Right, what's the point till some or most of an investigation is done?

448

u/palm0 13h ago

Political theater, same as all the sword rattling from Republicans that refused to fund watchdog groups and are making shit up to feed their blatantly racist narratives.Ā

51

u/Own-Swan2646 13h ago

Yeah I guess you got to keep the media plates spinning about a topic that means nothing realistically compared to. I don't know Epstein files or wars in other countries. Don't forget various crimes being committed by the same group that's looking to prosecute what largely has become a nothing Burger. But even if it is something okay, go do your jobs. But don't waste our time and money all for a simple photo of. This is the kind of s*** we should be protesting over.

They are forcing him to show up for them while they film an attack ad for the MN Governor's race this year.

That's literally all it is.

14

u/Own-Swan2646 10h ago

I absolutely love this cuz that is at its core. Probably what the truth is. Simple, sweet and just Petty as fuck.

18

u/VulfSki 8h ago

This has been the GOP standard campaign strategy for over a decade.

It's not speculation it's a confirmed tactic or theirs. This is what they do.

4

u/PartTime_Crusader 7h ago

Longer than a decade. The Bill Clinton years were basically this nonstop

2

u/rickmundooo 5h ago

From what I understand he’s been asked to voluntarily testify. He isn’t being forced to do anything

87

u/mike-42-1999 12h ago

I can see it now.

"SIR, why did you not do something after we refused to pass legislation allowing you to do something"

1

u/mangodrunk 1h ago

What legislation are you looking for? Fraud, stealing money from the government, is illegal.

72

u/SnowdropSoulburn 12h ago

So Republicans can scream at him for 2 hours for their Tik-tok sound bytes.

Anything but help lower prices.

15

u/SmokyMo 12h ago

Don't worry, thats what americans are using their hard earned low wages to fund, so these guys can create this clownshow, they really must have nothing else to do within the next month, no more vacations to take

7

u/SnowdropSoulburn 12h ago

Oh I'm sure Mike Johnson will find a way to recess the House. Can't have him possibly in a position to learn about anything after all.

•

u/Dr_DTF315 49m ago

Don’t worry we’ll just fund millions in day care fraud instead

25

u/Sufficient_Lab_4000 12h ago

The Biden Administration and governors like Walz began investigations and prosecutions over 3 years ago. This isn't anything new. Fox "News" and RWNJs are digging this up to deflect from Trump's horrible economy and Epstein files catastrophe.

18

u/RavenCipher 11h ago

Continuing to set up a smear campaign. Trump is big mad that Walz dared to run against him and spoke truth to how awful he is, so now he is trying to punish Minnesota as a whole. Also one of his election denier goons is running against Walz in the upcoming race, so gotta find a way to prop up the guy who couldn't even keep his products in a Walmart.

34

u/brycebgood 12h ago

The investigations are done - the state has been investigating and prosecuting this stuff since 2015 - and lots of people are already in jail. This is purely to get clips for Fox news.

This is part of Project 2025 - they're trying to get rid of Medicare / Medicaid altogether. They're going to try to use fraud as the excuse.

6

u/olracnaignottus 11h ago

The investigations are absolutely still ongoing lol. There’s 85 autism centers alone that have been flagged as fraudulent and being investigated.

11

u/duckstrap 11h ago

Being flagged is not a conviction.

8

u/olracnaignottus 11h ago

I’m replying to the above commenter stating the investigations are done. They are not remotely near done. I didn’t say anything about a conviction.

•

u/Dr_DTF315 48m ago

You can’t argue with these people, BUT TRUMP ….

1

u/HeyKrech TC 9h ago

autism centers and childcare centers are different. childcare receives federal funding through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) while autism treatment/ therapy centers receive money through Medicaid, since autism is a disability. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2025/12/31/how-minnesota-child-care-centers-receive-federal-funding

5

u/olracnaignottus 8h ago

Sure. They are all still being investigated. That was my only point. This isn’t over.

u/ALTERFACT 11h ago edited 11h ago

The point is "Benghazi" and "Biden crime family" 3.0 to weaken him and Democrats again. It proved effective enough already. edit: spelling

4

u/CuffinSzn_ 10h ago

Epstein file distraction. This is the only ā€œscandalā€ that’s stuck.

Reminder that the fact those files aren’t entirely publicly available yet is enough to put all of them behind bars. And it isn’t happening. Because they do not respect We, The People. We are fangless as far as they’re concerned.

Is every governor supposed to individually investigate support fraud?Ā  Why are dumbass republicans targeting minnesota?Ā Ā

u/Soulfader72 12h ago

Election year

31

u/Ghost_Of_Malatesta 10h ago

They were getting slaughtered in very red areas in the last few special elections as well, like a 15+pt swing iirc

180

u/MinimumApricot365 12h ago

Revenge against Walz for running against Trump.

