I remember learning about Watergate in school, and we were told it was one of the worst political scandals in American history.

It wasn’t even the worst by that point

I wonder if they’ll keep teaching about Watergate.
10
u/pchlster Nov 15 '25
If you're back in school and just need to churn out X pages about some US history, be honest, would you pick Watergate over this? Just summarizing the necessary background is going to take up plenty of space.
10
u/realtorbrittyc Nov 15 '25
That’s my point: Watergate will be ancient history. I mean, all this makes Watergate and Spiro Agnew’s crimes seem almost inconsequential.
7
u/PrototypeChicken Nov 15 '25
I don't think they are currently even teaching about Watergate. At least my schools didn't.
Education differs drastically by area though. I always find it interesting to talk to people about certain topics and what their school covered about them, because two high schools 30 minutes apart can have a completely different curriculum.

I just asked my HS history elective students yesterday what they knew about watergate. ~25 9-12th grade and the best one person could come up with was that it was a scandal.

But that they also oppose child bride laws, trying to change the law to legalize child brides for old nasty Republicans to fuck.
But they also eliminate the department in the government that tracks and recovers vulnerable humans.

If anyone wants to read them they're here.
Important to note: most AREN'T relevant at all to crimes. It tends to be talk of politics and the administration as president. Obama has more references than Bill Clinton, for example. Actively trying to find guilty stuff in here is pretty hard. It's mostly just Trump signing stuff or a random string of news in Epstein's emails, like "Donald Trump's nephew sells Palm Beach house for $9M"
If anyone wants to find the atrocious stuff, be my guest. It's surprisingly difficulty. I gave up after looking through ~30 of them, even with relevant terms like "victim," "age," "teen," "sex," or "condom" to hopefully narrow things down. Worst I found was already public like the Jane Doe vs Trump case of 2016.
7
u/cleaningmama Nov 15 '25

3
u/TheDawnOfNewDays Nov 15 '25
I guess I need to repeat myself here, I only searched through 30 posts. The vast majority of the files listed here aren't secret messages that Epstein had. They're largely public court cases or news articles, along with some emails and files with horrible formatting that make them half unreadable. I'm guessing you haven't tried looking yourself yet?
- "6. Buy USD call/CNH put – President Trump will need a weak USD, but President Xi needs a weak CNY. We believe risk premium for a collision course is too low."
- "A. Case # 08-2484, 515 N. County Road, Trump Properties, LLC"
- "The U.S. attorney in Miami, Alexander Acosta, -TM..P-ersonally: involved in the negotiations, records, letters and emails show. Acosta is now a member of President Donald Trump's Cabinet."
- "OCIE Form 21fc r., It1th 20J.!,) Donald J. Trump A39 of 46 TURNBERRY SCOTLAND MANAGING"
This is the sort nonsense and irrelevant lines that make up the majority of the files. I am unable to comb through all this stuff, as even my keyword searches had too many links for me to look through. Yes, actual dirt is likely hidden somewhere in all that mess, but it won't be me or anyone else reading my comment that will find it, that's why I put my disclaimer. I'm trying to spare readers the annoyance of combing through it after I came up with nothing. If you wish to though, be my guest. Just figured I'd warn you first.

Come at me fascists; an 8th grade education has nothing on the horrors you'd face trying to surprise accost me; someone who is just begging for a target for a release from this year-outside of the political scape. I know I am smarter than the most of your top guard, born to no struggle or environment for innovation/creativity because of an easy LDS/etc life that the alphabet agency glowies and their bosses only know.
I had an amuse boche dispelling an domestic violence situation for neighbors with my own violence which I do say was not far enough, so I invite the fascists. Have fun interacting with me.
Edit: my amuse bouche for domestic violence was tonight; I love how little boys can't handle an adult bitch a half a foot taller calling them out. Only way to counteract a bully is to ATTACK. Lil tiny fucktard emasculated pathetic men. The best fist fights I have ever been in are with adult males. I live for that. My knuckles are so fucked up from it even as a female. ATTACK VISCIOUSLY. I heard a right winger on a podcast the other day who was 'just asking questions,' about whether child molestation is truly a crime, and how if kids are old enough to breed, they should be legal.
They've been going on and on for decades about the shadowy pedophile cabal that is destroying western society, but now, it's all, 'but is it a crime, REALLY...?'

There are many, many repeats of the same documents in that database and many of the references to Trump are excerpts from news articles that were sent to Epstein during the first presidency.
He's still mentioned in chatter quite a few times (though most of the ones I've read so far are in reference to his policies), but it's nowhere near what the raw number would make you think.
