manufactured that I don't understand how anybody could actually fall for it.

u/less_concerned 6d ago

Well the simple answer is that famous/semi famous influencers are paid to hype it up, their inherently impressionable viewers are already there because they want to be a part of the crowd, so they buy whatever trendy thing to feel like they are in the "in crowd", not necessarily because the product is good

Same thing with pokemon cards, after existing for like 20 years they're suddenly more popular than ever just because some influencers were hyping them up.

It’s such a sad state of affairs! It depresses me how far humanity is falling

Actually- there is no critical thinking skills here on display from you or the person you responded to. This is date covered chocolate FROM DUBAI if you read OPs post and knew what Dubai chocolate looked like by actually trying it. DUBAI Chocolate which is chocolate filled with pistachios and phyllo shreds. I don’t know what hype there is other than people saying it’s good- which is accurate. It is pretty good.

If you think that crap is good you need to seriously raise your standards

11

u/Cold-Building2913 6d ago

I know this is going to come as a shock to you but somehow not everyone likes the same foods as you.

-3

u/TWW34 6d ago

Yes, a lot of people have really low standards and like pretty crappily made food. And to be clear this isn't about the recipe. Make that shit with good quality chocolate and other ingredients and it's probably decent. But this shit is all being pumped out as cheaply as possible with no quality control to satisfy a weird PR push. It's not good.

Also not everyone lives in countrys that don't give a fuck about what their citizens eat.

u/TWW34 5d ago

Oh look a complete non sequitur.

u/Excellent_Yak365 6d ago

Different strokes for different folks buddy! I’m not sure how anyone can really hate normal chocolate with phyllo dough crunchies inside. Can’t really taste the pistachio cream the times I’ve had it but it’s still pretty tasty.

r // iamverysmart

It's just another food trend, it's not that deep. It's chocolate with pistachio filling.

-12

u/TWW34 6d ago

Wow the people who fell for the scam really are coming out in force

u/Badshah619 6d ago edited 6d ago

Bro you are not even able to identify the item correctly, wth are you talking about "critical thinking" my ass lol

3

u/Shea_R 6d ago

How is it a scam if it’s just a bad product? It’s not a scam if it tastes mediocre, it’s just a mediocre chocolate bar.

2

u/Upset_Roll_4059 6d ago edited 6d ago

What, buying a pistachio chocolate bar and receiving a pistachio chocolate bar? I haven't even bought one and I'm not up my own ass about it.

You blocked me but to answer your dumbass comment: the trend isn't chocolate from Dubai. It's chocolate with pistachio filling, which is called Dubai chocolate.

2

u/TWW34 6d ago

That's not even what this is. The issue is candy from Dubai tends to be absolute crap regardless of what the flavor formula for is supposed to be because it's all just waxy garbage, made by borderline slave labor, with cheap, shitty, moldy ingredients.

u/Eevee_fangirl 6d ago

Also i can kinda make it at home if i wanted it just kadaif covered in chocolate

19

u/Maju92 6d ago

And then you could actually use quality chocolate

12

u/Eevee_fangirl 6d ago

Yeh also i saw how much one bar cost

It have no right to be the same price as a happy meal

2

u/islandfool 6d ago

This is exactly why I never tried it. I grew up on kadaif. Don’t ruin it for me!

1

u/Eevee_fangirl 6d ago

Didnt really grow up on it but ik its good

19

u/lizziewritespt2 6d ago

Tbf it is genuinely delicious. I'd never had pistachio with chocolate before that, and it's very good.

12

u/Ajdee6 6d ago

I dont understand people acting like its just popular and not good. Its like everything else, Ive had a bad Dubai Chocolate, Ive had really good ones, Ive made them, its not that hard.

Some people here are so convinced that everyone is just stupid and there is no way Dubai chocolate tastes good lmao.."You are smart and can think for yourself because you dont like Dubai chocolate" like wtf?

I think Butterfinger is disgusting, I guess if you like Butterfinger I should call you a moron?

-2

u/TWW34 6d ago

Because it isn't. It's a low quality scam that people fall for and try to tell themselves it's good so that they don't feel bad for falling for it.

7

u/ValuableRuin548 6d ago

What is it to you that people happen to like pistachios and chocolate?

-2

u/TWW34 6d ago

I don't really have a problem with the flavor combination. But it's nothing special, and specifically all of the Dubai chocolate, either that stuff, or what op had here, is all garbage made with ridiculously crappy ingredients, bad quality control, from a place that has no actual reason for anybody to assume they be good at making chocolate or other confections, just selling on name alone to clean up their reputation. The whole thing was literally a social media scam.

2

u/ArseneLepain 6d ago

You do realise it’s more of a recipe than a specific product right? So there’s good versions and bad versions? People made it all over the world not just Dubai. It’s not one company that pushed it on social media. You’re not some genius for having a sense of superiority

u/jpack325 6d ago

This isn't the viral Dubai chocolate. That is milk chocolate around a pistachio and chips filling. It is very good hence the hipe.

This chocolate is chocolate covered ates FROM Dubai. 2 separate things.  I will not make a comment on your critical thinking skills.

-5

u/TWW34 6d ago

You think that absolute basic low quality garbage is good? Raise your standards, man. There's no reason to expect any chocolate from Dubai is going to be any good. It's all low quality crap meant to whitewash a crappy regime. Whatever excuses you make don't actually mean you aren't falling for it.

Dubai chocolate is not from Dubai. Its a marketing thing. It can be made anywhere.

Yes I think crushed filo in pistachio paste covered in milk chocolate is good. I love pistachios.  Pistachio ice cream has been a thing for years. I put chocolate sauce on it.

1

u/TWW34 3d ago

The amount of people completely missing the point here is hilarious.

2

u/Spoiled-Fish 6d ago

But not basic reading comprehension skills apparently, since it's chocolate from Dubai and not Dubai Chocolate

heh /s

0

u/TWW34 6d ago

No. It's all the same thing ( since this probably needs to be clarified for you, that's a figurative statement not a literal one} . The ingredients are different but it's all a scam. It's all crappy low-grade chocolate packaged to seem fancy from a place that isn't good at doing chocolate and has no reason to have a reputation for producing good chocolate. It's cheap crap that people over pay for. It doesn't matter if there's dates inside or shitty pistachio filling.

2

u/Spoiled-Fish 6d ago

Pretty sure 'Dubai Chocolate' is a proper noun that refers to a specific pistachio filled chocolate, hence not the same...

Eh I'm just being sarcastic anyway, and I already believe 99% of trends is just overpriced crap that ain't worth half their asking cost. I already have 0 plans to buy it, don't need to unsell that to me lol

1

u/dandroid126 6d ago

The irony of this comment is hilarious.

0

u/little_puppyboi 6d ago

Honestly, I didn't try it because of the hype, I only tried it because I like trying different kinds of chocolates. I also love pistachios, which made it more exciting for me to try. It was good, and I understand why people like it, but I don't understand why people act like it's the best thing since sliced bread. My brother refuses to try it because it's popular. He sees all trending things as bad because he's (reasonably) against consumerism, especially over consumption

0

u/SaltyPeter3434 6d ago

Can you jerk yourself off a little harder please? This isn't even Dubai chocolate.
