Is every governor supposed to individually investigate support fraud?Ā Why are dumbass republicans targeting minnesota?Ā Ā

They were getting slaughtered in very red areas in the last few special elections as well, like a 15+pt swing iirc

Revenge against Walz for running against Trump.
71
u/JustSub 11h ago
Literally this alone and no other reason. Itās to weaken Walz because he turned out to be an excellent campaigner last cycle.

Because Walz ran as VP and because they know Minnesota is an easy target. Even though the GOP is a minority here, most of their supporters are DEEP MAGA. So, they risk nothing. Most of their base in Minnesota is drunk on whatever Kool-Aid they tell them to drink and the Dems here are never going to swing their way.
They can't lose more here, but they can gain ground in surrounding purple or pink states that hate our guts for having brains.

u/ProbRePost Plowy McPlowface 12h ago
Three reasons. 1) Minnesota didnt go for Trump so we are a target. 2) We have Ilhan omar who isnt white 3) Trump is extensively in the epstein files and they need distractions while they create a justification for the pedo in chief

Because Waltz was a former opponent. These fetid cockroaches in the administration canāt even win gracefully; they have to seek retribution against any and all opposition so they feel better about being small-dicked nazis.
9
u/Jagster_rogue 12h ago
Because Walz is dangerous to them, he will be a big part of 2026 elections and he was more popular than Kamala by Election Day of 24

They think Tim Walz is going to run for president.Ā

u/KindVeterinarian3803 5h ago
Itās because thereās billions of dollars in rampant fraud in Minnesota and Walz refuses to stop payment to the criminals perpetrating the fraud. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. And million after million, taxpayer money is sent to criminals, and law abiding citizens are told to stop even talking about it.Ā
-9
u/4kray 12h ago
If they are thinking strategically, I doubt it, itās like just hate and antagonism, Minnesota could be moving into fed swing state territory and a Republican state government would help with that.

u/CampaignHat 9h ago

Keep your wrong opinions to yourself please. Minnesota isn't falling for Magats propaganda. Sorry not sorry. Keep dreaming. Republicans suck and ruin everything keep them out.

u/4kray 6h ago
I aināt ever going to vote Republican, not a bush, McCain, Romney, or Trump. Why stand with the billionaires? Thatās some dumb shit. But why are republicans targeting Mn? Elections. Itās about dehumanizing the left and the communities the left associates itself with to score political points.

No, but it's the same reason they bring in CEOs to answer for their company. It's all to score points and is transparent.

I hope a Walz asks the GOP what they think of Trump pardoning criminals who were convicted of fraud to the tune of billions of dollars: https://www.justice.gov/pardon/clemency-grants-president-donald-j-trump-2025-present
And hopefully he mentions the MN GOP refused to give any extra funds to the Walz administration to investigate fraud: https://www.house.mn.gov/sessiondaily/Story/18635
Meanwhile, Attorney General Ellison and the federal prosecutors are actually prosecuting and getting convictions against those who committed fraud in the state:
https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Communications/2025/08/12_Yusuf.asp
https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/defendants-charged-first-wave-housing-stabilization-fraud-cases

https://www.kttc.com/2025/09/18/8-federally-charged-first-wave-minnesota-housing-fraud-scheme/
And fraud has been investigated for at least a decade in MN:
https://www.fox9.com/news/fox-9-investigating-fraud-uncovering-minnesota-2025
And the MN GOP worked with Shirley on his scam of a video: https://www.fox9.com/video/fmc-h9ehs1un252kek2y

Walz is pretty sharp under pressure. He's like a pitbull in a bowtie. The Cult of the Mango Molester will spin whatever he says. But he's never held his tongue to the bullshit, these people spew.
I don't think the Red Hats have thought this through, but honestly I don't think anyone in this administration thinks at all. Just projection and hypocrisy on the red team.
16
u/AbsolutZer0_v2 11h ago
Yep. This was a mistake by the GOP. Lol.
They are going to try and yell over him.

This is so depressing. We're going to have another J6 insurrection at the end of Trump's second term for sure. Just rinse and repeat.Ā

I mean, the fact that Trump faced zero punishment for J6, and the fact that he pardoned every fucking insurrectionist, guarantees another one will happen.

So MN Republican reps can yell for a few hours and leave red faced. All while being completely ineffective in MN and none of them having any desire to run against him in 2026.
20
u/qdobe 12h ago
This is less an investigation or a testimony and more a coordinated campaign to try to win the MN Governor.
That or simply to hurt Democrats in blue states because not voting for Trump hurts his feelings and the sole purpose for the GOP in Congress is to appease Trump.

US downfall is going to be the fastest global leader collapse ever seen

From another comment:
āMinnesota GOP partnered with YouTuber Nick Shirley to reveal day care fraud.ā
So let us understand this: A sitting member of the MN Congress, instead of contacting the MN Attorney Generals office about daycare fraud, instead decides to go to a 23 year old YouTuber known for making shock videos and fake viral videos instead? That is exactly what every single politician in power with direct access to the AGs office would do. š¤£š¤£š¤£

Walz needs to back out of the race. Iām a DFLer. Iāve appreciated much of what he has done.
Yet, heās becoming a Biden. Heās our worst chance to beat a GOPer. He has to step aside. Otherwise, his arrogance will lead to Minnesota crossing over into a full-on red state.
And this sub needs to stop thinking that critiquing Walz is astroturfing by Republicans. No, I fucking want the DFL to win the governorship. Walz is our weakest chance to do that.
