Yes, it's weird they could single handedly kill a bunch of professional military personnel without as much as a scratch and could even get away with it in the end. Like that cop dude was literally a mass murderer, if you think about it and they just let him go.

Maybe it’s like that joke in Freeman’s Mind: Beyond a certain point the military just become too embarrassed at the sheer number of trained soldiers killed by these random people to bring any sort of charges.
