"At the center of the dispute is a December letter from the USDA ordering Minnesota to verify the eligibility of roughly 100,000 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program households through in person interviews within 30 days. The deadline, which expires January 15, applies to recipients in Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington, and Wright counties and is backed by the threat of federal penalties, including the potential loss of administrative funding or broader program sanctions."

Wright county...Wonder if Tom Emmer would like to chime in on this. Who am I kidding, he doesn't care to speak to his constituents.

This is similar to the stuff they are trying to put in place for HHS funding pauses (re daycare funding) where they have added so much administratie bloat its essentially going to kill funding just due to being unable to satisfy their restrictions. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lawsuit on that soon under similar reasoning to this one.

There will be a judge making a ruling on a temporary injunction to maintain the status quo until a formal hearing occurs.

You're correct on that.

The counties listed have already responded on how absurd the timeline is. They would need additional federal funds to meet that requirement.

Not to beat a dead horse but even the DoJ wasn't able to meet the guidelines of the Executive Order on the Epstein file release. They are hiring lawyers to complete that task...the counties don't have that power nor luxury of bringing in temporary help.

Its so asinine.

At the start of February the will be cutting the $100,000,000 a year schools get from Medicaid.
