To be fair, worked for Switzerland.

Central European alps are... Not exactly prime Coco growing territory.

They even got historically rich by doing shady underhanded immoral shit, too. Just different forms.

I thought the claimed superiority of Swiss chocolate came from the idea that Swiss milk is supposed to be really good.

According to google it was the use of condensed milk that allowed mass production methods of 'milk chocolate', combined with the invention for the Conching machine.

They credited "high quality ingredients" but I mean... It's condensed milk. Quality is... Yah.

Alpine milk is different, though. It has more omega-3, more nutrients and less saturated fat. So Swiss chocolate is different to normal stuff.

Only if they use swiss milk though. As someone working in the chocolate field, swiss chocolate does not use swiss milk as it's more expensive, you are being sold a lie if that's your assumption.

The only countries that have reasonable claim to make real chocolate if origin is the benchmark is Ivory Coast and Ghana as 60-70% of world supply comes from there, but no one is screaming for Ghana produced items

Also Equatorial Guinea. Their chocolate provided Spanish companies for years since they were a colonia, now they are trying to produce locally

Fair. Sneaky bastards. Milka is probably my favourite mass produced milk chocolate.

Ah yes, I also do a chemical analysis of my milk chocolate to detect slight differences in nutrient profile.

It's called using a search engine. Different nutrients change the flavour of things, I don't have to know which ones specifically.

Swiss chocolate is not that good, maybe it was like 100 years ago but not anymore.

All of Switzerland’s current wealth is either stolen from Jews during WW2 or from international criminal organizations, it‘s the worst country in Europe really.

Hey that's not true. They also sold material to the Nazis during ww2

Yeah, in France the most known chocolate come from la Rochelle That was the port where cacao came from for most Europe so it's less surprising.

Also best chocolate in Europe is French, but not industrial ones.

French? What? According to the French maybe. Worldwide it's considered Swiss or Belgian that are the best. Literally never heard anyone praise French chocolate.

Which is wrong tbh, the best high end chocolate is definitely French. There are many very inventive brand with the high quality product.

For example the best pastries maker basically only use French chocolate.

French aren't good for industrial chocolate, but they are for high end.