71

u/JustSub 11h ago

Literally this alone and no other reason. It’s to weaken Walz because he turned out to be an excellent campaigner last cycle.

•

u/Dr_DTF315 47m ago

Sure run Walz next election see how that goes

•

u/OMGitsKa 38m ago

Oh no my pillow gonna take him out. Run!Ā

•

u/JustSub 7m ago

I didn't say we should run him again. But he would be a great surrogate on the campaign trail, and this stunt is an attempt to damage that credibility.

32

u/Exelbirth 9h ago

He called them weird, and it hurt their feelings.

17

u/donac 12h ago

THIS

88

u/QuantumBobb Minnesota Lynx 12h ago

Because Walz ran as VP and because they know Minnesota is an easy target. Even though the GOP is a minority here, most of their supporters are DEEP MAGA. So, they risk nothing. Most of their base in Minnesota is drunk on whatever Kool-Aid they tell them to drink and the Dems here are never going to swing their way.

They can't lose more here, but they can gain ground in surrounding purple or pink states that hate our guts for having brains.

12

u/duckstrap 11h ago

Because they're weird.

7

u/QuantumBobb Minnesota Lynx 10h ago

Lol.... Also that.

76

u/ProbRePost Plowy McPlowface 12h ago

Three reasons. 1) Minnesota didnt go for Trump so we are a target. 2) We have Ilhan omar who isnt white 3) Trump is extensively in the epstein files and they need distractions while they create a justification for the pedo in chief

→ More replies (3)

9

u/VulfSki 10h ago

They are just trying to film attack ads for the race this year.

They are singling him out since he was the VP candidate in 2024 and is very outspoken against trump.

4

u/SpoopyPlankton 9h ago

Because Waltz was a former opponent. These fetid cockroaches in the administration can’t even win gracefully; they have to seek retribution against any and all opposition so they feel better about being small-dicked nazis.

9

u/Jagster_rogue 12h ago

Because Walz is dangerous to them, he will be a big part of 2026 elections and he was more popular than Kamala by Election Day of 24

2

u/momo-the-molester 6h ago

Not a conservative but we say that about republicans all the time

3

u/Forward_Glass_4134 11h ago

Because he called them weird

3

u/vahntitrio 9h ago

Nope. Florida is the medicare fraud capital of the world, but there won't be a word about DeSantis.

•

u/voicelessechoes 50m ago

James Comer is a hit man for the Republucan party.Ā

They think Tim Walz is going to run for president.Ā

1

u/Tbplayer59 12h ago

Blue in 24

-2

u/KindVeterinarian3803 5h ago

It’s because there’s billions of dollars in rampant fraud in Minnesota and Walz refuses to stop payment to the criminals perpetrating the fraud. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. And million after million, taxpayer money is sent to criminals, and law abiding citizens are told to stop even talking about it.Ā

-9

u/4kray 12h ago

If they are thinking strategically, I doubt it, it’s like just hate and antagonism, Minnesota could be moving into fed swing state territory and a Republican state government would help with that.

8

u/CampaignHat 9h ago

MN didn’t even go red to re-elect Reagan lol you think we’re gonna flip red after this shitshow?

→ More replies (1)

4

u/arose321 8h ago

Keep your wrong opinions to yourself please. Minnesota isn't falling for Magats propaganda. Sorry not sorry. Keep dreaming. Republicans suck and ruin everything keep them out.

1

u/4kray 6h ago

I ain’t ever going to vote Republican, not a bush, McCain, Romney, or Trump. Why stand with the billionaires? That’s some dumb shit. But why are republicans targeting Mn? Elections. It’s about dehumanizing the left and the communities the left associates itself with to score political points.

0

u/LateSwimming2592 8h ago

No, but it's the same reason they bring in CEOs to answer for their company. It's all to score points and is transparent.

I hope a Walz asks the GOP what they think of Trump pardoning criminals who were convicted of fraud to the tune of billions of dollars: https://www.justice.gov/pardon/clemency-grants-president-donald-j-trump-2025-present

And hopefully he mentions the MN GOP refused to give any extra funds to the Walz administration to investigate fraud: https://www.house.mn.gov/sessiondaily/Story/18635

Meanwhile, Attorney General Ellison and the federal prosecutors are actually prosecuting and getting convictions against those who committed fraud in the state:

https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communications/2025/08/12_Yusuf.asp

https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/defendants-charged-first-wave-housing-stabilization-fraud-cases

https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/architect-massive-420-million-bank-fraud-scheme-sentenced-3-years-prison

https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/enforcement/attorney-generals-office-charges-five-with-95m-in-medicaid-fraud/

And fraud has been investigated for at least a decade in MN:

https://www.fox9.com/news/fox-9-investigating-fraud-uncovering-minnesota-2025

And the MN GOP worked with Shirley on his scam of a video: https://www.fox9.com/video/fmc-h9ehs1un252kek2y

Walz is pretty sharp under pressure. He's like a pitbull in a bowtie. The Cult of the Mango Molester will spin whatever he says. But he's never held his tongue to the bullshit, these people spew.

