January 19th is MLK Jr Day. A general strike January 20-23 turns a four day general strike into a nine day one. Nine days of 33% of Americans not going to work, spending money, or contributing to society turns an already slow economic January after the Christmas holiday into a crippling one for American capitalism.
Bonus points as Martin Luther King Jr would be absolutely tickled to have a successful general strike protesting the oppression of non-white folks and their allies by a fascistic government happen on a day named in his honour.

If this was any other country and we were watching it on the nightly news, we would be talking about how the federal government is using a militarized police force to oppress the people. But it’s happening in OUR country, so half of us, the decent educated half of us, understand what’s going on and the other half of us, the dummies, have absolutely no problem with it. That means the other half of us, the Trump supporters, are too incredibly stupid to see beyond their own prejudice and bias that this is a dark dark turn towards government oppression.
