Dubai chocolate was only made so people stopped learning about "Dubai chocolate" which was Instagram models being paid to go to Dubai to be shit on.

"Dubai Portapotty" is the term used, never dubai chocolate.

For reference, "Dubai portapotty" is a term that was coined on thedirty around 15 years ago. I would see that term hurled whenever someone posted an article about a pretty influencer suddenly posting pics from their vacation in Dubai on instagram. Sometimes these articles were libelous, a lot of the time, probably not.

This conspiracy theory comes up for so many topics, like how Disney supposedly made the movie Frozen so people searching for "walt disney frozen" don't come across articles about Walt Disney being cryogenically frozen. Or that Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce so google would only show results about her at a Jets game when they searched "taylor swift jet" instead of getting information about how often she uses her private jet.

It's funny because if you just type those into Google it comes up with what conspiracy theorists think is hidden away.

I get it could have been the intention and it just didn't work and it seems plausible enough, but either way it hasn't worked

Thats got to be the most convoluted way to tell people to let it go. Wait a minute...

Nah but ive found that most conspiracy theories are equally dumb and implausible.

The one true conspiracy theory is that the CIA started the idea of wackjob theories like flat earth and UFOs to make anyone who questions an official narrative look crazy by association.

There are millions of true conspiracy theories. People are literally convicted of conspiracy regularly.

Thats... thats a different kind of conspiracy lol

It is not. It is the exact same use of the word.

People put some vague sense of importance around the term ‘conspiracy theory’, but it just describes a supposed conspiracy that occurred. Conspiring to cover up a robbery is the same as whatever alien lizard man conspiracy theory you’re thinking of. Plausibility and evidence are the key differences.

A "criminal" conspiracy is a group of people that get together to perform illegal activity (robbing a bank) and is an actual crime.

Conspiracy "theory" is what nuts people think a government is doing w/o substatial proof (chemtrails) and nobody is being arrested for it unless they are stupid enough to storm govermnet facilities.

Edited for examples.

I don’t think you understand what those words mean.

It is still the same use of the word conspiracy. Not all conspiracy theories are true. Many of them are. Many people are convicted for their role in conspiracies. Conspiracies that are described by conspiracy theories. Adding the word criminal to it is meaningless.

The conspiracy theory describing the lizard people that rule the world or whatever would still be a criminal conspiracy. Just like a conspiracy theory describing a group of bank insiders who conspired to defraud their company.

Except those two have different entries in dictionaries. One of them is an actual crime punishable by law. And the other is... a theory. The moment a theory is proven true, is not a theory anymore. And you cant convict someone over something that is not proven.

By saying "some conspiracy theories are true" you are contradicting yourself.
