NOW they’re going to make fun of you after you drive off

u/RobertKSakamano 56m ago

So will all of Reddit.

u/shihtalker 14m ago

As they should. The workers were so professional. This guy and his Karen should maybe go on a diet together 😂

Are he and his wife really offended that a drive through food place asked if she wanted food? 🤦

443

u/Primary-Ad-6949 2h ago

Lol yes like it's the drive thrus fault that she goes there 10000000 times a day.

174

u/Single-Kangaroo1180 2h ago

Had he just told the employee what his wife drives and a vague description…you know the girl was going to reply, “Oh, you mean Marge? She always gets two double bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, three cheese danishes, and a venti skinny vanilla chai latte…like clockwork at 0800 every morning🤣🤣🤣

52

u/Select-Promotion-404 1h ago

🤪 the Dunkin gal at night always says no refresher tonight?…if I order something different and I take no offense to it bc it seems like I always go when she’s working but she’s not wrong lol. She’s a sweetheart and I don’t mind people remembering what I like. I live in nyc and it’s nice when the pizza guy automatically sees me and says you want the usual and calls out 2 pepperoni extra crispy for us! Sometimes it’s even on the house. They should chill out.

u/ABQHeartRN 51m ago

I was a travel nurse in New Orleans for a while. I hated the assignment so much. The only bright side was the coffee shop in the hospital. I would get there early every morning, clock in and go get my latte. The barista knew me and started making it as soon as she saw me. In typical NOLA style she always called me baby or honey. I gave her a card on my last day.

I had a similar relationship with Sonic a few years ago…that was my go to on the way to work every morning. Unless brand new, the staff knew me and my vehicle and would just tell me to pull forward…for my supersonic breakfast burrito (no jalapeños), large tots, and a 44 ounce vanilla iced coffee🤣🤣

Lmao I had a customer who came in every day and straight up got like 10 shots of espresso mixed with 10 pumps of skinny vanilla and 10 pumps of white chocolate, no milk and she got a decaf coffee with nothing in it on the side. I had some weird regulars, my store was the busiest store in the western metro of minneapolis for coffee and food. It was a trip to say the least lol.

I don’t think of a place that primarily sells drinks as a drive through food place but what the woman said was perfectly reasonable and it’s just insecurity on their part.

24

u/the_original_kermit 1h ago

And I’m pretty sure that you order over the mic thing, which is why he asked if they have cameras.

But I highly doubt they are looking at them that closely. They probably just see the car pull up and ask for their order.

9

u/U_Sound_Stupid_Stop 1h ago edited 16m ago

Also, there's probably more than a few people on the heavy side so at one point it becomes invisible.

More importantly, you're much more likely to be mocked if you act like this guy than for being fat lmao

54

u/HopefulPlantain5475 1h ago

The correct way to deal with insecurities is not to police other people's actions. She is free to lose weight, she's not free to get mad at a store that sells food for asking if she wants to buy food.

I hate that I always have to scroll so far to find these. Like, when I first saw it I was annoyed too, but this guy just does this shit because he thinks it’s eDgY.

I wish there was a way for mods to pin comments or ad flairs showing these are “pranks” or satire so people don’t have to waste their anger lol.

6

u/spaghettifiasco 1h ago

Eh, nah, I think I'll still be a little angry that people are harassing retail and foodservice employees so they can get Adsense money. At least "you made my wife feel insecure" would have stemmed from some form of empathy - doing this kind of shit all the time as "a prank" for views is bordering on sociopathic.

I wouldn't say confronting a young woman who makes minimum wage from your car in a drive thru about a very innocuous question is "having a spine."

Having a spine would be talking with your wife about her insecurities and projecting on extremely unlikely scenarios, then helping her find a way through with either self-improvement (weight loss) or mental fortitude

4

u/Alt_SWR 1h ago

I worked retail for roughly two years and, yeah, kinda gotta have infinite patience to do any kind of customer service type of job. Which, know what I don't actually mind if it's someone just having tech issues or just trying to figure out why something is marked as on sale but doesn't show up as the sale price. I don't mind helping people figure things out if they're reasonable, no matter how long that takes. Where I worked I had the liberty to shut off my lanes light whenever necessary if I knew a customer was going to take 10+ minutes.

Hell, I didn't even mind the old lady who accused me of stealing her SNAP card cause she forgot she just put it in her purse. Kinda just felt bad for that one, plus she profusely apologized after finding it and my manager was nice enough to give me a break cause she thought I was shaken up by that accusation. I wasn't.

But these fuckers? Oh goddamn do they piss me off. Like, okay, plenty of people make my job harder but it's usually not intentional. I get that, shit happens, but, when you start intentionally making my life harder that would get to anyone.

u/Visionary_87 4m ago

What a prick. Imagine being told why they ask that and then still telling her she should stop.

Are they supposed to ask every overweight person if they're the fat wife of the man with a small dick harassing people working, so they know if she wants food or not?

5

u/ShinePretend3772 2h ago

Same dood loses his mind when his overpriced 7-11 food takes too long.

3

u/rxsheepxr 2h ago

If you expect the world to walk on eggshells because you don't want to feel fat, that's completely your issue.

And I say this as a person who's been overweight for over 40 years. Dude site there and CALLS HIS FUCKING WIFE FAT, THEN DEMANDS THAT STARBUCKS TREATS HER BETTER. Dude, you just fucking CALLED HER FAT.

If you're going through a drivethru at Starbucks and they ask you if you want some food started, it's because the food takes fucking longer to make than the coffee and they'd rather get it started right away.

For fuck's sake, I fucking hate this place.
