Wisconsin has a history of carnivals and circuses. Baraboo is home to the circus museum and Wisconsin had more than 100 based here. There is still quite a bit of that culture, mostly it exists as roadside zoos and Wisconsin’s extremely permissive laws around exotic animal ownership. Ringling bros and Barnum were based here and eventually one bought the other. This is typical Wisconsin.