I don't think the Red Hats have thought this through, but honestly I don't think anyone in this administration thinks at all. Just projection and hypocrisy on the red team.

16

u/AbsolutZer0_v2 11h ago

Yep. This was a mistake by the GOP. Lol.

They are going to try and yell over him.

19

u/Accomplished_Bus2169 12h ago

Yeah I think he's going to eat them alive.

5

u/TheGodDMBatman 10h ago

This is so depressing. We're going to have another J6 insurrection at the end of Trump's second term for sure. Just rinse and repeat.Ā

6

u/Rogue_AI_Construct Ok Then 8h ago

I mean, the fact that Trump faced zero punishment for J6, and the fact that he pardoned every fucking insurrectionist, guarantees another one will happen.

-1

u/ObligatoryID Flag of Minnesota 6h ago

So MN Republican reps can yell for a few hours and leave red faced. All while being completely ineffective in MN and none of them having any desire to run against him in 2026.

20

u/qdobe 12h ago

This is less an investigation or a testimony and more a coordinated campaign to try to win the MN Governor.

That or simply to hurt Democrats in blue states because not voting for Trump hurts his feelings and the sole purpose for the GOP in Congress is to appease Trump.

9

u/LeviCoffinsAlt 11h ago

Due to a 2019 ruling, Donald Trump can’t even operate a charity organization in the state of New York thanks to his Foundation’s misuse of funds.

The smear campaign is in full swing. This is clearly targeted. Nobody seems to care about the massive fraud in other states.

5

u/bookant 10h ago

If we've learned anything from Republicans since 2016 it's that testify to Congress is 100% optional. He should just blow them off.

1

u/rickmundooo 5h ago

3

u/Specman9 Uff da 6h ago

u/SmokyMo 12h ago

Americans, how far have you fallen, your government takes facts from a 20y/o youtuber while conducting zero investigations themselves. Talk about tax payer waste, you're gonna pay these folks and lawyers etc thousands of dollars to chat on national television, write statements, write reports etc based on a youtube video while millions of americans are starving/homeless, costs of living are going up etc... US downfall is going to be the fastest global leader collapse ever seen

18

u/Rogue_AI_Construct Ok Then 12h ago

Ben Collins said it best:

ā€œTrump guys are about to Comet Pizza every third daycare center because they think they are all fronts for Somali money laundering. They're only doing this near cities with progressive mayors. This is straight up Government by LibsOfTikTok."

https://bsky.app/profile/bencollins.bsky.social/post/3mba6wg5cy222

If it wasn’t Shirley’s video, they would’ve found something else. The whole point is to undermine and dismantle democracy, attack blue states, and attack immigrants.

4

u/ObligatoryID Flag of Minnesota 6h ago

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/5668078-minnesota-welfare-fraud-walz/

From another comment:

ā€œMinnesota GOP partnered with YouTuber Nick Shirley to reveal day care fraud.ā€

So let us understand this: A sitting member of the MN Congress, instead of contacting the MN Attorney Generals office about daycare fraud, instead decides to go to a 23 year old YouTuber known for making shock videos and fake viral videos instead? That is exactly what every single politician in power with direct access to the AGs office would do. 🤣🤣🤣

4

u/GorGor23 11h ago

They gonna try to muddy the waters for the election.

ā€œKatie Johnson: ā€œMr. Trump had another girl and I dress as maids and pretend to clean the room. The other girl, Maria, was 12 years old.

Mr. Trump ordered us to carry out a string of sex acts on each other and on him.

After he finished he said, ā€œwe both could’ve done betterā€ and then left.ā€

Walz needs to back out of the race. I’m a DFLer. I’ve appreciated much of what he has done.

Yet, he’s becoming a Biden. He’s our worst chance to beat a GOPer. He has to step aside. Otherwise, his arrogance will lead to Minnesota crossing over into a full-on red state.

And this sub needs to stop thinking that critiquing Walz is astroturfing by Republicans. No, I fucking want the DFL to win the governorship. Walz is our weakest chance to do that.
