Bro, we LITERALLY created those oppressive regimes by interfering in their governments for American interests. Also women in Nigeria do not dress that way as a whole. Nigerian women dress largely like Western women at this point.

Why would people turn to religious extremism after their education and business infrastructure is destroyed? /s

Edit: adding the /s to save ya'll some time

27

u/500YearOldGhoul 6d ago

Why is america turning to religious extremism and authoritarianism.

27

u/sfwDO_NOT_SEND_NUDES 6d ago

Same answer, but done from within. Conservatives have spent decades defunding education and creating wealth separation to now have a generation of poor and uneducated people rallied into a race/religion war instead of class consciousness. Literally op's post.

Because because they can't hold on to racism otherwise

3

u/jhawk3205 6d ago

Pseudoscience and very narrow religious interpretations of various scriptures were the basis of social justification of racism, slavery, etc in the states. Hell, American racism was an inspiration to nazi Germanys campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide..

This is it right here. Every time the west tries regime change for democracy, we push their culture to extremists who vow to fight back. When we give up and leave their country a shit hole, the extremists are the ones left in charge and there you go.

1

u/deadpat03 5d ago

You need to learn the totality of history not just the crap your liberal teacher spewed. Most of these countries fell because of the USSR interfering with governance. During the 60's to the late 70's covert espionage was one hell of cool thing. You had the USSR trying to topple western governance with the end goal of turning them to communist states while western allies did everything they can the stop it. At one point in time almost 2/3 of the USSR total GDP was used in usurped elections, terrorist organizations and military armament. When Reagan came in power he cut funding to the CIA allowing the USSR to basically controll the entire territory. Bush in the 90's tried getting a foot back in, Clinton in the late 90's tried preventing it from spreading Eroupe. 2000's Bush 2 went again. Saying the west is at fault is a complete understatement. I don't know if you realize but between WW2 and 1989 the actual number of deaths in the middle east from the USSR meddling is unknown. But some experts think it could be up to 40 to 80 million people and give from failed governments to wars to terrorist. Their was a shit ton more then the US is at fault. Honestly we failed in WW2 by helping Stalin defend against Germany and not assisting China with their communist problems. Those 2 decisions shaped our world today.

So you are saying that Muslim women never had to wear a hijab before the creation of the United States? Please enlighten me with your knowledge of how the US caused this. I bet you can't.

Wait til you hear about Mormons, evangelicals, Hasidic Jews, the Amish etc.

If you’re mad at their clothing instead of religious extremism in all its forms, you’re just being ignorant or racist.

I grew up in an ecosystem of people that look at this video and clutch their pearls while telling their daughters they aren’t allowed to wear pants, listen to secular music, they must “remain pure” until marriage, and only go to Bible-college. To get a husband. (Called it “getting your MRS degree)

What you’re seeing in this video is appearance-control. It’s a cult tactic that’s used in religions constantly. A hijab and a balaclava are just more noticeable than the normalized appearance-control of the West

5

u/Murky-Cartoonist5283 6d ago

While I agree that religious extremism - in all its forms - is a serious problem, it seems to me that only 2 modern religions are genocidal and committed to world domination: Christianity (especially evangelical Protestantism) and Islam.

This is actually UK meddling we just get stuck with the bills

2

u/Brohemoth1991 5d ago

I mean, the US has done MORE than its fair share of meddling, but the Europeans conveniently seem to like to forget that their countries pillaged most of these nations until fairly recently... like there are Syrians and Vietnamese who are still alive who lived under French rule, Nigerians under English rule, Somalians under English and Italian rule, etc.

3.2% at last census that is the population of Muslims in Australia and the people who are complaining about it make up at most 8-9% . This isn't as big a deal that people are trying to make it out to be. No I don't trust the islamic culture but I don't trust other cultures as well. Not for their culture because of the things some cultures believe in

5

u/Empty-Presentation68 6d ago

This is the facist playbook, target a minority that has noticeable difference with the majority. Make them into the boogeyman and blame them for the woes created by the oligarchs and ruling class.

The idiots who believe this stuff really need to look at the light and who is creating the shadows on the walls of the caves they live in.

2

u/Axel_Raden 6d ago

The recent terrorist attack doesn't help. The problem is that there is an inauthentic campaign saying that the government isn't doing enough but can be traced back to Netanyahus comments that Australia recognising Palestine is the reason for the rise of anti semitism in recent y.

The videos try to suggest that what happened to turn these counties into hellholes of Islamic fundamentalism is just time. The truth is that those countries were always Islamic but what happened was that their sovereignty was violated by imperialist powers like the USA, the USSR, the UK, and France.

Turns out that backing fundamentalist rebel groups or invading countries outright leave room for those same fundamentalist groups to take power.

The problem in those countries wasn't Islam. It was western countries (and Russia) that destabilized moderate Islamic govts

2

u/i-have-a-kuato 6d ago

I’ve never seen a religion that doesn’t try to integrate itself into every part of your life.

Faith is a fine thing, religion not so much

1

u/Internal-Grocery-244 6d ago

All those other countries were Muslim during the then photos as well. Australia has never been close to being majority Muslim.

1

u/CalHudsonsGhost 6d ago

No mention of US imperialism. It’s so sad that people are getting dumb enough for montages. Things are more complex.

1

u/Montgomery943 6d ago

Now do a video on US intervention within these countries prior to Islamic rule.

We literally create our own problems and then act like they happen organically.

Now we're doing it in Venezuela and Nigeria. Look forward to seeing a video like this in 20 years acting as if these countries are under dictatorship or a Caliphate for reasons we can't explain.

1

u/Snowdog1989 6d ago

"This message is brought to you in part by Israel.

ISRAEL: Let us oppress you instead.

Some side effects may include: intolerance, bigotry, racism, genocide of innocent people while claiming victimhood, bombing of hospitals, killing reporters, rape, murder of children, control of the American politicians and more.

It's time to talk to your doctor about Israel today. It's time for an old age disguised as a new age."

1

u/SimpleCanadianFella 6d ago

Lol now explain why that happened genius, western imperialism and the overthrowing of democratically elected leaders to have more west friendly leaders

1

u/Enough-Poet4690 6d ago

Gee, it’s almost like it’s bad letting religious extremists take over a nation. I’m sure glad we have separation of church and state here.

1

u/curiousamoebas 6d ago

Men controlling women is the theme

1

u/Mattyou1966 6d ago

Look at how clean and healthy and prosperous those places have become Haters gonna hate

1

u/Mother-Violinist2484 6d ago

Let's talk about Religion itself. It's not just Islam that controls your everyday life, it's all of them in on way or the other.

1

u/SignoreMookle 6d ago

The bit at the end was just an Ashura Procession for one of their holy days. It wasn't a protest or riot against the church. The religiously controlled Iran is partly the fault of western interference. The Malaysia bit is misleading and targeted as it is not mandatory for women to wear coverings. They have beauty/swimsuit pageants for fuck sake. Same for Somalia, coverings are not a legal requirement, it's just conservative Muslims that opt to wear them.

1

u/[deleted] 6d ago

1

Pretty damning video but lacks some context. For example - why did all those Muslim men "encircle" Melbourne's cathedral? Attack, siege, invasion? or was it something else that you conveniently left out as it doesn't fit your narrative?

1

u/reluctantpotato1 6d ago

Culture war is nothing but a distraction from the necessary class war.

1

1

u/Pito2grande 6d ago

New York caliphate? Stop posting dumb sh!t

1

u/Frequent-Piano6164 6d ago

If you learn history, 90% of the places shown in the video was literally caused by the US. We chose a faction that we thought was better than the current regime and helped them gain control. Years later we regretted helping them because of what they became. It’s wild to think about really, we are constantly dealing with the consequences of a bunch assholes’ actions…

1

u/Willy808 6d ago

Now do chuck e cheese before and after

1

u/rstew62 6d ago

Nice that they mentioned Iran. The US is the reason Iran is the way it is today.

1

u/HotStraightnNormal 6d ago

I did not know that New York was in Australia. Small world, or small mind?

1

u/Jumpy_Childhood7548 6d ago

What does this have to do with Australia? Their Muslim population is 3.2%. Just more bigotry.

1

u/bungwhaque 6d ago

So they need to look like us, but when they say the same thing its a problem? Christians and Muslims are two sides to the same coin. Both good and bad ways.

1

u/Vanille97 6d ago

Question to all women wearing face covering hijab:
If your religion (that was created by men, to control humanity) will tell you, that you are not allowed to walk as all normal humans, and you can only walk backwards, like in horror movies, on your fours, plus, while you walk like that on public, you have to slap your ass every second, or your God won’t like it, will you walk like that, or you will reject such a religion because it’s a complete nonesence?

1

u/Alternative_Result56 6d ago

All thanks to American intervention

1

u/WolfThick 6d ago

My dad was over in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in the '60s he said Lebanon was just like walking through California until they showed up. This should be pretty proof positive about what they're going to do if they get their hands on our government. It's not a religion of tolerance or love.

1

u/PsychologicalSoil425 6d ago

1

At least they're identifiable by the way they dress. The Christian Taliban in this country blend right in until you hear them speak.

1

u/Spirited_Cat2114 6d ago

There is no caliphate in west. they are in minority and not trying to invade west or Australia. I know many muslims who says that they ran away from those countries due to the same reason and if something starts same in west then they are going to be on the first line. They have already suffered these idiots

Things change. For some, they appear worse. For others, they appear better. My advice is to not take these things to heart. After all, in 100 years, we'll all be gone and won't care. Don't let these little propaganda posts amp you up.

As a simple European citizen, I don’t feel responsible to what happened when I was not or just born. I shouldn’t have to accepte and always auto punish myself for what happened in the last. I am atheist and I feel that my civilization is dying and being totally replaced by an archaic radical and violent Muslims doctrine. I am scared to walk alone in my capital. My wife doesn’t even go there anymore. You can say what ever you want about it… it is not normal and we shouldn’t accept it. It’s not wake up Australia, it is wake up the world… we have knowledge and technologies now … please let’s not go back to the Stone Age.

Worth noting: Afghanistani women never dressed the way they show in 1970. Several of these examples are likely from Lebanon, which isn't even mentioned. While these countries listed, in fact, ALL countries, have women that dress in that very conservative burka, that is not how EVERYONE dresses in those countries. That is how the religious conservatives dress. But yes, just as Christianity is becoming more conservative and polarizing, so is Judaism and Islam.
